Hi Lisa and family.....Happy belated Thanksgiving!!!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving - had 21 people here for dinner - brothers and families; Jesse and family; Jeremey; my mom; and a couple of aunts and uncles too. Lots of food of course and fun visiting with everyone. Jeremey is still home - will go home tomorrow. Mel and I took Preslie to see the reindeer and Santa at the Fitgers building today - beautiful weather. Tomorrow I do the church services at the Hoyt Lakes and Aurora churches, so I have to get up bright and early. Glad your surgery went well and hope your hemoglobin improves - 8.5 or 8.7 should be higher. Mine is usually around 10 and for me that is good. Mel and I saw Cassie at Party America one weekend when we were shopping. Very cute child!!! Glad to see you are putting entries into this guestbook - I enjoy that. Take care of yourself - say hi to your family. Love, Aunt DeEtta

Hi Lisa & Family.
Long time since I have written to you, I do read the journal every week to keep up on whats happening in your life and your family's. You seem to be keeping very busy, good for you!!! Sounds like you have alot more energy than I do!!! I am still working at The Wesley Residence, I really like it there, the Residents are all so very sweet and the staff that I work with are the greatest.
So you will be over to your folk's for Thanksgiving! John & I and our Dog Ebony will be leaving for Iowa on Wednesday morning, I know it will be the worst day to drive, but we wil have to chance it and get stuck in all that traffic!!! Brian and Angela and Brody and their new little Daughter Samantha will be there for Thanksgiving, they are driving up from Oklahoma, our Nephew and his family are also driving up from Oklahoma. Junior and Pam & Tylor will not be able to make it, she has to work and they really do not have a reliable vehicle. Johnny and Brittany both have to work the day before and the day after Thanksgiving!
So it will be just us going. I think John & I need a short Vacation anyway, we have Junior and Pam and Tylor living with us for awhile. They had to move out of their little house on Grand Ave. and they did not have enough money to get another place as Junior is not working at this time, he picks up little jobs here and there but that's about it. I sure hope and pray that he will find a good job soon.
Brian and Angela and the kids will be coming up here for Christmas, we don't have the spare bedroom empty anymore, as Junior and Pam are in there, we will have to put them on the Sofa sleeper or give them our Bedroom, I really don't know what to do yet. But I am sure we will figure something out.
Can you believe the day today?? It was really nice!! I loved it!!!
I put a few Christmas Decor out, I will put more out when we get back from Iowa . I think we are coming back on Saturday!
I read in your journal that your blood level was low. I sure hope they will find out why! And find a way for you to bring it back up!! I have alot faith in you and I know that they will figure it out for and you will be feeling just fine with alot more energy!!
You must be so very proud of Cassie!! She is growing up to be a very fine young lady and really Beautiful!!
John just got back from Arizona on Friday, he was there for a week, the Foundry sent him there . This is the second time in less than a month that he has gone there. Lucky him!! He has to go again, but not sure when! He said the Temps were in the 80's all the time he was there!
Well Lisa, you will probably fall asleep before you finish this !! HAHA !!!
Take care and give our Love to your Family! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving !!!
You will always be in my prayers! Stay Strong!!!
Love you!!!

Hey Weeza, I miss you. Got your call yesterday. I worked days, Tuesday and Wednesday. I talked to mom last night and my kids got unruly, before I knew it I was in bed. So I will call you this afternoon. I know it is your day of rest (I think-I better look back at your week). Glad to hear halloween was so fun for you and Cassie. Take Care-Miss You.

Hi everyone. I had therapy today, and I walked with a onehanded walker! It was scarey but exciting. Cassie had a halloween party last night. It was fun, we had about12 girls there. It was also a Rocky Horror party. They had all the props and they watched the movie. It was real fun.

Hi Lisa - I was sitting here working on a sermon for next Sunday and since it is going to be on prayers, I was just thinking of all the prayers people have said for you - thousands and thousands. And they have been answered....you are home and even though you have some set backs, you still keep working and God has been with you. I hope your hemoglobin goes up....you really don't need any more complications. BUT remember you will be in my prayers before, during and after your surgery. I love you - Aunt DeEtta

Hey Weeza, I can't believe it is almost a week since we were up there. The kids had a blast at the Edgewater, it was nice. I am glad we did not go over the weekend though (MEA) I heard it was nuts. They have an arcade there now too. Well same-0 here. Work. Swimming on Wednesdays with the twins. This weekend we went to two halloween parties, one at their school/daycare. It was nice-and fun. Then the one at Lifetime fitness. It was chaotic and understaffed. But they had fun. Seth took his friend Jonas. Tomorrow night I work, then I actually am off until Tuesday, I have day training Tues. & Wedn.we are doing some team building stuff etc. Well how are you??????????Do you have your surgery this Friday? Good luck. I am sure you will be relieved to have that done and not have to worry about it anymore. How is your Hemoglobin??? Has it come up at all?? I hope you get some energy back woman. Let me know how things go. Take care-miss you-Love-

Hi Lisa! So glad to see you're doing well and working hard. It's nice to see you typing in this guestbook, too! You look so pretty in your birthday pictures! Happy Belated Birthday! Now you're an age where you have to think first before saying how old you are! hahaha Ok, maybe it's just me. Once I hit the big 4-0, I somehow forgot how old I really am. Not that it's important or anything, though, right? :-) Sure wish I was up in Duluth this time of year. We're still having hot weather down here. We're moving this summer, but don't know where the Air Force will send us yet - hopefully somewhere cooler! The kids miss snow. (Hard to imagine, huh?) Dan wants to go to New Mexico (Albequerque), but Ohio and Illinois are among the possibilities, too. As long as we're together, though, I won't complain (er...I'll try not to, I mean!). Being a single mom of 5 (however temporary) would make me lose what's left of my mind. Well, I'd better start shuttling kids to bed. Take care, Lisa! Say hi to Butch for me (even though we've never met). :-)

