Wednesday, February 29, 2012 7:20 PM CST Wow, after over a year and half, I am now able to re-update Luke's page. ALOT has happened, but God has been good throughout. Thank you for checking in as I have been able to see so many are still doing. Yesterday marked 10 years since I learned of Luke's tumor. What a bittersweet day.... Yet because of such tragedy I have been inspired to pursue/obtain my nursing degree (something that was a direct result of his cancer journey). Hearing those words, "Your son has a mass in his brain...." will forever be etched in my memory. Not because I treasure them, but because of the scar that has been seared into my own brain due to the consequences that followed. Only through the help, love, & support of my family and friends did we survive ourselves.
The other kids are doing fine, all of us having come through a horrendous divorce successfully with God's help. (Not to mention my dear friends Paul & Peggy, Missy, Joelle, Daniel, Dave, John F, Drita, & so many others who I leaned on for support/encouragement along the way.)
While I miss Lukie terribly, I do realize how very blessed I am. His life, though short by our terms, was (as Paul reminds me) FULLY LIVED. Praise God.
Thanks for checking in, & I do intend on updating more frequently. Much love~ Ivy & Joscelyn, Dane, & Autumn
