Hi Toni and Graham,
Last time we wrote Spring had arrived and now we're watching a picture book snow covered landscape get another dusting of snow... Back in the land of my birth it's 49 degrees C / 120 F and the bush is incinerating.. Paco told me once about wanting to see the colours of Australia.... these I think he would have passed on.... TREMENDOUS TO HEAR YOU ARE BOTH SO BUSY AND ALIVE !!

Hi Toni. Just wanted to drop you a line to say I'm glad you're doing better and that, like you, I still think of Paco often. Life goes on but the impact of some people stay forever. Not sure if you know, but i've been in kidney failure for 15 months and am on dialysis while i wait for a kidney transplant. It's pretty tough but more or less a curable disease. I just went on disability, after working 13 months full time as a reporter photographer, so it's a little weird having free time. I've taken up surf fishing again and I'm back to pickin banjo more. I have my own caringbridge site under georgewhite if you would want to take a look. You're the one that turned me on to the site and it's helped a lot. All the best to you and yours, George White.

Bob and I think about you often and talk about our good fortune to have met you and Paco (years ago at the Danbury Mall) and have some of your art, as well as Paco's. Our grandson Graham graduated from high school in June and is now busy talking college courses. Our youngest daughter surprised us last February by adopting a darling baby girl. Such fun having a little one around. Take care of yourself and know that there are many of us who share some of your memories. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi, Toni. I'm glad you've kept this site. I do think of you often. I'm glad to hear the two of you are doing well. My husband passed away the end of March, so I can relate to some of what you've been through. Bill was older than Paco, of course, and I don't have to worry about raising a young son, but we're never ready to say good bye. I'm still working and spend a lot of time with my 3 1/2 year old grandson. He sure is a pick-me-up. So sorry to hear about your dad's challenges. I wish him the best. Take care of yourselves. Hugs, Ellen

I was so happy to see your latest posting and to find that you both are again engaged in life and enjoying each other and the pleasure that interaction and activity can bring. Toni, your love for and delight in Graham just shines from the words you write! :) Sorry, though, to hear of your dad's illness - life just keeps coming at us, doesn't it? Hi guys. Well July is here and is it ever hot. We have had 1 1/2" of rain since mid May so needless to say it is also dry. My new position as principal is keepin gme busy as is my son who is 4 going on 24! I relish my time to paint, and still I think of Paco every time I wield one of those big brushes he was so fond of. Gidday Toni and Graham, spring has sprung in Germany too - we had 80+ degrees yesterday and Frau Hough and I took the bike out and rode to Emden a port on the North Sea coast - temperature there was 10 degrees cooler in you money. Not unlike you we had late snow - one only in March would you believe ? The UK had the same snow day and it gridlocked the motorways - we're just not used to it like y'all in Montana.... As always, we think of you often and are so pleased to hear you feel like you are finding some peace. Graham - give that dirtbike all it's got and then some mate. When yer ready, I've some mates in Queensland who simply go bush for days on end on their bikes :-) Loadzaluv to you both and all yer pals....

It's been a very long time since I've written, but I do keep up with you through your entries. It has been so good to watch how you have progressed through the grief and learned to find happiness again on this life journey. All the while, it seems, you have not missed a beat in the motherhood department. You and Graham are blessed to have each other. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You are a very strong, very brave lady and I'm proud of you!
Sincerely,

P.S. I still think of you every time I hear anything about Elton John or his music! Can you believe that was 35 years ago??

It's been quite a while since we've written. Charity has been really busy with her new job. Bill has been busy with several operations (nothing serious) and his various consulting positions. Will stays busy with school and soccer. Even though we haven't written we do think about you guys and hope one of these years in the near future we get back out your way for a visit. If by any chance you every travel down this way we hope you will stop by to see us.

To the Surfer and Dog Handeler..........

O.J. Simpson called and wanted Jan and I to help him find the real killer and said he thought the real killer would be hiding on a tennis court or golf course. I of course wanted to help in any way that I could so we headed for Hawaii (Kauai) for three weeks and then on to Palm Springs
and La Quinta for three weeks. Also looked in Hilton Head and Amelia Island but to no avail.

Called O.J. and related the sad news that he would have to continue his search of the worlds greatest golf courses by himself.

Graham....while in Hawaii , I caught a few 60 footers and hit the trough backwards to make it more exciting.

If that pup grows into her ears and feet , it will end up 6 feet tall and weigh 300 pounds.

We also have been having snow off and on. I am anxiously awaiting the global warming I keep hearing about.

Hope to see you soon. I can't remember who's turn it is to buy ? Jan just slapped the back of my head. Seems she remembers.

Toni you should check into the shops in Boulder Colorado as well as some in a mountain town called Manitou Springs here in Colorado- they all have many specialty weaving shops which would probably be very interested in the product you described. Painted the garage today and enjoyed the break the cows gave me. We are preparing for Jaxson's 3rd birthday party - April 6th. Love always JR Rowen and Jaxson

Toni - Spring has sprung here in Oklahoma. Daffodils were bobbing their golden heads to the soft drops of rain this morning as I drove the 30 minutes to the junior high where I teach. I was glad that the weather was gentle and not inclined to tornados. After school, I was cleaning several brushes for the end of the week and suddenly the colors came to me from paintings at Beartooth. I decided to check your website again and yep, you still have the journal going. Spring break I am cleaning that room of mine out and digging up the paints. I suppose if I am to clean brushes, I should be doing some of my own.

Toni & Graham, haven't written in a while but we've been keeping up with your journal. Charity, Will, and I went to Charleston this past weekend for the Expo...it just isn't the same without you & Paco. This was the 25th year of the Expo and the program contained a date line of the past 25 years with pictures and events. There was a great picture of you and Paco the year he was the featured artist. Wished we lived closer so we could visit with you and Graham but you are never far from out thoughts and prayers.

It's been a while since I have writen to you but I do look forward to your updates. I just received my copy of American Hunter and read an article about a young man shooting his first deer. When I looked at the picture of him, I was surprised that I thought I knew him. But that would have been impossible! Then I looked at the picture of his mother and realized that it was you and Graham. The RGS National Hunt vest was the confirmation that I needed. Hello from your Louisiana Buddies I just got back from Dallas Safari Club Show where Don Edwards and I talked with John Banovich and Kobus Mohler(don't know if thats spelled right. John had sold all originals except his largist piece, he also sold several Giclee's. Someone stole Kobus's brand new trailer and several of his pieces he intended for this and other shows, but he told us they made a prayer circle and forgave the culprit! Now that's faith for you! And that's positive thinking just like your doing. We love you and Graham and hope you get some snow we counted 12 flakes in our sleet just now and boy are we excited!

