Just thinking about you all so much this week. 5 years ago this spring, we sat at OU Children's with you and viewed your laptop trip to Disney on Make a Wish. Guess what, we leave on Monday for Karina's trip to do just the same thing. I remember so many details of what you told me about the trip and we are so very excited. She has waited three years since her wish was granted to be well enough to go. Praise God. Thank you for your support over the years through caringbridge. I know if we could see each other more often it would feel like old times......good times. Hugs to you.

Dearest Lehew's,
Tears are streaming from my body not because I'm sad but because that was such a beautiful entry. I too remember different conversations I've had with Brian.
I also have walked in a wheat feild to find a weed, A MUSTARD SEED! To remind my self to have faith the size of a mustard seed, mountains can move but I only want cancer taken away!
Your a beautiful family. I heard Johnnie fell. The scars on the outside doesn't hurt near like our scars inside our hearts.

Dearest Lehews....one of the greatest families I have EVER had the priviledge of knowing and sharing with!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the pictures....Coach Weems birthday was Oct. 21st and Ruthie McCallie's that month and then football and deer season....still so strange, but we all know that He never leaves us and they are all celebrating with Great Healer and Friend and Lover of Our Soul!!!!
I pray Annabel is better with every passing day....
Our grandson, Christopher Kyle, after Coach and our son, Kyle,...cracked 4 vertebraes and tore a tendon in his back the third game of the season...his first in high school....I know our son and Coach got to see him from a high vantage point, being the mom and wife...I wanted them to here to share it with....we are praying for total healing and God's direction for his future!!!
Remember you are all always in my prayers and my love for all of you only grows with precious time and never diminishes!!!!!!
Because He first loved us....and always does...
Bless you by the bucketfuls....as we say in TX!!!!

Audra and Gang,
I read where your son hurt his neck in football. We make Cody wear a Cowboy Collar. The team had it we didn't have to buy it. It's to help keep neck injuries. It takes a little bit to get use too.

Give hugs. The wedding sounded so beautiful. Is this the same Jennifer that works with Camp Cavett.

Hello Lehew's,
Sorry about Bobby's grandmother, it's such a gift to live to an old age! I think you know what I mean, after seeing so many die young.
Yeah, on the interception! I'm really loving watching Cody too! I think I will receive the Silly Hollering Mom Award for yelling so much!haha
It's great being some what normal. Wishing you well on the MRI and that therapy maybe what you need.
Give hugs to all,

Hello,
I'm glad to see all is well. I think puppies would of been fun haha. I remember when Brian brought those 6 home and we feed them and boy were they alot of work! We kept Betsy who is almost horse size, eats like one too! When we feel energic to take her on a walk she pulls us everywhere!
What an amazing Mom you are! I was thinking about home schooling Brian and getting ideals from you but don't think
I'm as talented as you.
I miss seeing so many wonderful people in our lives we met over the years but I wouldn't trade this time for nothing.
It bothers me just going for test now.
Give hugs and kisses.

Happy Birthday to Daniel!!! What sweet pictures of his 3rd birthday. Audra, I pray you have a beautiful day of memories and can do some special things for Daniel. I read a verse in Romans that said we are planted with him in death we will be in likeness of his resurrection, it gave me encouragement to think of Jesus' resurrected body and how people could touch it, we too will be able to touch, hold our little boys again!! We look forward to that day!!! May the Lord give your heart joy today in the midst of sorrow and missing your Daniel.

Hi Audra,
I know what you mean about this part of the year and the remainder of it, this morning it felt like a morning that Joel was here in 06, I think I miss him more as the days go, his and Josiah's birthday went ok, its just so hard seeing an empty space. I know your deep in thought of Daniel as his birthday is this week. I would like to read the article about Coach Stoops, can you tell me where I can see it? Will be praying for you this week!! I would love to visit with you someday, but all we'd do is probably cry!!

