Wednesday, August 17, 2005 10:43 PM CDT Deiah is moving into the dorm! I guess this sounds crazy that the family of a 20 year old would have any problems with their daughter moving 15 miles away into a dorm - but there it is. Josh lives in Fort Collins Colorado now and is in graduate school. Deiah has had her trials and tribulations. I don't know how other teens who have gone through 2 1/2 years of chemo fare. It has been tough - but we seem to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. To other parents of children in adolescence and on chemo - seek counseling during treatment and after treatment. Things have changed drastically for your young person and though they seem strong and reliant - don't be surprised if they experience some difficulties progressing past the chronilogical age when they were first diagosed (emotionally) Live and learn. HIPA has made it hard for doctors to share the problems they observe among the patient population. We are doing pretty well. Empty nest. But it has the potential to be very good for every one. Thank you for your interest.