Toni & Graham,

My thoughts are with you both as this new year arrives. My mother bought for me "Shoreline Flurries" for Christmas and looking at Paco's signature brought back so many happy memories of seeing you two back in Maryland many years ago. The large print also reminds me of our honeymoon in Haines, AK in 1995 - so fitting that Paco's work touches lives on multiple levels. It will be added to the many other prints from Paco that I am blessed to have on the walls in our home. Our love to you both and the hopes of peace in both of your hearts this new year.

Toni and the great white hunter..........

Just got the bill from the local hospital for 36 hour stay and it totaled $42,500.00 and I got the co pay bill from Blue Cross and it was for $73,000.00 and the bill from Missoula should top $200,000.00 plus $125.00 per week for the drugs I am forced to take for life.

I was wondering if you and Graham could shoot me up a five dollar bill per week to help offset this little set back.

The bright side is that I feel great and they say it might never occur again.....at least until the bill is paid for.

I have always been dead set against anything related to socialism but I am having second thoughts. Socialized medicine is looking better each day. (Not really).

Hope you guys were successful in your hunt.

Jan said for you to ignore this note and that she is tired of my sniveling. Medicare and Blue Cross paid for the entire bill.

Big hugs for you both...........

Hi guys
Thought I would drop a note. I have been doing alot of research since Paco's passing and I am finding some disturbing coincidences. Many, many painters are suffering ill effects from being around benzyne. Some of them have not been exposed for very long 5-10 years. it seems some are more prone to developing Leukemia than others. An illustration instructor at the Academy of Art is suffering right now- go to the Academyofartuniversity.org web site to read more. Keith Parkinson a fantsy artist is another, too many to mention. I am thinking of wtiting an article for Art of the West regarding this. I have been working with Holbein aqua duo paint exclusively since Paco was diagnosed. I recomend all others make similar changes.

Hello again, Toni.

I worked beside you painting ducks. I'm taking college courses in multimedia design now and someday hope to make them dance on a screen. (:

It's been awhile but I thought I would check in on you before starting my assignments this morning. I'm sorry that things are not getting any easier for you. It's understandable... you have lost so much. My heart still aches for you.

I only remember the happy and lively Toni who glowed when talking about her family and her life. Every day it seemed that you had something exciting to tell our table. Simple things like picking berries and baking a pie seemed even more special when you talked about it. You were always willing to share a recipe and it seemed you had many wonderful and different kinds. I have always wanted to try gumbo since knowing you and crawfish doesn't even look appetizing!

Do you remember the story you told us once of buying a lobster and letting Graham (who was only about 2 then) play with it on the kitchen floor before finally putting it in the pot? You said Paco had to eventually break it in half because it was too big!

We rooted for you when Paco was in the duck stamp finals. You kept running for the phone on breaks to hear for word and finally come back with a smile because he was in the top three. We all cheered with you.

I recieved an email last night that made me think about Paco and the kind of person that he was (and still is to so many who knew him) I couldn't start my day without sharing it with you and those who read this. The email was titled 'Reality Clock' and I've placed the url to it below. Paco knew the reality clock. Infact, I think the man should have his name inscribed on the face of it.

Toni, I hope the mediator will help bring some peace into your life. I don't know you any other way than the way that I knew you. It's apparent that Paco was the life inside of you because from your words, that life seems to be gone now too. One day life might not seem so cruel. You have so many who care for you, check in on you and pray for you often. I am one of them.

You loved the movie 'Steel Magnolias' when it came out and the quoted passage that said "That which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger"

Well, I read an excerpt once that I quote now...
"We are here for you. Come sit by the shore with us, dear one."

A friend,
Cindy~

Hello Toni and Graham,
I am an artist living in Memphis, but not famous like Paco),and have visited Paco's website every now and then to view and marvel at his wonderful paintings. I was very saddened when I visited your site today and learned of his passing.I read some of your journal and grieve with your loss.My mother passed away from bone cancer in 1974 and I know what a horrific disease it is. Paco was a good man and you had a wonderful life with him and I know that Graham will honor his memory because he was raised up right by two loving parents - if only every boy had a dad like Paco what a better place the old world would be!
I myself am still single at age 62 and live with my 3 dogs in a very modest little home on a very modest income where I do my art work and teach oil, watercolor, and acrylic classes part-time at an arts and craft store. Pretty lane, huh? I can't believe I never ran into Paco when he was living in Memphis while attending Memphis College of Art. I was born and raised here and attended art school there in the early 70's. I wish I knew Paco, because we have so much in common. I used to be a drummer in a rock and roll band and I think Stevie Ray Vaughn was the "man" and nobody could compare to him playing the blues. I listen mostly to jazz nowdays and would like to get another drum set if I can ever get out of debt.
I too have an incurable disease called AS ( Ankylosing Spondylitis) severe spinal arthritis, and has deformed my back with a bent-over posture. My firm belieif in God and trying to maintain a positive attitude has helped me thru this journey. Also the realization that there really is a Heaven after we pass from this life. I had a near-death experience in 1966 ( a car accident ) in which I died for a brief moment and God allowed me to see what "Heaven" was like. If you want to read about it here's a link to it from my web site: www.johnhelmsgallery.com/mynde.htm
I have received many emails from people all over the nation that My "NDE" has helped them thru difficult times in their lives and may help you in your journey also.
How blessed you are to live in Montana near Jackson Hole! it's a beautiful place and I would love to live there someday -or at least visit it and paint Jackson Hole. Seems like all the great artists like Paco have painted it at some point. Paco leaves a wonderful legacy to the art world and his work will live on for many, many years to come and he will surely be know as one of the greatest artist that America has ever produced. From this day on I will promise to keep you and Graham in my thoughts and prayers and will visit this web site often to see how ya'll are doing.

God Bless You Both,
John Helms

Hi Toni and Graham -- Just wanted to send our love and prayers your way and tell you about an interesting visit I had today.

