Marissa came to the US in February of 2003. She had been diagnosed in China with Tetralogy of Fallot. She had open heart surgery in April and was found to also have pulmonary atresia. She currently has a homograft pulmonary artery and valve, and the Tetralogy of Fallot was repaired. She is doing well, but will probably require additional surgery in the future. Please check in from time to time to check on our little girl. She has brought much joy and light to our family!

Wednesday, January 4, 2006 9:49 AM CST Hello Friends!
It has been over a year since I last sent in an entry. I guess the fact that we now have two busy school girls and mom is less than well organized could be one excuse for my lack of updating.
Marissa is doing great! She is now in first grade and enjoying the social life of school, church and family. She will turn eight years old in March. We thank God daily for the miracle named MARISSA HOPE.
The pediatric cardiologist saw her in July and extended the time until her next appointment to eight months, which is the longest time between visits.
She has such a spirit! She can have quite the attitude at times, and thinks because she is older, she is also the boss of her younger sister Natalie, who is five. In early days, Natalie didn't seem to mind the control issue, but has grown up enough now to argue back. Therefore, we endure some bickering from the sisters, although most of the time they are good buddies and friends.
We are so blessed! Mom has been trying to convince dad that Marissa and Natalie need another sister...or brother perhaps? We are busy enough with two girls, but the need in China for moms and dads is so great. We hope that dad changes his mind in 2006!
Thanks to all who read this and say a prayer for Marissa. She is obviously an answer to prayer and a miracle for anyone who hasn't seen one. I have uploaded a newer picture of Marissa and Natalie so you can see just how great she is doing!
Love from the Langguth Family Steve, Cathy, Natalie Jing Jing and Marissa Hui Hui
