Jade Cameron McNeill

Welcome to Jade's Web Page.

Journal

Jade was born July 13, 2000 a healthy 9 lb. baby. On January 7, 2001 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. At this time she had some spread to the spine. She immediately underwent chemotherapy (vincristine, cisplatin, cytoxan, VP-16) from January - May. In June her tumor was fully resected. The tumor was discovered to be a very aggressive type - (PNET)Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor. She continued with chemotherapy from August 2001 - February 2002. She rested for five months before her MRI of July 2002 showed that the tumor was coming back. We then decided to try another type of chemo called carboplatin and vincristine. Jade had an allergic reaction to the carboplatin and we discontinued it in February of 2003. The doctors decided to wait until her MRI in April to decide the next step because she was doing so well. Her MRI of April 8, 2003 showed that the tumor had grown very aggressively and was spread all throughout her brain. The doctors could only offer some things that could prolong her life at that time. We couldn't bare to see Jade endure anymore painful treatments, and so we decided not to pursue any further treatment and let her rest. She got her angel wings on June 21, 2003 and is now at peace with the Lord. Despite all the treatments she had to endure, Jade was an extremely happy little girl who touched many lives. Everyone she encountered immediately fell in love with her. This is our proof that Jade was truly an angel sent from heaven to carry out the Lord's work. We thank the Lord for entrusting us with her and for lending her to us to love and care for. We Will Always Love You Jade! Until we meet again in heaven above...
