Eagan, Minn. (Feb. 13, 2013) —
CaringBridge, the nonprofit caring social network that connects people during any type of health event, named Barb Farrell its 2012 Volunteer of the Year. The Volunteer of the Year is selected based on a combination of years of service, commitment to the mission of CaringBridge, volunteer hours, dependability, flexibility and reliability.
Barb began supporting CaringBridge in 2002 as a donor, board member and volunteer. Her contributions include recruiting board members, implementing board self-evaluations, helping develop an Advisory Council and serving on a variety of committees.
“CaringBridge is an answer to my prayer,” said Barb. “When we have friends or family going through a difficult time and there is so little we can do or say – CaringBridge is something that helps. I volunteer because I have total confidence in the integrity, commitment and sincerity of the CaringBridge staff, board and volunteers to support the mission.”
“Recognition is a cornerstone of the CaringBridge volunteer program,” said Christine Mages, volunteer engagement manager, CaringBridge. “It is how we acknowledge the hard work and dedication donated to our organization by supporters of our mission.”
CaringBridge touches more lives every day thanks to enthusiastic and motivated volunteers. To learn more or become a volunteer, visit amplifierhub.caringbridge.org, an online community where CaringBridge volunteers can connect, share and learn about opportunities to help.
