Thanks for sharing Mitchell's page with me. I remember when our church family first heard Mitchell's news. He was so tiny, how could this be? Wow! That seems like a long time ago and now I sit with him here in kindergarten. Miracles do happen! I am excited about honoring Mitchell and his battle with "the ugly monster" through Relay for Life. I will do a very brief bio and send it home for your approval and correction before I publish it for parents to read. Thanks for your help!

Hey there Mitchell, how are you doing? I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!! Did I ever tell you we found some bunnies in our backyard recently. Actually, our dog did - the kids were in the pool and she was barking like crazy under the pool deck. Finally when we checked there was a bunny nest with a baby bunny in it. Then after more looking through it we found 2 more. So since I have 3 kids and there was 3 bunnies, they each named one. We left lettuce and water and carrots out there but it was never touched so we dont think the mom came back. About 2 days later we took them in to feed them and we had them a week, feeding them kitten milk from a kitten bottle or dropper. They were SO cute! They called them Jean, Robin and Nibbles. My son Gooch called his Jean, named after Jean Smart in XMen. They opened their eyes while we had them and by the end of the week we had them they were running all over, more running than hopping. My husband was convinced they were going to grow up and bite our fingers off, so we turned them over to a Childrens Museum that is a wildlife rehab center near us. I hope they are being taken care of, if they werent already released. I know the kids loved them and they really were cute!! That was our thrill for the summer – school doesnt restart here until Aug 27th so we have a little more time yet...

Is Mitchell on Bactrim? Cody popped up after being on it for quite sometime with a rash that decided was drug induced exyema (from the bactrim) check into it...that may be your culpert?
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers...we were glad to read the update...I will pray that the crud stays out of your house and everyone stays well...
We have "stations" set up with hand sanitizer and Lysol...whenever youwalk past you do your hands and spray whatever you want...almost like a ritual (is that normal?)

Hope all is going well with you. We're still in the midst of a DEEP freeze here, so not much has been going on. It's supposed to go all the way up to ZERO tomorrow though - almost like a heat wave!!
I'd love to hear a couple funny Nemo stories - my cats have been acting up lately, so I'm wondering if it's everyone's animals or just me?
I'm on the hunt for some more good jokes, so keep checking back, you never know when I might send you some!
Take care everyone.

It was really nice to find your guestbook entry...I just love reading those things...that's why I am writing to you again...I figure that people just don't realize how much it means to have that smiley hello waiting there when you log in...
We were supposed to get out of here yesterday but they nixed that idea because of some very low sodium and magnesium levels...aside from that we took a big step back and are now back on TPN (nuturion maintenance) because Cody was just not able to tolerate his feeds (at least we hope that is what it is)
Anyway...our spirits are bright and we are hopeful that maybe today will be our day...
We hope to hear from you again soon!
In the meantime, your family is in our prayers...

Hi, stopped by to see what the news is at your place this week and to see what Nemo has chewed up lately. I love our beagle, even if he is the master destroyer. He is also really fat and wants to eat all the time. Glad the boys had a fun time sledding. No accidents make it all the better. Prayer that your family stays on the healthy track.

Hello to all
Glad to see your entry in Miranda's site and thought I would hunt down this mysterious writer. As a fellow cancer parent it is nice to see other parents signing in too.

When all is bleak I go to her site for a sence of hope and reassurence. According to my wife I have no sence so I have to find it some where.

Wanted to stop by and say high and keep up the good fight Mitch.

I have a joke for you...
How do you catch a squirrel?
You climb up a tree and act like a nut!!

I should probably warn you, I have a pretty strange sense of humor. I find some pretty silly jokes rather funny, so I hope you at least giggle at some of these. Have a good week!

Wow Mitch, sounds like you guys are doing great. Congratulate your brother on the honor roll for me!
My friend Amie & I are trying to raise awareness for more kids' sites and get more support and prayers going. Many of us are in the same situation of having our lives turned upside down. If you havent already, soon you will be getting guestbook messages from someone who had "adopted" you (if you dont want to participate just let us know and we will understand). We know the encouragement from others is important, and even if you dont feel you need it, someone else may be visiting your site and drawing strength from you and how well you are doing! We will be praying for you .

Greetings! I just e-mailed you for your url and went to Cameron's guest book and found it. Thank you for signing it and now I do not have to wait for the return e-mail. It is funny reading about Nemo, our beagle also chewed up the chair legs as a pup. Now our old dining room chairs are really beat up. We gave him a knotted piece of rope and he likes that quite well, leaves the chairs alone but I still do not trust him when it comes to shoes. I will not leave one around for him since I was litterly barefoot just before Christmas as he had chewed up my last pair of shoes. I taped it together to wear to the store to get some more shoes. But gotta love'em anyway. Those big brown eyes win you over always.

Such a well written update, I am glad things are going well for your family and for Mitchell. Funny things Beagles! I always wanted one and a couple of years ago my husband visited his family in Okla and ran into an ad for a minature Beagle. He quickly bought a little male dog and drove him all the way to our home in Seattle area. This was the cutest little dog, and he was a mini beagle. Well guess what That Okie Lied. Our now minature Beagle is about 16 inches tall and weighs over 45 pounds. He chews up everything in site, mostly underwear and shoes, and eats like there is no tomorrow. Here's hoping Mitchell's puppy does not follow suite. God Bless and thank you for the e-mail. Stay strong Mitchell and grow faster than the pup.

Mitchell...I cannot believe that you are 4 years old! It just seems like yesterday that you were in that hospital crib....yes i said crib...hiding behind that Sassy. Even at such a young age you were so smart that you kept your Mom and Dad on their toes throwing sassies in the floor and they had to keep a cup full of clean sassies so when you dropped it you could have a new one...we had to keep you away from those germs! I am so proud of what a big boy you are and that you are almost finished with treatment. My Mom finished her chemo and her 6 month follow-up studies are clear...Praise God! Keep up the good work and we can have our joint end of treatment celebration.....Love to All!

Dear Mitchell,

I have a beanie baby made just for you. I will give it to your Aunt Cindy to bring to you. If you ever need a baby sitter please call me.

Maybe your Aunt Cindy can bring you to my house this Christmas to see all my decorations.

Love & Prayers for you, Bonnie

What a precious little guy you have. He looks so sweet and so.......healthy. It sounds like he has been really enduring a lot. I attend church with Grace Cain's family and just wanted to say that along with the Cains, we are also praying and thinking of your family and the Powells. Sometimes this mean old cancer thing just seems to be in an epedemic state. Take care and know we have you in our prayers.

Hey Guys -
We also met the Powell's at Brenner's. They have been such a great support to us. I hope that we will get to meet you in person sometime soon. We'll be in for Chemo November 20 - 23. Until then know that we will be praying for you. Hope you have a great day!