A nice lady stopped by the store and as we talked, we discovered several things we had in common. The most important one? Loving Toni, Graham and Paco. The ladie's name is Sonia Reid and she has taken two of your workshops. She currently lives here in Georgia, but her family is moving to Breckenridge, Colorado next May.

You know what they say...six degrees of separation and you know everyone in the world...which means lots and lots of love out there for the Young family.

Our prayers and love are with both of you always,

Hi Toni,
Greetings from Mississippi. Summer here may finally be coming to a close. The 95 degree days with the miserable humidity are finally giving in to some cooler nights allowing a sit on the back porch a restful experience. But as you remember, nothing here substitutes for the beauty that surrounds you in Montana. Last year at this time, we were still under the turmoil of the evacuees from New Orleans so at least we haven't had to go through that again. Life will never be back to normal down there. Keep your sights high and stay in touch.

Hello Toni and Graham,
Kevin and I just returned from a business trip to Jackson Hole and thought about you and Paco many times knowing that Jackson was a special place for you both. I'm glad to hear that school is going well for Graham and that he's getting excited about fall hunting. The first time I met Paco and Graham was at the BB Gun Safety class that Graham and Colin took together. From there on ... friends forever! Colin starts his hunter safety class tonight and is also looking forward to his first hunting trip this fall. We miss you all ... Lisa and Kevin

Fall is magic pure and simple. Glad to hear school is going well for Graham. Lost my Grandpa yesterday to a long battle with a brain tumor. Still hanging in school and work, little time to do fun painting but I still continue to learn. I am envious of the hunting trips you guys have planned.

Dear Toni,
I wish these words could take away your pain. After reading your journal I was truely amazed at your strength and courage. My husband died suddenly when I was thirty-eight and my three year old daughter gave me a reason for living. I know many prayers are said for your continued strength to raise your precious son in the way you and Paco would have raised him. Reading about your hunting experience with Graham reminds of so many experiences that I have had similar to that. Now over ten years later, I think my daughter appreciates that I was careful to make sure that she had as many experiences I could make possible even as a single mom. When nights get long, remember your love for Paco will never die and one day you will be together again. That has been such a comfort to me. One more thing, I could not believe that you and your husband went to the Memphis College of Art. Being from Memphis, I hope that you have fond memories of your time here. My daughter and I were just there this past summer. We like to paint, too. Please, email me if you ever plan to come to Memphis.
God bless you and your son. Watching him grow will give you strength.

Toni and "The G Man" ,

It is with a sad heart that I have this bad news to pass along to you so please sit down and take a deep breath.......are you seated ? Jan and I plan to drive to Bozeman and take you and Graham to dinner at the Outback so you have a few days to come up with a good excuse why you can't attend. It has to be a GOOD excuse as I have heard all the transparent reasons why you won't be home.

If you find yourself out of ligitimate excuses and find you have to bite the bullet.........we will see you both at the Outback at 7 P.M. this friday. And please leave your wallet at home so you don't embarass yourself rumaging through it pretending to find some money. Jan does it all the time and it is getting old.

Please wear something nice.........

Just a quick note to say I think of you often, and check on the site. My new lovely bride and I are honeymooning in the area this week, and we stopped at the Old Faithful Inn to see Paco's painting. I was so proud.
I know times are tough.
Just know that there are a whole lot of people out here, that still think of you and care about you, and that will never forget your kindness.
praying for you.

Dear Toni,
I've been trying to figure out the past month what i can possibly say that could matter at a time like this. Unfortunately i know in my heart that there is very little that will ever be said that will stop the immense pain you are forced to endure with Paco's passing. That you were blessed to have known, shared, and comforted him, held such a special place in his heart seems to not fully encompass the life you two shared. Each and every day I look at the last painting i did at your workshop...A simple horsehead that Paco worked on with me...And i see his brushstrokes and remember his laugh. I was blessed to spend two years at workshops with all of you, and the memories have always been with me of not so much the lessons learned, but the quiet time shared at night around the campfire at the old camp. I remember his teasing me about being a "Michigander" and what was that anyway?...And lots of questions about being in radio, something he thought he would have really had fun with. Paco always had a wonderful way of taking attention off himself, and asking others about their life, what they do...He took a real interest, and the following year when i returned and we picked up like no time had passed, i knew i'd made a friend. What an incredible blessing to have had the chance to get to know a man, an artist i had admired for so long. I had so hoped to make it back this coming summer and renew old friendships...Now the though of not seeing the two of you together there saddens me, and i cannot imagine the pain and loss you are trying to deal with. Toni, you were blessed to have shared so much in such a short amount of time with Paco, and while the pain of losing him will probably always be with you, i pray every day that the memories, the laughter shared, the moments treasured will someday replace your tears. I think of you every day, and pray that God will give you strength and let you find peace. Thank you for sharing Paco with us. All my love & prayers, Pam

Gidday T&G,
Sorry it's been a while. I visit and "look in on you" sometimes, and don't always leave a message. RIght now you sound cranky with yourself Toni - as if you shouldn't feel robbed.... I can only imagine it's a pretty natural reaction, and toughening of some parts also sounds fairly predictable when wounded and trying to heal.... I'd also lay money there's parts of you that are impatient to "get on" and that creates turmoil too.... I have every faith you two will come through this you have already shown your individual strengths and courage - they will win out. I'm absolutely sure of it. I just can't promise when darlin. But I believe in you both as we believed in him. Keep takin care Toni, you too Graham. Loadza hugs and squeezes from across the pond.

Hi Tony and Graham,
You have no idea how many times I have thought about you since the discovery of Paco's illness, or how many times I have said prayers since his passing and sent them on the wind. I read your journal on a regular basis and I hear your pain with each note you write, but I'm also glad to read that you are trying very hard to move ahead with the things that you enjoy. Graham seems to be adjusting quite well and is now creating the path that you both must follow. Take his hand and walk together, side by side.

Toni and Graham........

Just returned from North Carolina as one of my granddaughters got married to a complete dingaling with the mentality of a mature cucumber. No job and said he was "Looking". I kept my mouth shut and gritted my teeth.

Jan is thinking of a part time job as a travel agent and I think she will be specializing in "Guilt Trips". I think I will end up with a couple of million frequent flier miles.

I have been giving some thought on writing a book on my golf game. Here are a few titles I have been kicking around so please give me your opinion .

