I got your e-mail address from Paula last week and read your journal and looked at your pictures and just bawled. Five years ago I went with my sister to China for her to adopt a little girl. Reading your journal brought a flood or memories along with the tears. I remember walking into the room at the "official's office" and seeing Liz for the first time, holding her and falling totally in love. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us! I had to call my sister immediately. She went to the site and called me back boohooing as well. These are special girls! I hope yours turns out not to be quite so bossy as ours. Liz just proves in spades that nurture is stronger than nature. She's in a family with loads of bossy women and has learned well.

Good morning!! I cannot believe you're coming home Wednesday, I'm so excited and although I'm sure you've enjoyed your stay in Columbia I know you can't wait to get little Mia home to meet her big brother and sister. I wanted to let you know that we had a great time last week with Jim and the kids. We went out for dinner and played some putt-putt, the kids were very loving (Abbey and Brad both jumped right up into Kenny's arms!) and happy and PERFECTLY behaved, I was so proud of them. I cannot believe how big they've gotten. Brad shot a hole in one and Abbey and I played skeet ball, she was getting them in all by herself by the time we finished. The boys spent some time in the batting cages and then we topped off the night with some ice cream! Counting the days until the 4th, can't wait to see everybody. Travel home safely and tell JJ her favorite God-daughter likes SUEDE too!!

Well by the sounds of your progress, it will not be much longer now. In our case, the judge's part was fairly quick. Hopefully, he will sign right away and you will be heading home next week. We finally had a chance tonight to check out your site... and what a beautiful sight she is! I have tears in my eyes. You and Jim certainly have an adorable baby and I love her name. She looks like a Mia. I cannot believe all that you have been doing. I really did not know the extent to this whole adoption procedure. I hope you and Mia are doing well. I know you are probably real anxious for Jim and the kids to return. (I don't know how much I can write here.) Jim and I just got back from Boston. I had my 15 year college reunion. It was fun seeing people that you have not seen in over a decade. It seemed that having 3 kids was average. Lots of families with four and some with 5! Also there were 5 families that I talked to with twins.

We just wanted to let you know what a pleasure it was to meet the two of you and to be present at your beautiful daughter's presentation. She is such a lovely little girl and your family is going to just adore her even more once they meet her in person. The week we spent at Betty's together went so quickly that it seems like a blur. We know it will be difficult that Jim will be heading back today, however a week has already gone by, the anticipation of Tara's mom coming down alone will make the second week fly and at that point you will be half way there! Plus, once she gets there you will be spending so much time shopping that the time will go by fast and at that point you'll be waiting to sign so when you look at it, you're almost finished! Not to mention your wonderful little girl and the time you will be spending with her. We look forward to seeing you again at the picnic and enjoy our old room at Betty's. p.s.
