Hello everyone from Buffalo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is Sunday and we just got back from dinner at my brother and sister laws house. Well, what can we say about the past month- it has been an amazing adventure.

We woke up at 4:30 A.M. on Thursday morning (Shawn and I didnÂ’t sleep much-a lot of tossing and turning). Jorge picked us up at 5:45 A.M.-he laughed when he picked up our luggage. JerriÂ’s bag was our savior and was WAY over the weight limit, but Delta was very nice and didnÂ’t say anything. We arrived at the Bogota airport with no problem. Shawn drank 8 ounces before we got on the plane-that was the most he ever had at one time!!! We had to get there 3 hours early and we used up about 2 hours getting through security and finally arrived at out gate 8:00 A.M.. We were able to board the plane first as we had an infant-that was a first for usÂ…

Shawn did really well on the first flight. He drank again-this time 7 ounces and we landed in Atlanta around 2:10 P.M. where we put ShawnÂ’s little feet on the ground making him a US citizen!!!! It was a happy moment for all of us. We went through immigration and customs with no problem. Again, we were able to skip the long lines as we had an infant.

I took Shawn in the bathroom and changed him into his red, white & blues. He looked adorable!! I asked the guy at the Delta counter if we could have the closest seat to the door and said he would do what he could. We were in seats 10 A & B, 1st row behind first class. We boarded the plane about 4:40 and Shawn slept the whole way home. Shawn and I spent the next 2 hours talking. We both wondered how my family was handling these last 2 hours of waiting. We said that as soon as we land in Buffalo, one journey ended and a new one was about to begin (one we were looking VERY forward to!)

My brother Tony was also travelling on Thursday and he got in about 6:00. He waited by the gate for us to get off and there he stood with camera in hand a HUGE smile from ear to ear. It was very nice to see him. He held his nephew for the first time and I am not sure whole smiled more, nephew or uncle!

I couldnÂ’t get to the other side fast enough. We knew that all of our friends and family were waiting there. With Tony holding Shawn, we turned that corner to see signs and friendly faces. My parents were the first to greet us. It was GREAT to see them. They hugged and kissed Shawn and I. I then placed Shawn in his grandmaÂ’s arms for the first time and it was a dream come true for us. He smiled at her with his amazing smile and then his Papa had to have his turn.

Shawn was a trooper on this trip home. He had such a long day and he was such a happy baby when we arrived at the airport. About 85 friends and family members greeted us. I walked around introducing our son to everyone. It was a very proud moment for us. We came home to find a lighted teddy bear sign saying ‘WELCOME HOME SHAWN ANTHONY- WE LOVE YOU!!

My family did a super job on the nursery. It is so nice to know that his room was created by such loving people.

Shawn had visitors until 2:00 A.M. that night so he was a 'little' off his schedule. We went to grandma and papaÂ’s house on Friday where he was bathed, held and fed by them all day. It was amazing to see them with him and how my dreams kept coming true.

He is now drinking 6 ounces at each feeding and enjoying his new chair from Aunt Annie & Uncle Tony. He loves music and seems to be adjusting well. His smile melts our hearts!!

Well, we are getting ready to put Shawn to bed. Thank you again to everyone for all your kind words and generosity-it has been a pleasure going through this first part of our journey with all you. We look forawrd to the next part with you. Thank you to everyone for coming to the airport-it was so nice to see you all. God Bless and take care!

All our love, The Blairs
