CaringBridge Newsroom

We Believe that in Times of Need, the Greatest Source of Hope and Healing is the Love of Family and Friends

Maintaining hope and resolve during a health journey can be a daily struggle. CaringBridge provides the opportunity for a much deeper, more intimate level of communication, connecting people through the healing power of words.

Founded in 1997 by Sona Mehring, CaringBridge is a nonprofit that gives anyone experiencing a healthy journey the ability to create a personal, protected website. With the ability to share important news quickly and easily, individuals can rally a community of support when it’s needed most -- all while ensuring that privacy is always protected.

As a lifeline to the outside world, a CaringBridge website can make all the difference when facing the loneliness of a hospital stay, enduring a long recovery at home or coordinating day-to-day, hands-on help. Using this personal online space simplifies communicating with loved ones -- messages of love, support and encouragement come flooding in, allowing the day-to-day focus to be on healing.

At CaringBridge, personal data is protected and never sold, and there is no outside advertising. Therefore, we rely on the compassion and generosity of donors and volunteers to make CaringBridge possible, and to keep millions of people connected every year. Thanks to those who donate, CaringBridge is available to anyone, anywhere at no cost.
