"I'm so thankful for you, my good family and friends the Lord has blessed me with! Just seeing that you have taken the time to view my page and write a little something to me really, really brightens my day! Thank you for those little notes! And, most of all, thank you for your friendship!
I want to thank the Lord for His continued touch! I've had three pieces of good news lately and I'd love to share them with you!
First of all, about three weeks ago I had another MRI. John and I went in at 3:00 for my appointment and left at 8:00! What a loooong appointment! That has never happened to me with an MRI (thankfully)!
The reason for the long time at the hospital was this: The woman who was in charge of my MRI pulled me out halfway through the scan and had to inject what they call 'contrast' into my veins. The contrast helps the scan to be more clear. They've done this with every MRI I've had. The woman tried three times to find a good vein, and they kept collapsing on her! Needles and me AND my veins are not good friends AT ALL!!! My veins are so little and small it's hard to find a good one. So, a male nurse was called in to see if he could do it. Well, he tried three times, even wiggled the needle around trying to get it to work! Ouch! No success! Now they're calling the IV Team in (they're supposed to be the professionals, you know!) This male nurse tried his tricks, and he, also, wiggled the needle. I mean, he really, REALLY wiggled the needled! He had my eyes rolling in my head, and John was looking at me with great concern! No success. Then another male nurse walked over and said, "Let me try." And on the first try . . . HE GOT IT!!!! I asked for his name so if I have problems again, I know who to call on!!
I'm sorry I've taken so long in telling the story, but now I get a big kick out of it! :) Anyway, my neurosurgeon's office has contacted me and given me the report that the cyst is the same size and it looks like the tumor itself has only grown a teeny, teeny bit if any at all. So I say, "Thank you, God," once again!! Isn't He wonderful?!
The next appointment I had was a trip to my ophthalmologist, which my neurosurgeon had requested. As you know, I have been concerned about my vision, as I tend to leave a letter or two out of some words while reading (my hobby!) Well, we did the vision field test and the test was the same as the last one I had done months ago! I was still wondering how that could be when I was reading differently. But, I thanked the Lord for His touch again.
My next appointment was with a 'low vision' eye doctor. He was so nice, and so encouraging. He explained why I might be leaving letters out and it all made sense! I was given two magnifiers, a pair of sunglasses, and a neat little magnifier that stands and lights up! Pretty cool, huh!
That is it! I'm feeling better now and back to myself (is that normal? No, don't answer, ha!) A bad head cold combined with a very bad sinus problem has haunted me for two weeks and now I'm 99% over it! I hope you all have escaped all the viruses floating around. Which reminds me . . . it was supposed to snow here last night and it's supposed to snow tonight! Yay!
Love to you all and God bless you! Please keep me in your prayers."
I think that about says it all at this point. Her mom, dad and I are headed up next week to visit. Pray we don't get so much snow that we can't get back to vote! Todd
