Eagan, Minn. (Dec. 29, 2009) —
Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities, recently announced that CaringBridge earned its top 4-star rating for the 3rd consecutive year for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.
According to Charity Navigator, only 13 percent of the charities they rate have received at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that CaringBridge consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates CaringBridge from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.
"We're very proud of our 4-star rating," said Sona Mehring, founder and executive director of CaringBridge. "Much of our funding comes from individuals who use CaringBridge and it is important to recognize that their donations work directly to fulfill our mission of building a global community of care powered by the love of family and friends in an easy, accessible and private way."
CaringBridge provides websites that connect loved ones during a serious health event, care and recovery. Through a CaringBridge website, families can easily update those who care allowing the primary caregivers to focus on the person who requires healing. Supporters stay involved by visiting the site to read health updates, view photos, and leave messages of love and support in the guestbook.
