SEAN'S PAGE Welcome to Sean's Web Page. It has been provided to keep our family and friends updated on Sean's progress.
Sean (at 2 y.o.) was diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma in his left leg on December 11, 2000. Three months later Sean lost his leg to the disease. Sean has amazed us with his adaptability and courage. He showed no evidence of disease for 18 months. On March 20, 2003, we received devastating news that Sean has a form of secondary Leukemia. Sean received a Bone Marrow Transplant on June 12, 2003. His special brother, Patrick, was the donor. Please continue praying and believe in your heart that with God's intervention Sean will fully recover.

Wednesday, September 22, 2004 Sean had his appointment with Dr. Womer today at CHOP. SCANS AND CHEST X-RAY ARE CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!! Thank you for your continued prayers.
Monday, September 13, 2004 Hello Friends & Family, The summer flew by and we enjoyed every minute of it! We had a great week in Sea Isle in July and in August had a fun (but wet) camping weekend at Knoebels amusement park. Patrick attended a few different day camps (basketball, soccer, golf and scout camp) and Sean had fun at an art camp with his cousin Jake. We had a few day trips, but I have to say my favorite part of the summer was being home and just enjoying the “lazy days” of summer! Now it is BACK TO SCHOOL time.
The boys are excited about school. Patrick started third grade on September 8th and Sean’s first day of kindergarten was today – YAHOO! I had both happy and sad tears when I dropped Sean off today. I can't believe that this day is actually here--we have been blessed. Sean was calm and cool, and could not wait to say goodbye to me when I took him to his classroom. This morning, before leaving for school, Sean told me that I can get a job now because he was going to kindergarten. I told him that I have a job taking care of you, Patrick and Dad – and he said “that’s not a job MOM”. He is a character!!
Health update – Sean has been doing well. He had a check-up with Dr. Womer (oncologist) at the end of June and blood work and chest x-ray were fine. He had is second round of vaccines in August (3 shots) and did not even cry. What a brave guy! He looks great and has really grown. What’s next – CAT scan of pelvis and spine under general anesthesia done on September 10th (waiting for results) and appointment, chest x-ray, blood work with Dr. Womer on the 22nd. Please continue prayers for continued remission. If all goes well with scans and tests, Sean will celebrate 3 years remission of his original cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma) at the end of September.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Bill and I continue our commitment to help raise awareness and research funds for Childhood Cancer. In June we went to Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. to tell Sean’s story, along with many other families, so that more government funding will be spent on research for a cure for childhood cancer. At the end of the month will be participate in the Parkway Run that will raise funds for cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We hope and pray that a cure will be found soon. Since Sean has been diagnosed with cancer, we have met so many incredible families with sick children. We continue to pray for these children and the “Angels” that have lost their battle.
Thank you to everyone that supported and attended the 17th Annual Run for the Hill of It in honor of Sean. It was a great day!!
