Jill's Journey!!!!!!
picture taken Sept. 2005 Jill was diagnosed on 1/8/04 with a malignant rhabdoid tumor (a sarcoma type of cancer) which was wrapped around her spine. On 1/15/04, Jill was air lifted to Memphis, TN. Jill had three rounds of chemo to shrink the tumor at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. On 3/30/04 Jill had a ten hour surgery at LeBonhuer Children's Hospital in Memphis to resect 100% of the tumor. After surgery, Jill had another five rounds of chemo and five weeks of radiation at St. Judes. On 9/21/04, Jill returned home to Columbia, MO to resume life as an active toddler. Her parents are Joe and Joyce Zulovich. Eleven year old Jennifer is her older sister!
Jill returns to Memphis in January 2008 for scans, an MRI, X rays, etc. Please keep our family in your prayers during this time.
Thanks for following Jill's Journey! Please sign Jill's guest book to let her know you're visiting her web page. We will try to update this web page on a semi-weekly basis to let you know how Jill is doing.

Sunday, January 18, 2009 3:02 PM CST We received the BEST possible news while in Memphis for Jill's scans. Jill remains cancer free and has reached the FIVE YEAR mark since diagnosis.
Jill graduated to the St. Jude Survivor's Clinic.
Dr. Warner, the orthpedic surgeon will continue to monitor Jill's back for scoliosis.
We return to Memphis again this summer for a check up with Dr. Krasin. Jill participated in the RT SARC study which is yielding positive results and is helping current solid tumor patients.
Our joy is overshadowed by the fact that our dear friend, Julia, from Bolivia has relapsed with leukemia. They will be at St. Judes until Dec. 2010 for treatments. Please pray for her family. Her family would also appreciate mail!
Thanks to everyone who sent cards, letters and care packages! Jill felt special receiving the large amounts of mail. I'd say she recieved over 50 cards from family and friends!
We appreciate your prayers. They work. Jill has come a long way since diagnosis.

P.S. Jill provided excitement in the new recovery room after her MRI. She was groggy and couldn't cough when the staff asked her to. She had to be suctioned and also received a breathing treatment. The recovery room staff said NEXT time don't be so rough on them and challenging. Dr. B and his staff were on top of it before things deteriorated.
Dr. B believes Jill's recent sinus infection and strep throat caused the excitement while coming out of sedation.
One more note!
Since the Grizzlies House was FULL, we stayed in the Target House! It was great to be back. Jill never gets enough time to play in the remodeled toy room, the craft room and the playground! The girls loved the twin beds in their bedroom at T1; Jill and Jenny didn't touch each other while sleeping!!!!
