Bonnie Claire's Journey to Triumph!

Bonnie Claire was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, stage 2 w/fav. hist. in Dec. of 2003. After 6 months of chemo...we were "all clear!!"
A routine, follow-up CT scan in mid-October showed the beast is back...in both lungs. We needed a miracle...we are praying for God's will to be complete healing and for our family to have the strength to accept whatever His will is.
*We can send prayers of praise to God!
We are now - as of April 26, 2008 - THREE years off treatment for the relapse>

"Someday, God willing, we are going to beat all odds and make childhood cancer a thing of the past."

Bonnie is doing very well. It is amazing, still, to realize she is SO OK.

There are many in our Wilms Community that are not doing “so OK” – and our hearts are breaking. Please visit the Kiwi Angels link below and pray for these children and their families.

Much of the time, I find myself wondering why I still update. But – after seeing what some of these new “Wilms Warrior” families are going through – I decided they need to be able to see what really CAN happen. When Bonnie was first diagnosed (back in Dec. of ’03) – I could only find heartbreaking stories about kids with cancer. And, even more so when she relapsed in October of 2004. I found so many nightmare stories of children who had “relapsed” – so much suffering and heartbreak. I know now that it is because those that have moved on to the “No Evidence of Disease” status have moved on and put cancer and all its junk behind them. And, while we are doing that, too – we want others to be able to find Bonnie’s site – and see that even when the statistics are against you – survival does happen. Our family found very little hope when Bonnie relapsed – and I want families to find hope in Bonnie Claire’s story.

So – please, pray for these children, and take a minute to offer a word of encouragement. I can tell you that it really does help to know someone is praying for you!

Sunday is Mother’s Day. Not only am I blessed to have an amazing Mom, but, I feel blessed to be the Mom to AMAZING children! I know we are supposed to stop and show appreciation to our Moms, but, I can’t help but think about how much I appreciate being Mom to my kids. I am so thankful God chose me to raise these wonderful people!

Sunday is also our wedding anniversary! Again – I know I am blessed. God gave us strength in our marriage when many other marriages would have crumbled – and God deserves the glory!

Thank you for checking in and thank you for your prayers.
