Hello ~

It has been 4 years today since we first learned of Shane's Leukemia. I can remember staying in the hospital for the first night just like it was yesterday though. How can time stand still and fly by at the same time? We are extremely proud of Shane and all that he has gone through to win this battle! He is doing great and continues to have great check ups every month. We continue to pray he remains cancer free and enjoys life to the fullest!

School will start next week for the kids. We met their teachers this week at Open House. Shane has the same 5th grade teacher as Nicole had so I hope that helps this year run a bit more smoothly for him. He hasn't had any definite late side effects of the Chemo, but I do wonder if some things aren't related. I don't want to use the Chemo as an excuse either so it is hard to know for sure. His memory use to be so sharp and I came to rely on him to help me, but that isn't always the case now. So it's hard to say if it's just a boy thing or an age thing!

I will try to update a bit more on the summer activites. Mainly for me so I don't forget what we did with all our time!

Please say a prayer for our Camp Sunshine friend Mariah. She is at home with family waiting for her miracle and to be healed here on earth. Her Doctors have said there is nothing they can do medically to help her. And for our Hope Kid friend Cullen who is also in need of healing on earth. Pray for David who had a bone marrow transplant and is having a great deal of pain during recovery. There are so many friends who need our prayers right now may they feel Gods love.

We are off to take family pictures in the morning courtesy of HopeKids! They have given our family so much support and hope and new friends during this journey that I can't imagine our life without them. They are the best!

Have a safe Labor Day week-end! Love, Jody and Shane