How to line up your 5th putt.

How to hit a Nike from the rough when you hit a Titleist
from the tee.

How to avoid the water when you lie 8 in the bunker.

How to get maximum distance off your shank.

How to relax and look nonchalant when your taking your 5th stroke off the tee.

Crying and how to handle it.

How to rationalize an 8 hour round.

Take your pick and get back to me. So far I haven't found a publisher.

Hope this finds you and the "G Man" in great health and high spirits and the "Golden Bird of Paradise" will fill your plate with everything you need.

Hi Toni and Graham,
Here in Denmark the land is just coming to life for spring, I have been out plein-airing, but something is missing in this landscape, something drastic, ah yes.... mountains!!!........light, the right trees, the right greens..blues, purples, yellows .... You, Paco and the gang........ but we have castles, sea and flat fields..... somehow it just doesnt work.
What would Paco say...'just paint like you drive and quit whining!'......
So I will, with thoughts of Montana.

Thinking of you.....

Jan and I went to Bozeman to help Toni get her 2nd act together and help her get started producing her world class frames. She said she would take us to dinner along with Dan and Liz Smith. Dan of course is a world class artist of which most of you are well aware. The minute Liz heard I was coming she developed a migrane headache and couldn't come ( I heard she had a miraculous recovery after Dan arrived home ) and we had a great dinner at the Outback as Graham picked the restaurant due to the fact that they served great onions. After a great meal Toni started groping in her purse for her wallet and after fumbling around for 10 minutes I got embarrased and said we would take care of the bill. Went over the next day and found Toni digging away in the front yard trying to line up gigantic creasoted railroad ties for her flower bed and covered from head to toe with dirt and creasote. Went into the shop where she had many frames in various stages of completion and they were excellent craftsmanship at it's very best. Gold , Silver and Distressed with many various styes and shapes. We had several hours of discussions on framing and when she glanced out at the creasoted logs I looked at my watch and said WOW , where does the time go !
Jan just stopped by and told me to put an adendum to this and say not all of the above is the total truth...the framing part is 100 % accurate. Liz I might add had a 100 % recovery and is also gardening.

Toni, I put the letter of rec. that Paco wrote for me to ggod use and decided to apply for a MFA program. I have been teaching now for 7 years and it such a wonderful mix between my own art and teaching others that I will make a career of it. The decision to paint full time or teach at university was a long and difficult trial, but it was my time spent with you guys that helped me to decide. One way to honor Paco is to share his ideas and stories with others so that is the plan. My MFA program is one of the few programs that insists on traditional representational skills and I will be the first student to focus on field painting as my thesis project. I cant say enough what an impact you and Paco have had on my life, but maybe a lifetime of teaching to paint with a big brush and a lot of paint will be enough. Thanks JR Monks

Hello Toni and Graham - I continue to check your web site and I always admire your ability to go on, despite what has to be terrible lonliness and grief. You are both very brave and strong. Toni, somewhere in my memory I saw a note about your framing business. Are you actively framing? If so, do you have a catalog or a web page? Tony is currently reevaluating his framing needs and he wanted me to contact you, and I apologize, but I've misplaced your personal e-mail address. However, I know you check this site very often, so I guess it doesn't matter how I make contact! Tony is holding his own, and actually doing very well, despite the unbelievable illnesses and traumas of the past several months. We return to Houston on May 24 for testing - his last tests were in early March. Only you can understand the fear that strikes in my heart. Enough said - I send love to you both and let me hear regarding frames. Brenda

Toni and The G Man.........

We just returned from another trip to Europe. Landed in Madrid and rented a new Mercedes 650 SXL with all the bells and whistles and toured the continent for 35 days and stayed in Castles and 5 star hotels. Had silk sheets every night and ate steak and lobster every time we had the chance. Gambled in Monaco and won a huge sum of money which more than paid for the trip with a tidy sum left over.
Jan said she was exhausted and wants to take a month off to recuperate. What a fabulous time we had !!!!

Of course the above is a crock but we did go down to Polson ( 30 miles ) and had a hot dog and diet coke and came back along the other side of the lake. Just wanted to take your mind off of grieving for awhile.

Love from the would be travelers..........

Reading the postings on this site has become a ritual for me and I am so very movd by the number of people you guys have touched over the years and at the same time maintaining such a strong family. I am so very inspired to try and live a good life, and leave behind a legacy of warmth and friendship like Paco did. Your friend JR

Jan and I saw Toni and Graham last week and Graham bragged about scoring a 98 on his hunter safety exam and I reminded him that Dick Cheney also scored 98. I was wondering what he missed on the 2 per cent ? Both exhibited hospitality beyond belief and Toni prepared a dish of rice and a Jumbalaya base of shrimp and a bunch of other goodies.
A few tears were shed but recovery is slow but positive.
Toni is like a "Pit Bull" anchored on the leg of opportunity and she is a blur around the house. It was a visit Jan and I will never forget. What a gal !!

To Toni, Graham & all those who loved Paco,

Last night upon opening my Ruffed Grouse Society magazine my heart broke in two upon learning Paco had passed.

I first met Paco & Toni when they were getting started on the Master Artist Tour back in the 80’s. I was working my way through college in a mall tobacco store and Paco & Toni’s display area was right outside the shop. At that time Paco smoked a pipe and our paths crossed. Paco & Toni’s warm and friendly character was infectious and I eagerly looked forward to seeing them when the tour came through Maryland. I fell in love with Paco’s work from the first time I laid eyes on it, being an outdoors nut myself and began accumulating as much of his work as possible. His prints adorn most of the walls in our home today. My first print from Paco was a Rainbow trout, one of his first and despite my objections; he refused money and just plain gave it to me at the end of their week when we first met. It hangs above our fireplace to this day. The following year I graduated to fly-fishing and Paco & Toni invited me for the weekend to their post show “secret campground” near the Shenandoah River. On an overcast Saturday Paco taught me the proper casting, mending, fly selection, strategy, how to read the water, and we caught and released countless numbers of Smallmouth Bass. That evening he taught me how to tie some basic flies and a special knot used for tying a loop at the end of a leader (I still tie the same loop, taught my fly fishing wife and will teach my son “Paco’s Loop”). It was for me a magical weekend that launched me from a love of the sport to a student of angling artistry that I have enjoy to this day with my wife.