Audra and Annabel,

It is so great to see recent photos of you all. Everyone is growing so much and you all look wonderful. I appreciate your openness to share your pain and feel encouraged by the verses you post that offer us no pain when we leave this earth. I feel like I can fatham your pain as I feel the same often. I know that Karina is still on this earth but there are times when I cry because of what she has lost. I am not sure what is worse to see a child suffer on earth or know they are without pain in heaven. It is all so hard on parents and siblings who love these precious children. I relate so much to what you write.......dates of illness, the before and after events of cancer, special places etc........please know that I pray for you and hold you close to my heart. Blessings.

Hi Audra,
I have not visited via e-mail in so long, but I think of you and Daniel. I will never forget being at the clinic and not even knowing you yet, but as we held Joel out in the toy room and you were there with Annabelle, just that memory is special, because of being with Joel and then thinking too, I did not know you had a little Daniel about Joel's age and I know you had to have been hurting to see a mommy with a little boy and most likely you had sat there with him. I am still pressing on as you, but sometimes it is most unbearable. I know providence is working but its like what do you do with all the emotions, I guess just keep releasing the tears and praying for mercy upon the heart. We are in a club that we would never choose but it has to be the best club, because HE chose it for us. I think of you often and know that our little boys BD's are coming up in Sept. Joel's the 13th and Daniel's the 18th? Blessings to your family

Enjoyed the pictures of the boys. They have certainly grown! (and so handsome, too) Thrilled that Anabel's tests have been good. Glad you found some answers to your concerns in the scriptures. Audra and Annabel,

It is so wonderful to hear that spring fever has hit your hosue. Karina's brothers are both hot and heavy into baseball now as well and it keeps our house hopping with all those practices. Braydin and Torin are loyal NY Yankee fans. We have heard a lot about SDC and it sounds like it was a lot of fun. I am so happy that your family is able to do things together again without the many worries that used to burden the fun. We love the photos. Annabel looks woderful, happy, healthy and a lot of fun to be with. Let us know what grows in your garden! Thank you for asking for prayer for Karina. We are at the hospital now after a day of virus causing dehydration. She is receiving IV fluids and we pray that God will restore her health. She has suffered enough and we look forward to her sweet spirit returning. Happy Spring to you all. Hello to your Nana for us and a big thank you to her for her messages to Karina and for her prayers.

How wonderful to see a familiar face on the front page of the newspaper. We loved the article AND Anabel's painting! I was all teary reading about the bell ringing last summer and just praise God for his healing in your life, Anabel.

The article in the paper was really nice. Anabel looks great and I loved reading about her expressions and thoughts. Also, Emory too struggled with memorization and retention. I've seen things improving though the longer he is back at school. I don't know if it's the consistency in school or the distance from the actual treatments. Also, it seems his ability to memorize math facts, church verses, school poems, etc. isn't nearly as strong as his ability to memorize sports trivia, statistics or rap songs. Curious.

As I have sat here thinking of this day, part of me wants sadness and yet I am overcome from happiness. The happiness that has overcome me is knowing that my little cousin Daniel is celebrating his 3rd anniversary with Jesus. Yes the human side of us all wants Daniel back here on earth with us, but that was not the plan that God had in store for Daniel. Daniel's short life has served as a testimony to thousands of people, some who knew him and even some who did not have the pleasure of knowing him. Daniel is looking down on us all on this day saying, "Don't cry in sadness, cry happy tears for I am having the time of my life." And those of you who have known our family knows that Daniel is getting non-stop hot dogs from his Great Papa Lehew and oh my goodness the spoiling he is getting from his Grandpa Dean. We love you all and think of you daily.

