Thursday, October 18, 2007 10:28 AM CDT Happy Fall everyone,
Holidays are over, vacations are over and now the kids are finally back to school. Routine works well with all of us.
Gabriel's Bar Mitzvah was even better than I had hoped. He had an amazing celebration with hundreds of photos and hours of video as reminders. Somehow it feels like a distant memory.
Gabriel is now in the eighth grade and doing beautifully so far. He made it onto the school's hockey team which as most of you remember, was tough when his energy level was so low last year and he had to give up. His perserverance with physical therapy paid off and now he feels like he can be part of the team. This is a huge milestone.
Jason's life is getting back on track as well. He finally is allowing himself to enjoy his life while Gabriel can as well. Jason is playing hockey as well, a dream for Jason. He felt guilty enjoying a sport when Gabriel wasn't able to participate. Now they both are busy talking about their moves, their plays and their fouls. I just sit back and smile.
Noah is in third grade and behaving the way only Noah can. His teachers are very reassuring that they have him under control. He enjoys school and enjoys the after school activities.
Arielle is in kindergarten. My baby goes to school full days now. She loves school and has been working hard trying to read. She is also learning how to tie her shoes. Though she is my fourth, it stll amazes me how much a five year old absorbs.
Louis and I are happy knowing that everything is going smoothly. We just got back from a few days in california. He had a conference and I went to join him. I did not remember how amazing it was to be away for a bit.
Gabriel went from seeing the doctor monthly for blood counts to two months now. It feels weird.....I'd still rather keep closer track of him, but the doctors assure me that they are taking great care of him.
Thank you for those who still check in with the page. I know I am not amazing at updating but thankfully things are not changing like they used to.
We hope everyone is well.
Lisa