Casting my fly rod over rising trout or fishing a quiet run will have a richer meaning for me now. Days in the Grouse and Woodcock fall woods will now be hallowed. My heart is heavy and my eyes brimming for Toni, Graham and all of us who loved one of the Lord’s greatest gifts to us. While on this earth I will never understand the Lord’s reasoning for bringing him Home, other than the Lord needed him more than we did. My solace now will be that during that perfect cast on stream, tying that perfect fly with my son, or holding the perfect shooting form upon a Grouse flush, Paco will be standing just beside me patting my shoulder and saying, “Nice job Tom.”

My family's prayers always.

Dearest Toni - I'll bet all this year's paychecks that Graham sees you as many things....... but as a substitute in none. You are his family and his rock and he will never forget your strength and love and humanity through these years on the good and the bad days. You inspire us from 8,000 miles away - only God and Graham know how much you must inspire him. We too will be keen to see your framing work darlin. All our love Toni and hi to Graham of course too.

Good Morning Toni,
Thanks for your update ... just so you know ... you are not a substitute --- you are the next BEST THING when it comes to these times in yours and Grahams life when Paco had his specialty.
Graham is so lucky to have such a wonderful talented mother to carry on the things that would of meant so much to Paco. You are doing a fantastic job Toni and before you know it ... both you and Graham will be the top marksman in his class!!
We love you as usual and miss all three of you greatly.

Hi Toni & Graham, Congratulations to Graham for his successes on the boards (Snow and School). Seems he's found focus and strength in his grief too. Toni, I'm sure the fact that you want to feel better is the very best sign of all - 14 weeks isn't so long after what you two and three have shared (although it probably feels like decades). We send all our love and best wishes to you two and all your other devoted friends across the pond and across the world.

Toni, you are a constant inspiration and don't ever feel you need to apologize for your tears...no one will hold them against you. Its getting a little warmer here in Good Ol Roscoe Pa. and hopefully spring is just around the corner, Yikes the Grass is actually growing here, thought I killed all of it last year. Last night I watched a new DVD release called 'The Perfect Stranger' and couldn't help but think of you and Graham. It's about Jesus having dinner with a woman who is still bitter and hurting from her fathers death at the age of 12.

Dearest Toni,
Three months is a very short period of time. I know that the pain is intense and almost unbearable but you are doing everything you can for yourself and Graham. Next month, on the 13th, will be 5 years since we lost Austin and even though she remains a part of my thought process each and every day, the pain is much less than it was that first year. The grieving process is just what it is and their are no short cuts or cures for that from which we suffer, "the horrible pain of losing one's soul mate" It always helped me to feel and believe that she was right their with me through all of that, but I just wasn't able to see into that other realm of existence, a place where we are not able to be at this moment, but a place that we all will be allowed to go at some time in the future. Toni, your unbelievable strength, your devotion and love for Paco all these many years never forgetting what that last 12 months were like and your unsurpassed love for Graham will bring you through these times of pain, I know it, all your many friends and family know it. Your strong and your a survivor and life will get better, I promise. Superwoman you may not be in your own mind, but your the closest thing I ever met to it......

All my love and prayers to you and Graham,

Toni..........

Sitting here having my daily vanilla milk shake and Jan said if I don't drop you a line she is going to crimp my straw. I heard by the grapevine ( Pony Express ) that the " G Man " got straight "A"s" again so I want you to ask him if that's the best he can do ?

I invision you with all the machines running and you are covered with sawdust from head to foot and making those beautiful frames and perfecting all the new techniques you mastered at the Frame Show. Jan said if I enroll in one more class , she will cut me back to one shake per month.
My education came to an abrupt halt.

Paco's smiling , the " G Man " is getting straight "A"s" and you are back to work again..........how good can it get ?

Bear hugs from us both....

Toni and Graham- I am sure you have noticed this, but I only recently discovered how I remember small events and times spent with Paco- that at the time seemed insignificant- but now are so very poignant. I guess that is normal. I am still amazed how a family that I met in 96 has had such an impact on my life. I try hard to live a good life so that when my time comes I might have made so many friends. All of this has made me really believe the saying it is not how long you last but how you live that matters. Nothing seems fair about it yet but I am learning to enjoy my family more and to not focus so much on the details. Pacos comment "lots of paint and a big brush" seems to apply to more than painting. On a more light hearted note: Paco once said that once they made a magazine about it it was all but over- well they have a plein air magazine? Love JR

Toni,
One day at a time. You are doing very well, you recognize the stages of grief and are being patient enough to see them through on your own schedule. And it is very good that you are keeping yourself occupied with the frame-making. Doing something creative that you love is healing...I know this for a fact. God's hand is guiding yours as you create each wonderful frame and He is beside you in your time of need. Graham will come to realize what a truly strong and remarkable person you are and will grow to be a strong and loving man. Paco has entrusted you with a gift beyond measure--your son--and Paco will always be a part of both of you. And when you are again able to listen to that quiet voice within, Paco will be there helping you along the journey. You will never be alone. Wishing you comfort, solace and peace.

Although the world was short changed from seeing his most mature work that would have come we who knew him witnessed his masterpiece- A loving family a long list of friends a few dedicated deciples of his honest approach to art and life full of bravado and energy. Well folks , the highlight of the frame show was watching Toni come away from the Bellagios desert bar with a gigantic tray full of French Cream Puffs , Chocolate Cake , Pie ala mode , cookies , pastries with cream filled centers and a host of other goodies. Took two chefs from the kitchen to help her get her stuff over to the table. A look of guilt was apparent but Jan and I bit our tongues and pretended to ignore her gluttony. After 30 minutes of oooing and ahhhhing we made sure she wiped the evidence from the corners of her mouth and we detected a slight smile. We all waddled back to the car and headed for the next class and I promised on my life that I would keep her little secret ( Yeah right !)

Toni took notes on all the material and will be producing the finest frames on the market. She has been doing this for Paco for some time and will now be doing it professionally for artists who want to inhance their work with the finest frames available.

I told Toni that before I leave this fabulous world that I want to meet everyone on the Caringbridge List and give them all a big Montana Bear Hug.

George always remembers Paco's hat and jokes in Charleston. In our hearts, Paco is not gone.We have shared your journal with others here going through this nightmare. We hope to see you again down the road. Though no one can comprehend your pain, we think of you and Graham daily.