Dear Audra and Bobby,
Boy, do ya'll know how to throw a party to make any child and the child in us all laugh! It touched my heart to watch Anabel in the dunking booth, realizing what a difference in her life the removal of her port signifies! All of our girls delighted in the moments we spent with you at Anabel's celebration of life and restored health! With so many dozens of children running in every direction, laughing as they played and ate party treats, while lounging adults frenged the yard in summer-like rest, we thought of Independence Day. May this "independence day" for Anabel and your family ring in a new chapter of life for your sweet family. Remembering Daniel, we are thankful for the opportunity to know and love you all. "He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it!"
God bless you all! Love, The Patrick Family

We got caught up in celebrating Nick's birthday and never made it your way. I know you understand. You are always on my mind. I hope that our paths will cross places other than the hospital.

Dear Audra And Family,
I know... a day of joy and sorrow. If they have celebrations in heaven, Daniel went to Joel's last Thurs. and today Joel gets to go to Daniel's. May the Lord give you all grace today as the memories are so tender. O Lord thank you for giving Daniel to this family for 3years and 3 months and thank you for our Joel for 3years 4months and 10 days. Help our hearts O God! We need you, O Lord!!

WOW talk about at a loss for words. The day finally came that you were like the story of David and Goliath, Anabel your Goliath was not mighty enough to win against your GREAT WISDOM and STRENGTH you have in JESUS. As you rang that VICTORY BELL, your Goliath fell to the ground in defeat. I know that your special day held lots of different emotions and for you to ring that bell for Daniel too, that was a victory of him too. Your Great Papa Lehew, your Grandpa Dean and Daniel ALL REJOICED THAT DAY WITH YOU!!! Whereas they are your Guardian Angels in Heaven above. I am honored to tell people that YOU are MY SECOND COUSIN. I love you so very much, even if we may not see each other often you have a special place in my heart.

I will continue to keep Anabel in my heart and prayers as she is nearing the day to ring the bell. Encourage her to ring that bell for Daniel too! He didn't get a chance to ring that one, but I guarantee you he rung the bell when he walked through the gates of heaven and met the Healer, his Lord and Savior! What an incredible family you are. God's grace and mercy is sufficient for all of us and His power is made perfect in our weaknesses. I am sure you have been an awesome witness and testimony walking through this valley...at least you have been to me. God bless you.

Hello Audra - I am a former employee of Express Personnel in the Human Resources Dept. in Oklahoma City and, of course, used your husband's services all the time. I am semi-retired up in Idaho and, from time to time, I check in with his blog and also the CaringBridge. We prayed for your family many times and when I check the websitesl I stop to pray for you again. All families go through tough times, mine included, but right now all of my grandchildren are healthy. Sadly, three of them are experiencing the breakup of their parent's marriage, which is so very painful. Whether physical or emotional, it is so hard to see a child in pain. But, I'm reminded that Jesus knows about every minute and is there to comfort and strengthen us all. I will continue to check in and pray again for you all. Much love and blessings, Harriett

Audra,
It was so good to see you and Anabel today. I hope you realize how much you've come to mean to me. You have become a good friend - funny we know so little about each other really, except the very core of being a mother trying to protect our children. I have a feeling our bond will be a strong one that lasts for a long, long time. Hope to see you next week again and that Anabel's prednisone week passes quickly and goes smoothly. Only a few more left!

It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Isn't it amazing to see the rich heritage shared throughout the generations? We just had that privilege last month in MS. I'm glad you had such a good time - although I'm with Anabel when it comes to roughing it! I can't believe her remaining treatments are in the single digits. We continue to pray for you guys. Dear Audra,
I just watched part of an interview with the two young English royals. They spoke repeatedly about wishing and dreaming of just being “normal,” and what they would give to be able to live just ordinary lives. So many times I have heard my own child, Paige, wish to simply live an ordinary life, and yet I have also listened as she discussed kids and families from the clinic and the fact that their lives are a living testament to miracles, faith, and strength. Your family is such a witness of all that is good about humanity and our world. You are truthful, even when this comes because you allow yourself to be vulnerable as you share touching and sometimes painful thoughts. We too are sometimes overwhelmed by the reality of the clinic, and yet, we find that remaining connected to friends who truly understand the complexity of striving for “just an ordinary day” brings us hope and encouragement. Your sweet spirit, through all you have witnessed in this life, casts a soft radiance of hope on the path to our destiny. Your precious memory of Daniel’s last moments will remain in my heart forever. No wonder you always end your entries with "Come quickly, Lord Jesus!" You bless so many hearts. May your week be blessed. Love, Debbie Patrick

