Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

I'm sure you know that, and I want to tell you what a great name it is to have when you have cancer! So whenever you get not-so-great news (which I pray you won't, just like any other kids with cancer) you can tell yourself that you're Esperanza, you're Hope, and you will keep having hope and that will get you better! Hi, my name is Danovan Valentin, I am 15 years old and I have also been a cancer patient for the past few months.
In March 2004 I was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. But thanks to God I am now fully recovered and I learned that if you have faith miracles can happen. Be strong and no matter what happens don't lose faith. I pray for Esperanza’s full recovery.

Hi. Just checking in again and sorry to hear of your own medical situation Steven.......difficult enough all on it's own, not to mention the stress and trauma of dealing with a life threatening issue with your daughter........I hope you are able to get things under control as much as you can with the MS so that you may go on to live as normal a life as you can with it. I guess the silver lining in that though is that it keeps you safe from the potential upcoming war.....although I'd like to say thank you for all you have done up to this point for our country.

I'm glad things are looking good for Esperanza too, and hope only to hear that the results from Alabama are just confirmed that all is well.

Good luck with the transition from Army to civilian life/benefits etc. and with Esperanzas future progress.

You have a world of support all around you, and if you do move back to Denver, I hope to someday meet you all whenever I go back home to visit. I hope all goes well with your move and reuniting family.

Glad to hear about Esperanza. I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with MS. I couldn't remember Esperanza's website and I ran across it on Chubby Chica--Gooch's place. It has been such a long time since we have talked. The last time we saw you all was when we were at Duke with Elizabeth. It has been a difficult road since Elizabeth left us. It will soon be eight months and nothing is the same and never will be again.

I've checked in often, but haven't had time to sign........I am one of the members of the JMML support group and just wanted you to know you have a family there whenever you need it. We are all in different stages of treatment, etc., but we understand where you are and what you are going through. My son, Brian, has had two transplants.......the last being 3 yrs ago, and he is currently leukemia free......he had lots of the same complications you are going through with Esperanza, but he has survived, so never give up hope. One day at a time, is all you can do. If you need anything, please, just ask.