Toni and Graham,
I think of you two every single day and hope each passing minute brings a tiny bit more peace. As you say, it is impossible to really know the depths of your grief, but I'm so glad to hear you are making some small progress in the steep climb back. I'm praying for your continued strength, and send warmth and love to both of you.

Hi Toni -

You and Graham are continually in my prayers. What a tremendous loss; Paco was so full of life! I truly admired how close the three of you were at the two workshops I attended. I deeply admire you and am closer than you think. Through my financial services career which includes life insurance, I hear similar stories on a regular basis. I don't know the reason for your tremedous test of faith, but sharing your story with others will undoubtedly help many along the way. Please add my niece, Krista, to your prayers. She just turned one, and is struggling with liver cancer. Paco lives on - he left very large footprints, and spread his joy around.

Toni-
Just wanted to join in on the good thoughts headed your way parade. We recently had a "shed a little light for a loved one" event as part of the Chronic Survival Tour Lung Cancer campaign. Teal lights were lit and names scribed on translucent bags in honor of all those touched by cancer. Paco - and the Young Family in total - had a really big bag that shed a whole lotta light. We'll keep it lit. You do the same.

Dear Toni and Graham: You must surely think I'm not keeping up, but I am. I know you understand. We have only been home one night since New Year's. We returned from Houston last week, only to rush to an ER in Waco hospital the very next day with a blood infection and a bladder infection. I've come home today to check on things, but will return this evening. I don't think very many people would know what I'm going through - other than you. I've thought of you a million times in the last several weeks, and I know you are so aware of the hill we're trying to climb. Tony is probably holding his own in many ways, although we can't take the final chemo due to its severity. We will know in a week or two what is next on the agenda. Please know that I've grieved for you both - and continue to do so. I will try to keep in touch. With much love and sympathy, Brenda

Toni and Graham I haven't visited the sight for some time and am saddened to find the news. Paco was an inspiration! Not just as a painter but a trooper in his battle with cancer. No longer than I knew each of you I developed a respect and love that I will cherish forever. Time will heal the wounds and good memories will be your friend. I hope you will remain in the artworld and perhaps Graham will carry on Paco's dream. Whatever the future holds my prayer for you both will be to dream again and prosper in that dream. Paco would want it that way!!

It is wonderful to hear from you..we're all concerned that you are getting through this time as best you can. I can only inagine the depth of the pain you are feeling but as you've already noticed, grief has many stages and you are surely moving forward, though some days it probably doesn't feel like it. One step at a time, one day at a time. God is there with you and Graham and will give you strength and hope. Keep busy, it's good to give your mind something else to focus on but don't wear yourself out. Take gentle care of yourself and Graham. You both are in our prayers and I look forward to more updates. Dear Toni--I read the sad news on your website only yesterday. You may not remember me but I used to show with MTA back in the 80's, and remember you and Paco well. (I was the lady with the dog and wildlife paintings--MTA gave me a way to make a living while my Dad--and our family--fought his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.) I married soon afterward and headed with my missionary pastor husband to the Interior of Alaska. We used to see Paco's rising work on the 'net (many homes didn't have running water but we had DSL) and in magazines as he followed his dream. I know my few words of condolence don't mean much in your profound sorrow, but know that Jesus loves you in spite of all your pain. Please turn to Him. These are not just nice religious words--He is real. It works. God is as real as the Montana mountains and rushing streams that Paco loved so much. We have all lost a great artist, but you have lost infinitely more. When you feel ready, please email me. You and your son are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Alice Taylor (Sharrock)

I am reminded of the story of the two Tibetan Monks who were walking down a path when they came to a river and saw a woman standing there afraid to cross. One Monk walked up to her and gently picked her up and crossed the river and put her down on the other side. After continueing their journey for several more miles , the other Monk said it is against our religeon to carry a woman and the other Monk replied " I carried her but across the river and you have carried her ever since ".
I have put this to good use many times when I tend to carry guilt and remorse for things I have done or thought about doing. Maybe this is where the " Let go and let God " originated.

2006 is going to bring all of us peace and prosperity and a renewed enthusiasm for everything we are about to do.

Hang in there Toni and Graham !

From the first telephone calls we shared sorting out the details of Wildlife: The Artist's View I could tell Toni, you and Paco, were an incredible couple. Your unbounding support and his talent were a perfect combination. Meeting you for the first time in 1990 only reinforced my intuition that you were a dynamic force. Hopefully your memories and those shared by your friends will help you through this terrible time.

We were sitting a few feet from each other; I behind my easel, Paco behind his. With brush in hand and polished wood pipe braced between his teeth, we began to paint. I remember the intensity in his eyes as they flashed up and down, back and forth from me, to the canvas and quickly back again. Although that day was almost thirty years ago, Paco is still there---in my mind, in my heart. That's just the kind of man he was: He left more than an impression.
I still have that painting; the portrait he painted of me. I expect someday my grandchild will live with it---and the artist who painted it. Forever, dear Paco . . .Forever.

I think the finality Of Paco leaving us for his journey into "Above and beyond" has finally sunken into this old head but instinctivly I keep refering to the site for more news. Paco's brief stay with us has had its great and abundant rewards , such as creating great art for all of us to view and appreciate forever. Creating a great son such as Graham ( Toni helped a bit here ) and continuing the family name. Taking a hank of hair and a rib and creating Toni to be his mate was quite an accomplishment as we have all seen the result of his work in this endeavor. If a man is to be judged by the memory he leaves behind then Paco has set an example for us all to follow. If each town had a Paco , Toni and Graham......what a great place this would be.

Goodbye Paco for now..........

Toni and Graham, I am saddened by your profound loss. My thoughts raced to a little quote which I have done in calligraphy for many people over the years. I thought of your time spent with your wonderful Paco:

How many people in a lifetime are there
For whom we deeply care?
Not so very many.
We don't choose them--
They simple arrive in our love--
And perhaps depart.
Yet they bring with them, however briefly,
All we know of happiness.

