Welcome To Kayleigh's website. This is so we can keep family & friends updated With her progress...

Kayleigh turned 7 years old August 17th 2002, couldn't wait for school to begin, going into the 3rd grade. This is going to be a great year.

In October she started with some flu symptoms. Went to the DR's and was given antibiotic's. She had been cheerleading and going to Brownies that year. One week she would miss brownies the next cheerleading. I really thought something was going on at school, maybe other sick kids or mold in the school I was going crazy. The dr's would say upper respiratory infection and give her more antibiotic's and on we go. By Christmas She was so sick could not even go Christmas Eve to sing in the choir it was very sad. They had given her an inhaler because they could her something going on in the lung. She would cough after running so much. Well that didn't work it was getting very frustrating. This flu kept coming back.

March 23rd...........................2003
Kayleigh wakes us up and asked me if maybe something is wrong, there is blood when I go to the bathroom. So of course I fly up and look, trying to stay calm not to get Kayleigh all worked up. we tell her that we are going to find out at the Hospital. Well we didn't find out anything I could not believe this, And questioned the Dr. HE said follow up with your family DR.HE gave us Antibiotic's Zithramax, Worked right away masked all symptoms. Tuesday went to our DR's office, Kayleigh had no visible lump at this point. The Dr ordered an ultrasound I felt a little better. In the back of my mind though I knew something was wrong.I called for the ultrasound, they said 3 weeks. I was worried and nervous. Thought to myself this is crazy. By this time Kay was feeling pretty good. Maybe just a UT infection, Hmmmmmmmm. 2weeks went by and then Kayleigh started with a bellyache and went away the next day. I was on the computer looking up Ut infections and anything I could find.A few Days passed and she woke up with a fever and a really painful backache. So there I was looking up anything about backaches and all the other symptoms..... I couldn't believe what I was finding!!!!!!!! Called my husband and told him to meet me at the Emergency room, There we waited for 3 hrs Kayleigh was so sick. I got on the phone to another Hospital in our area the nurse said to come over right away.....Had to wait there a bit but they had taken Kay in for a few test and I got to tell the DR. there the story He ordered a CT scan right away. The news was devastating My daughter's life was passing in front of my eye's, Everything we have done. The day she was born. Her and my song came on the radio while they were transporting her to CHOP. I was just thinking why couldn't this of been me.... WHY My Kaybug.........

CONFIRMED At CHOP WILMS TUMOR STAGE 3 FAVORABLE Went though 6 months Chemo and a few hospital stays. !8 months remission and in Aug of 2005 Kayleigh relapsed in her lung. 6 months of a more aggressive CHEMO and many hospital stays. Kayleigh is now in remission......
