Well, it is another year and AMya has decided to make mommie squirm again. Her lung functions have decline some and she has started back to Duke every month again. She has had additional allergy tests and all was well with those. I think food allergies will be in the books for the next test to do.
However, she has entered into a study with the lung association trying to see if acid reflux and asthma are connected. This is a six month study and has provided me with additional info on where Amya's health can be helped.
Unfortunately, we have just had our house tested for mold and moisture. We have mold growing in our walls. Thus, we have a lot of remodeling to do before we will see Amya's health condition get any better.
She needs us to get rid of the carpets, replace them with hardwood floors and have a hepafilter system put in.
In addition to fixing our mold problem for good.
I have removed most of the molded drywall and ceiling tiles at this point and we will have a plumber come in and fix the leaky plumbing so this won't happen again.
Yesterday I took bleach and spray every surface I could and scrubbed until my hands could no longer hold the rag...my house smells like bleach, my hands are screaming for cortizone shots, and my body is aching, but it is all worth it for my baby.
Amya currently is still cheering when her health allows it, but the gym she WAS going to had NO airconditioning making it very hard for her to stay on an even keel. Heck I couldn't even leave there dry and I was sitting and watching he!! So we have decided to place her in a new gym that is currently being built and will have full airconditioning in it. Her current gym coach is opening that new gym and is aware of Amya's challenges. I am so thankful for that. THe name of the gym is "Rock Star Cheer" and we are going to party like a rock star in the cool airconditioning!!! Oh YEA!
Amya is amazing and has managed to get her roundoff back handspring tuck, her double toe touch-double backhandspring, and is working her layout. For a child with her challenges, she is so awsome! She is my inspiration.
When I feel like I just can't go on, I just hold her in my arms and look at her. She is the most stubborn, hard headed person I know. THANK GOD!
I love her with all my heart. Please pray that we will get enough donations and wonderful people to help us get our house in a living condition that Amya can be healthy in.
In the meantime, I am looking into moving her and I into a hotel room somewhere close to home so she can be by her daddy and her siblings. This way I know she is safe and we can keep her asthma under control. The last thing we need is to have her get sick and end up in the hospital! We are headed to Duke for her PH Probe next Friday the 31st. I will try to update then.
TTYL and God Bless Everyone!!
