CaringBridge adds iPhone App

Eagan, Minn. (Apr. 7, 2010) —

CaringBridge, a Minnesota-based nonprofit web service, now has a free iPhone application available for download from the App Store. This streamlined version of the website makes it easier for family and friends to visit a personal CaringBridge site on-the-go.

CaringBridge is a charitable nonprofit organization providing free, private websites that connect family and friends to share information, love and support during a serious health event, care and recovery. CaringBridge is a vital service for everyone affected during this time - the patient, the caregiver, and concerned family and friends. The personal websites save time and energy by centralizing communication and easing the burden of updating everyone during a health event. Each CaringBridge site is unique - authors select their website design and add health updates and photos to share their story while visitors leave messages in the guestbook, creating a network of support for the patient.

"When a friend or family member is dealing with something like cancer, premature birth or a hospital stay, you want to keep updated as quickly and efficiently as possible," said Sona Mehring, founder and executive director of CaringBridge. "This iPhone app gives people an additional way to hear about a loved one's health news and show support -without even sitting down at a computer."

CaringBridge also is adding a mobile-optimized website to provide a streamlined experience for anyone visiting CaringBridge from a web-enabled smartphone.
