Saturday, June 26, 2004 10:33 AM CDT Howdy! How is everyone? Everything is good here in NC. Hot, hazy, humid, rainy. My mom just came to visit for about 10 days. She left this past wed. to go back to Denver, CO. We had a good visit. We all went to Carolina Beach last weekend. It was cool! Esperanza turned 4 last Friday, YEAH! Praise God ,she has been here on Earth for another year and more to come!! She started getting all of her baby shots all over again in May and she goes back to get more next month. The doctor was very pleased to see how well she is doing. Also, very GREAT news to report, she is eating finally. Thank you LORD. We all went to Outback for my wife's b-day, the 14th and we got her the mac-n-roo n cheese and she ate almost all of a very large kids order. I was so amazed. Since then, she has been eating waffles, pancakes, maruchan cup o noodles, pizza, mac n cheese. She is still drinking pediasure but not much and I think her body is experiencing HUNGER. It is incredible. Her doctor told my wife that because she was still on pediasure, she needed to go to see a gastro doc and then go to a special hospital in VA to go thru feeding therapy but not anymore thank GOD because she is eating and getting heavy too. Her hair is soo curly, Shirley Temple style, for real. She is so cute and she is definitely going to be a knock out when she grows up!! We went to the Rainbow of Heroes walk last month, we donated $149 that my co-workers, and friends donated, thank you, and got some pics so I'm going to be putting them on the website so be sure to check them out, okay.
On another note, I had another attack (MS) on Memorial Day weekend and went into the hospital for 3 days again, and I was out of work for 2 1/2 weeks. What happened this time was the right side of my face was numb, muscles twiching and my face was crooked. My cheek muscle on right side was pushing up to almost close my eye. Had fatigue and trouble walking again. My doc said I'm having too many attacks and changed my med. The one I was on was a once a week intramuscular injection, very small dose. I am starting a 3 times a week, higher dose injection that is like a diabetic shot, (smaller neeedle) this coming mon.. Hopefully it will work better than my past treatment. I did get a pay raise at work and put in for an even higher pay raise so hopefully I get it. I can't afford to be out of work for that long, it hurts my bank account. This is the 2nd time this year for this long. Be praying for me as well as for continued prayers, praise and giving thanks for Esperanza.
Remember to check the pics. Talk to y'all later. GOD Bless and thank you for all your prayers. Steve, Deysi, Esperanza, Jenifer and Mauricio
