Eagan, Minn. (Nov. 19, 2009) —
CaringBridge delivers hope each day to families facing a serious health event by providing a place for loved ones to post messages of support and encouragement. The nonprofit provider of free, personal websites is asking its supporters to help deliver hope this holiday season by donating to CaringBridge.
When a family experiences a challenging health event such as cancer, premature birth or a serious injury, surrounding them with support is essential. When this happens during the holiday season, the need to feel connected is even stronger.
"It's always tough for patients and caregivers to share news, this is especially true during the holiday season. Attending seasonal gatherings is often difficult - because of health concerns or because of the questions being asked," said Sona Mehring, founder and executive director of CaringBridge. "Imagine the feeling of isolation felt by so many people who can't enjoy time spent with family, friends and neighbors. Having a CaringBridge website helps everyone know the latest news and provides hope, healing and connection."
Through a CaringBridge site, families can easily update those who care allowing the primary caregivers to focus their energies on the person who requires healing. Family and friends stay involved by visiting the site to read health updates, view photos, and leave messages of love and support in the guestbook.
A thoughtful note, a precious memory, kind words and prayers - message by message, CaringBridge delivers hope to families during a serious health event, care and recovery. Online CaringBridge communities have shared millions of caring messages, helping each other stay connected when support and encouragement are needed most.