What cute Santa pix! I can't believe the curls on that baby - he looks like a doll. You all look so good. It must have been an amazing trip and such a treat to have your mom and dad and Tammy's family join you. Glad Anabel is recovering so she can enjoy looking back on the trip. Thanks for the story - can't imagine where she gets that sassyness from! Love you guys.

Hello Lehew Family,
I love the Wonderful Times! I'm sorry I haven't wrote lately but know that I check real often on everyone.
If it doesn't stop raining I will have muddy fields to play in with a really big machine! I don't like that either. Maybe we will see you next week, we do test.
lots of love

Hello Lehew Family!
We continue to lift you all in our thoughts and prayers for blessings each day: may each day be blessed with beautiful sunrises and sunsets; may the kiss of sunshine on your cheek warm you each day; may Anabel be blessed with sustaining energy for days filled with adventures; may you find sweet healing and restored memories of your beautiful Daniel in this magical place; and, may your days be filled with the music of laughter as Anabel’s own wish comes true. You are truly an amazing family, and we know that our Heavenly Father rejoices in your faithfulness and strength to endure with grace, hope and love. Love and best wishes, The Patricks

I remember watching the beautiful video/music of Daniel's Make A Wish Trip on your laptop the first time we met sitting on the bed. The memories are vivid to me of his beautiful face and your pure joy holding him tight that week. I wish you all a wonderful vacation of rest, fun, laughter and healing.

It made me smile reading about all the wonderful things others are doing for your family. Isn't it amazing to feel all the love and support others pour out, trying to help us through our difficult times. God provides help through each day. Your messages mean so much to me. Thank you for the example you have shown. I hope your family has a wonderful time. Lane and I will keep you in our prayers.

Happy Easter! Thank you for keeping your website updated as I am encouraged by your faith each time I read it. Anabel is a strong and courageous young lady. Our lives have become saturated with caring for Karina that I find I have little time for the computer these days. Please know that I think you of you all often and pray for you. God is faithfully carrying these precious girls through each day. We are hoping to come to OK in Sept to allow Karina to ring the bell on her one year post transplant anniversary. We will let you know as it gets closer. Blessings to you all.

Dear Precious Lehew family, I am lifting up prayers for you and send my love to you all. I have not lost a child but I do understand that deep outburst moan of a greiving mother. Take some time for yourself Audra and do soemthing nice for you.

Dear Lehew Family,
I'm sorry for the stupid doctors sometimes not listening! I could throw fits when they don't do that. I'm glad now that we have our motherly instincts and we will push more next time!
Don't beat your shelf up! Thats what I do like these headaches of Brian's. I wished I would of threw more a fit and they would of lowered the dose sooner!!
It stinks sometimes and if you see me with a air freshner around my neck, I'm having a bad day!

Dear Audra,

I just took time to look over the pictures of your beautiful family. What did people do long ago who didn't have picture to remind them of love ones who died? I'm glad we have those with videos too but it's still tuff. I hope the toe is better. Brian has spots on bottom of his feet and just stepping on things he screams in pain but not like pulling off a toe nail!!!!!!
I know a person who makes quilts of t-shirts. Her son had Neuroblastoma like 11 years ago. She showed me several pictures of quilts she made. I thought of you, DeAnn and Jamie and wondered would that be a neat way of keeping some of ones clothes.
We will be praying this week for the harsh treatment and your family.
Love,
Briscoe Gang
