SKYLIE'S MIRACLE

Lilypie 5th Birthday Ticker
Welcome to Skylies Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated about Skylie. She was sent by ambulence to childrens hospital from her day care. They called me at work and said that she would not eat and was turning pale. By the time I got to day care the ambulence was there and I rode with them to the hospital. She did not seem sick at all in the morning at all. We were at childrens hospital for one week and then sent to the University of MN to prep her for being on the list for a heart transplant. When they did an echo on her heart the left side was not pumping hardly at all and it has not got much better yet.I will keep you all informed on this web site a couple of times a day. Skylie was listed for a heart transplant on May 18 and her status is 1A.She recieved her heart on June 9,2005

Today we celebrate four years from Skylie getting her heart transplant!!

At times I wonder if it was all a dream. I remember all to well how sick she was and wondering if she would even make it to get a heart watching her everyday as her heart function kept going down. She was so pale for several months on so many medications, on the breathing machine. I remember getting the call from the surgeron that they found a heart for her and they would do surgery in the morning. I could not sleep at all. I remember sitting in the surgery waiting room with my parents and just waiting for some news. When she did come out of surgery she was very swollen but she was so pink!!

THis is a picture of Skylie a few hours before she recieved her new heart!!

We thank her donor family everyday!!! We also thank the wonderful nurses that took care of Skylie.

I look at Skylie today and she looks so healthy!! She runs she plays with everybody and she wont sit still anymore its wonderful!! You would look at her and not know that she even had a transplant at all. Her feeding tube has been out for over a year now!! I could not ask for more.

Here is a picture of Skylie now!!