My love to you both,

I am so sorry to hear of Paco's passing. As a friend it is hard to write what I feel. It is hard to imagine your pain. May God's love enfold you as you go thru this Christmas season. I've heard that God only gives us as much as we can handle to refine us. Life's experiences seem to bear that out. Since he brought you to this point he will bring you thru it.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

I am so sorry to hear about Paco, It has taken me a few days to send you this e-mail and I really didn't think I would. What else can anyone say to help soothe your sorrow. But! While cleaning and decorating the gun club last night we were replacing the prints on the wall with wreaths and came across pacos grouse print that he had written a note on the back of when he was there a couple of years ago. Not many of us really knew Paco personally but the few times he was with our group he made us feel like we were all his very best friends. I'm sure that wherever he is now the same thing is happening. We will all miss him terribly but I'm sure his new (best friends) appreciate him being there. If there is ever anything you guys need, please just let us know.

By the way, The print is still hanging.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days and especially during the difficult Holiday Season. I will write to you later, sorry that we are so far away and cannot be at the service. I think of Paco often when I see the wonderful painting that Tom and I both have. We are here for you if you ever get the chance to come to Virginia.

God bless, keep well and safe

Love
Ethel

Hello, My deepest sympathy to all in Paco's family. I only met a few of you breifly while dropping my mother off at Beartooth. You all have been an awesome inspiration to her, a very strong woman who has too been battling cancer for many years now. I think that the world is that much more colorful for having had Paco in it,his legacy of the lovely work and the brotherhood he brought to the art world I would only pray continues to grow. Thank you all to the feeling of belonging and the continued support my mother has received from her friends at Beartooth, I hope that somehow you can continue that legacy so that anyone with the talent and perseverance can have the opportunity that my mother was blessed enough to get.

Dear Toni and Graham -
You have been so strong through this journey and we all have learned a great deal -- especially how precious our lives are. We heard a song on the way home from work today and we thought of Paco. The name of the song is "I'm Already There," and the lyrics we liked best are...
....I’m already there. Take a look around. I’m the sunshine in your hair. I’m the shadow on the ground. I’m the whisper in the wind. I’m your imaginary friend. And I know I’m in your prayers. I’m the beat in your heart. I’m the moonlight shining down. I’m the whisper in the wind. Can you feel the love that we share, Oh I’m already there.
And I’ll be with you wherever you are, I’m already there.
Paco will always be there – he lives on in our hearts. Please know we are thinking of you your family.

Toni and Graham,
There aren't any words of comfort that anyone can convey to you now, nor will there be 40 years from now. The only peace and comfort that will eventually come is knowing in your heart and soul that you loved this man, and he loved you both in ways that many of us will never know and only dream about. In that, you have been so richly blessed even though there is so much pain in your hearts now, because our Lord took him so much sooner than you or any of us could ever have imagined. Always know that there are those of us who will keep you in our prayers, and with the gift of time, and your faith in God, your sorrow will lessen to a bearable ache. I am so deeply saddened by your loss of Paco. He was truly a remarkable man and artist, and he has left his legacy through you and Graham. Always remember that the life we live on this Earth is nothing but a blink of an eye from what we have to look forward to, until we are once again joined with our loved ones who have passed before us. I'll pray for strength and courage for you both always. Your friend, Julie Cox

Toni, I am so sorry to hear about Paco! It will be a difficult time for you and Graham for a long while, and our hearts and prayers go out to you both. However, know that his spirit lives and he will be with you both for as long as you live! Only his body has ceased to function! You and he came together for a reason, and to accomplish some goals, then he left, leaving a wonderful legacy. You still have some goals to accomplish in this life, and then you will eventually join him and be together again! I have learned much since my husband passed over, and our lives here are only the tip of the iceberg. God's plans for us are far greater than we can know at any given time! Love and peace, Kitty

Dear Toni, You probably don't remember us, but in l988, while living in Connecticut, we purchased one of Paco's paintings of two Canadian Geese (something we dealy treasure), and a Batik of yours when you were showing your paintings at the Danbury Mall. We talked for ages while you framed some of Paco's pictures. These were big purchases for us -- we had just paid the last college tuition bill for the youngest of our five children and, after walking the mall for an hour, decided we had to have those paintings. We went back again in 1989 and 1991 to buy another of you Batiks and three of Paco's bird prints. We have thought and talked about you often, wishing we could have seen you again. We have a son who is going through the same thing Paco went through and we also have a grandson named Graham. You are very much in our prayers and we are so pleased that we had the chance to meet you both.

Darling Toni and Graham-
As I sit here in tears at your sad news, I was cheered by a thought from out of the blue. I read years ago that Winston Churchill, who loved to paint, once said that when he gets to heaven, that red would be the dullest color on his pallette - boy, can Paco teach him a thing or two!! :)

Toni and Graham,

What can I add except that I am sad and so truly sorry.

If Christmas is as wonderful here, in this cold dark painful world, then just imagine how glorious it must be at this very moment in Heaven...full of celebration and joyful jubilation over Christ birth. If Paco had to leave you to go to be with our Lord, he couldn't have picked a more exciting time to be with Jesus. I guess this year, when God sent out invitations, he just knew the party wasn't going to be a real party without Paco. (:

Toni, your beloved isn't suffering anymore and he wouldn't want you or your Graham to either.
His love will linger as long as his beautiful art will and that will be always.

Many are lifting you both up in prayer to see you through this difficult time,
sending angels to administer, strengthen and comfort you...
I'll bet Paco is standing right there, among them.

God bless you and Graham always.

Toni and Grahm.....I would like to send this poem to you at this time.It is one that holds a special place in my heart.

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven dear ones;
Oh , so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over.
Every restless tossing past;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Tread the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.

And he came himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust of Father's will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You should rest in Jesus'land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Toni and Graham,

I was so saddened to hear of PAco's passing. He was an amazing artist ( I truly have never seen anything like it- so real, I at first wondered if some of his work was a picture you took of old faithful etc and just made it big- I am so in awe by what he did. IT seems to me that he packed so much in in a short time- maybe we all could be that good and learn something- to make so much of each day, to make it fulfilling in all ways.

I have thought about you guys all the time, ever since you left us at Anderson and many of the nurses really loved getting to know you guys. I have never forgotten you guys and it is people like you and Paco that make me better, more grounded , less afraid to show emotion- and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I love you guys and I pray that God will wrap you up and surround you with much love and may your warmth be as radiant as you and Paco were to me.

MAy God comfort and keep you,

Dear Toni and Graham, I exhibited next to Paco at my first national show, the Southern Maryland show in '92. I was impressed with him and his work immediately and liked and admired him more and more as the weekend progressed.

