Cody's Command Central

Welcome to Cody's Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated on Cody's progress in the fight against T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

"With God's help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes." Psalm 60:12 NLT

He has been kicking some serious T-cell, outta control, white cell tail!!

Cody is doing much better now and seems to have gotten over the worst of the walking pneumonia he was fighting. He has more energy and doesn't cough uncontrollably like he had been. Thank goodness for a good response to the Z-pack the pediatrician ordered!

With Mother's Day coming up I want to share an opportunity to give the gift of life by encouraging everyone to sign up on the Bone Marrow Donor Registry!

Donor Garden

Click the "Thanks Mom" notice in the right hand corner and check out the chance to sign up for free. This is how I signed up a couple years ago.

Cody has not needed a bone marrow transplant but I know my heart would be frantic with worry if he had and a donor had not been available. That's why I signed up, too. If I should ever be a match, I know that my heart would be filled with joy at the idea of helping another person to overcome something life-threatening.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I'm also asking for prayers of healing and hope for my mom as she's been under the weather this week and when she gets knocked down, it really seems to hit her harder than ever before since my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer earlier this year. As hard as it was to have my mom diagnosed with breast cancer and then Cody with leukemia, it just seems unfair and an overwhelming burden to have yet another fight against the cloning little beast!

I'm also reminded that from my mom I inherited resourcefulness, industriousness, wit and a knack for creating and nurturing many things: kids, gardens, meals, a welcoming home and loving relationships. Thanks, Mom. I love you.
