Welcome to Austin's Page!
Austin was diagnosed with Hurler Syndrome (MPS 1H) on 4-19-00. He had an unrelated cord blood/stem cell transplant at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. on June 27, 2001. We started our journey to Durham on April 13, 2001 and returned home (finally) on October 16, 2001 ! Thank you so much for checking in on, and praying for, our little "miracle". He has a way of capturing many hearts!!!

Monday, October 12, 2009 3:04 PM CDT Happy Fall Everyone!!
I know it has been way too long since I have updated but everything has been going very well!
Austin is now officially a 5th grader and he loves it! He loves his new teacher and really seems to be doing well so far! He even enjoys math!!!
He is doing ballroom dancing in class and thinks its great, he likes to come home and practice his moves with me and Gram and its great!
His headaches are still a problem but we are dealing with it, his glaucoma is of course still there and he sees neuro and eye dr religiously with no big changes.
his little brother Andy had to get his cast put back on last week after not having one on since January so we were not too happy about that but its all for the better !
Gram and Pop are away on a MUCH NEEDED vacation so they are right now relaxing on the beach at Myrtle Beach and I hope they are having a blast, if anyone deserves it they do!!! Love and miss you guys!
Austin performed last week at the yearly oncology talent show at St Christophers hospital and he was a hit! (of course) he sang "if today was your last day" by Nickleback and he rocked the house! Thats my boy!
Well, I must get back to work, just wanted to take a minute to let you all know we are still here!
Me and Austin both have facebook accounts so feel free to look us up and send friend request! Tons of pictures on there!
Love and prayers to all of you faithful Austin readers!!!
love, Carolyn, Austin and Andy !¢¾¢¾ ¢¾
