Hello. My name is Kevin Cale, and I am from Ahoskie N.C . I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when I was 12 years old and have been living with it since that time. I am now 33, and I need your help.
My chance to beat this battle depends on having a double lung transplant. I am waiting for organs from a donor, and I'm on the transplant list at the hospital in Chapel Hill at UNC. I was given a pager that will notify me when a donor had been found. I am waiting for that call so I can get on with my new life that has been waiting for me. I could be paged today, next week, or six months from now. It's just a matter of playing the waiting game.
Well let me tell you a little about myself. I graduated from Hertford County High School. From there, I worked on the farm with my Dad for a few years, until he quit farming. I then started working at Wal-Mart unloading trucks, and in a short time I worked my way up to being Support Manger for the entire store. I pretty much did everything, from selling building materials to duck calls.
In Oct.2003 my working career ended due to my health. I had been working 50 to 60 hours a week, but that came to a complete stop when my CF got much worse. Since October 2003, I have been in the hospital 14 times.
What I need your help with is after my transplant both my mom and I will have to live in Chapel Hill for 3 to 4 months for rehabilitation. The surgery will cost approximately $250,000. I will be on medication for the rest of my life (20 pills a day). The pills I will be taking will cost 10,000 dollars a year, but it will be worth it. So what I am asking from each of you is a $1.00 donation. If you can't make a donation, please keep me in your PRAYERS, for GOD conquers all. Thank you for your time and GOD BLESS you all.
