Monday, May 31, 2004 6:58 PM CDT Well....Miss Makayla, I stood in front of the alter once again to watch your Auntie Heather join hands and hearts with her new husband Kurt.
Your picture once again sat near the alter surrounded by beautiful flowers and a special candle engraved with your name in it. This is the second time you have been choosen as honorary flower girl. Once again........I walked down the isle to light your candle before the ceremony began.
We just recenlty celebrated your 3rd birthday, then your one-year anniversary as an angel of God, and then remembering you again as we celebrated and raised our champagne glasses to cheer on Heather and Kurt.
Today, memorial day, I went to your grave to place the flowers that were on the alter in your memory by your magnolia tree. There were a lot of people at the cemetary today. Everyone paying there respects to their loved ones. I didn't stay long. The weather was not very cooperative, and all the commotion from all the other families had me feeling uneasy. I always loved when it just was the two of us. The many nights we spent talking----even though I wanted to go to sleep----and all our walks to the park, the many nights spent in the rocking chair and my favorite---when you would lay on my chest and make your little cooing noises because that was your favorite place to be-------from the day you were born till the day you died.
Thanks for all the memories Makayla. I carry all your memories with me and share them to anyone who will listen. There is never a day that goes by that I don't think about you!! Hope you are having fun with Chloe, Ashley, and Aubrey. I miss you lots.
Love Mommy
