AUSMAN MY HERO

Austin was diagnosed with Ependymoma on August 17th 2004,he had his first surgery on August 20th it lasted 21 hours they were able to get 90% of tumor he then had chemotherapy for 7 weeks followed by another surgery in which they got 100% followed by 42 radiation treatments it then was discovered to have spread to his spine and (he has a new area of enhancement or possibly growth) and now he has a small spot on his spine ,He is now on oxaliplatin he gets it every 21 days . Please keep Austin in your prayers!! I have had several people ask to share a little of Austin interests ,he loves sports he has his own little collection going of All autographed sports stuff going(he likes all sports),he also has a collection of hats going I think he has like 40 so far ,(thats a typical collection I think for almost all cancer kids)and of course he is a typical boy he collects yugio cards and monster truck stuff he has a few autographed monster trucks and posters from them,he also loves to camp and fish ,computers and video games and last but not least he loves country music,Especially Rascal Flatts and Tim Mcgraw, and Lee Greenwood.HE IS AN AMAZING LITTLE BOY AND IS OUR HERO!!KEEP ON FIGHTING AND NEVER GIVE UP!!! . WE ARE NOW BEING TREATED AT ST.JUDES!!A FEW PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING WHAT I MEAN BY COUNTS IT IS BASICALLY HIS IMMUNE SYSTEM AND BLOOD CLOTTING ABILITIES THATS THE EASIEST WAY TO EXPLAIN IT HIS HEALTHY CELLS ARE BEING ATTACKED BY THE CHEMO LETS JUST HOPE ITS ATTACKING THE TUMOR CELLS ALSO!!! AS OF OCT 27th,2006 AUSMAN IS STABLE AND OFF CHEMO FOR NOW!!!

Hi Everyone,
Its me Debbie I just wanted to check in and let everyone know Ausman is doing fantastic he started school lastweek and he loves it Im pretty happy with the new school also it reminds me of his old school Huntington they seem to really understand alot about his IEP and they dont seem to have a problem working with myself and St Judes to ensure that Austin gets the best possible education he can. I honestly dont think a school can even come close to Huntington as they are amazing and have a heart of gold, they were our rock when we needed to lean on them they were there through it all with us.
As far as we know Ausman is still cancer free our next trip to St Judes is SEPT 22 ND - SEPT 26 TH He will only have a brain mri we are not doing the spine we now test the spine once a year and we will do some more thyroid and pituity testing and they are also doing a phychological test to see if he needs ADHD meds and they are doing IQ testing to check for any brain damage WHICH I HIGHLY DOUBT HIS GRADES LAST YEAR WERE AWESOME THE ONLY CLASS HE IS STRUGGLING WITH THIS YEAR IS MATH WE GOT HIS PROGRESS REPORT YESTERDAY AND HE HAS AN A IN SCIENCE(HIS NEW FAV CLASS)AND HE HAS B IN READING WRITING AND ENGLISH.
As some of you may have noticed we moved a few months ago Well we are moving again in 2 weeks we found a 4 bedroom house on 3 acres for same price we are paying for a 2 bedroom with no yard,so as soon as we get moved I will be adding our home address to the botton of this page We would love to hear from you guys. Thanks for checking in on my hero WE LOVE YOU GUYS,