Last year Paco accepted my invitation to join a wilderness canoe art expedition and I was very much looking forward to having him on the crew; a better painter and wilderness compadre I couldn't ask for. We had a good time imagining the wild northern rivers we were going to run. While this is a loss for us all, I know I can't even start to imagine what it is like for the two of you. Toni, now is the time for you and Graham to help each other grieve and heal...and it takes time. Do not rush the process. May God grant you peace and sweet memories of a wonderful life together.
P.S. I can't wait to someday see Paco's "new" studio in heaven. Can you even imagine??!!!

Tony and Graham,

There are no words in the human language that can convey the sense of loss and sorrow that we all feel with the passing of Paco.
He was a wonderful husband and soul mate to you, a loving and devoted father to Graham and he possessed more talent than any person I have ever known. The "Art World" has lost a master artist as well as one of it's best teachers and the "Environment" has lost a champion and protector.

Tony, you have experienced the best and the worse that life here has to offer, but you have remained strong throughout this "journey of pain" and it is now time to surround yourself with all those people who love and care about you and Graham.

Take the time that you and Graham so desperately need, grieving is a selfish process. It has to be that way, in that most people never have to experience what you are going through until late in one's life.

The "Process of Grieving", simply put, is shock, awareness, anger, acceptance and recovery...........it is a long journey, but it is a journey that your unbelievable strength, will carry you through over these painful months to come.

Paco has left our world, but he will always remain here, within the hearts and the memories of all of us that had the good fortune to have called him a friend. He might not be coming back to us, but we will hopefully be going back to join him at some distant time in the future.

I will continue to pray that God wraps his arms around you and Graham and walks with you both, as you travel through this very devastating and difficult process.

When Austin passed almost five years ago, a stranger handed me a poem, within a day or two of her death, that I have carried and read countless times since that tragedy. It gave me strength and hope when I was without either and I felt I was not capable of making it another day through the intense pain that lived and existed within my soul.

If my days were untroubled and my heart always light
Would I seek that fair land where there is no night?
If I never grew weary with the weight of my load
Would I search for God’s peace at the end of the road?
If I never knew sickness and never felt pain
Would I reach for a hand to help and sustain?
If I walked without sorrow and lived without loss
Would my soul seek sweet solace at the foot of the cross?
If all I desired was mine day by day
Would I kneel before God and earnestly pray?
If God sent no "Winter" to freeze me with fear
Would I yearn for the warmth of "Spring" every year?
I ask myself this and the answer is plain-
If my life were all pleasure and I never knew pain
I’d seek God less often and need Him much less,
For God’s sought more often in times of distress,
And no one knows God or sees Him as plain
As those who have met Him on the "Pathway of Pain"

This pulled me through some of those darkest months when I felt absolutely empty inside, I hope that it can do the same for you and Graham.

My deepest sympathies to both of you,

Alex

Hello, I am a friend of Robin's in NC. I want to express my sympathy to your family. I lost my father to cancer at a young age (12), my heart goes out to your family. When my father died my aunt told me a story of what she believes happen when people go to heaven. The story goes that the person builds a home on a fluffy cloud, the home has gardens, running streams and is beautiful. The person sits in or out of the home and watches over all their loved ones. The house being on a cloud floats so they are always there seeing what we do and protecting us. Hearing my aunts story gave me great comfort many years ago and is a thought that I keep deep in my heart.

My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with your family.

Dear Toni, Paco and Graham,
I received your thank you card in the mail yesterday and took a moment to appreciate Paco's lovely painting of the sparrows on the front cover. Paco, I still remember the demo that you did at the Terry Issac Workshop. I have always loved your style; I only wish I could have spent more time watching you paint.
Toni, I read the beautiful note inside and was touched not only by the open courage of your words but that you used some of your precious time to thank us all. Words fail us at times like this, but know that you are all in my heart and prayers. Via Con Dios.

Dear Toni, Paco and Graham,
I know that you are on a very rough road, but God will watch over you and give you comfort even in the worst of times. His strength will be your strength. I know it is hard to believe right now, but this year has been a wonderful gift...you have had time to share with Paco--quality, meaningful, loving time--that so many people will never experience in their entire life. And you have given such a great gift to all of us who wait with held breath and many prayers for your next update. You have shown us the true face of love and Paco has touched each and every one of us with his ability to capture on canvas the world in all its glory. We have learned many things but mostly to appreciate every moment of every day and to revel in our loved ones and the beauty that surrounds us. May you find peace, strength, comfort and solace in your time of need.

Paco............Have been hand feeding a wild turkey for the past year getting ready for Thanksgiving and when I went out to catch the critter he gave Jan and I the slip for at least 2 hours so we figure he must have a calander of his own. Anyway , we gave up and ordered a pizza. I guess he figured he was out of danger as Jan and I were laying back "Burping" when he appeared in the window motioning toward the bird feeder that he was running low on seed. Must think he's safe till Xmas is our guess.
You and Graham and Toni have a great day and make sure there are no hugs left when today is over.

Happy Day to you Toni, Paco and Graham. I will be saying a special prayer of thanks tomorrow to Him for allowing me to stumble into your life a few years back in Charleston. What a great two trips I was able to make to Montana and see a different side of it. The artist side of it. And I don't think a better person/couple could have shown me any better. Especially considering my view up until then was through that of a hunter. Up at 4am back by 8am. And all over again the next day hoping to see something or get something. Wow! So much more to Montana than that! THANK YOU!THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I love you dearly and will keep praying for each of you. Hugs and Kisses.

Hey everyone
Happy belated birhtday Graham. I'm sure it was a very special one this year.
Was looking in the mirror this morning and have solved the puzzle of where Pacos lost weight has gone. 327 lynn st, Roscoe, PA. I could probably double him up if we could figure a way to send him one of my extra chins or luv handles.
Am sure he is gonna gain back a few pounds tomorrow.
Am cooking the yardbird (if it ever thaws in time) myself this year and I'm not sure who is gonna eat most of this monster. Thought I could treat it like a big chicken but I don't think thats gonna work, should've got up all those thanksgiving mornings and paid attention to how things were done. Thank goodness for Mom and the food channel.
Don't forget, this is the most magical time of the year to be with your family, enjoy every minute of it and hope for one of the seasons miracles to come your way.
Thinking of you all every day.
