I was diagnosed with CML in Dec 2000--started Gleevec in april 2001-- and relapsed one year later. i am keeping this journal to give others hope, courage, and determination to get through their own challenges in life. Cherish each moment and make each day count!!! Thanks for being a part of my life!!!

Sunday, April 27, 2008 12:39 AM CDT Spring has finally arrived in Meddford
Would you believe we had snow 2 times last week?? Our ski area stayed open longer due to the huge snowpack we have this year. Today my tulips are in full bloom and my trees are budding. This time of year its excitng to be outside to see all the new life.
In a week Minor and I go to Portland to see our grandaughter Nola--age 9 months. She is crawling now and making lots of talking noices. I t will be fun to catch up with her after 2 months. Before Mothers day Tasha, Nola and I will fly to Texas to meet her great grandparents for the first time. Chad will join us for 3 days.Lets hope she is an angel on that long plane ride
My dry dry eyes have become a real big issue in the last 3 months. I will see a corneal specialist next week at OHSU and will also need to go back soon to Boston where I got my schleral lens . It takes both Minor and me working together to get the lens in each day and due to mucous buildup I can only wear them about 4 hours. Therefore I am barely driving and only in the am when my eyes are better. Have no idea what the future will bring. I have no tear production at all and my eyes would be happiest in a very warm moist climate with no wind.I guess I will need to move to a very tropical humid island.
Stay tuned for pictures of the 4 generations in Texas. Jeannie