Hey there Miss Lisa -
How are you?! I just happened to go into your site today since it's been quite awhile, and Butch had recently put in an entry. I also like the pictures from your your 40th birthday bash! Sounds like Cassie is very busy at school (Go Hunters!) and same with Willie and his schedule! Glad to hear that you are in therapy again and that it is going well.
Figured I should also comment on Andy Strom's wedding since I got in trouble when they first started dating and I mentioned it! Congrats to them!

Hey there, girl!! How is everything? You are the busiest person in the whole world! So glad to see that you are still doing so well! Keep going, my friend! How exciting to have your Cassie cheerleading! Wow! Where have the years gone? You must be so proud!
It has been very busy here at the Chateaus! Now that school has started, even more busy with that! Jason has started NJROTC and just loves it! He wants to join the Air Force after he graduates , and fly jets. Erin is still at LSC, will be going to UMD next year. Is going to teach high school algebra. Erik was working, but then he had to have his 2nd major knee surgery, so had to resign from his job. Today he starts his first therepy. That will be 3 times a week for 6 weeks. He has loose joints (genetic). So both knees are bad. They seem to always dislocate. Next year, his right knee will be next. It has been a long hall! Brian and I are great, just tired!
Well my dear friend, hang in there and keep up the great work! Think of you often and you are always in my thoughts and prayers!!! God Bless,
Love ya,
Connie

Hello Lisa and Happy Labor Day eve..... Summer is almost over and it went by way to fast!!! We had a wonderful time camping with your mom and dad and Bob and Bev last weekend. Jordan has grown so much and Raynah really is a joy to be around. She likes to be busy, but at five what else would you expect. Next summer Uncle Mel promised to bring her a guitar she can play when we are camping - he better make sure he remembers. We have had a busy "Family" weekend - Saturday we had a big family reunion at the park in Virginia and today my aunt and uncle had their 60th wedding anniversary and we started at church this morning and got home around 3:30 p.m. I enjoy visiting with families - Mel's and mine. Actually I guess they are both of ours now. We went to the state fair last week with my brother and his wife and Jeremey also. Ate lots and walked around lots. Our trip to Minneapolis was lots of fun. Well Lisa, work hard on your therapy (and work hard on walking too) and we will keep you in our prayers. Love, Aunt DeEtta

Hi Lisa & all
Just a few short notes to you!! My goodness the Summer is going by way too fast!!
We went to Oklahoma City, O,K on August 8th, we stayed with Johns Sister and Husband in Ankeny Iowa , overnight and then we were off to the great State of Oklahoma!!
We got to Brians house about 8.30 on August 9th.
They had just had their new Baby Girl on August 2nd. What an adorable little girl, she weighed 6lbs 9oz and 19 inches long, she has dark hair like her Mom and Dad, and we think she will have dark eyes also, but I thnk Angela has Blue eyes. Oh well I hope she will have dark brown eyes..
It was a very nice trip, we even took our little dog Ebony, she rode really good, but of course she loves going anywhere!!! All I have to do is grab my car keys and she is right by the door!! Silly Dog!! But we love and spoil her all the time..
We drove through some really boring states on the Turnpike, one was Kansas, all you see is alot nothing!!
Missouri was just as bad.. I guess this is why I Love Minnesota so much!!
We went and toured the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, the one that was bombed 11 years ago and 168 adults and children had lost their lives . It was very interesting and very sad!
It was very hot there, 108 above everyday we were there...
We spent most of the time inside the central air and held our new Grandaughter!!
I took Brody shopping (Brians Son) for School, He started School on August 21st. He will be playing Football, he will be a starting Nose Guard.. He really likes living in Oklahoma, but wait until this Winter, he loves snowboarding and they do not have any snow that stays in O.K!!
But he will get used to it!! His Birthday was yesterday, he turned 13, he is now a teen-ager!! Brian will know what he put his Dad & I through!! (tsk tsk)
It has been a busy Summer. On September 2,Michele Perraults(Johnson) Brother Ricky ,is getting Married. They will be getting Married in Lincoln Park. I hope it stays nice for the Wedding!!
We were going to our Camper at Timberline for Labor Day Week-end. But I have to work Sat morning and the wedding is at 3pm!!
Well Lisa guess I have said all that I can say for now.!!!!!( you are probably thinking>>(thank goodness !!!huh??)
It was good seeing you at the neighborhood picnic. You look FABULOUS!!!!!!!
Keep on keepin on!!! You are always in my prayers and also all of you loving Family!!
God Bless and Keep Smiling!!!!!!!!

Hello Everybody!! My mom said I should write. Therapy has been going well. Walking is a little hard, but I'm doing well on the machines. I'ts hard to believe that November will be 1 year since I came home. I wouldn't be able to do it without my family. Butch has been real good to me. I finished up school shopping for Cassie. Willie has been busy working at Sam's Club. Butch has been golfing well, but last week got nailed in the head again. OUCH!! He's O.K. Please write in. I check the e-mail everyday.

Hi Lisa! It's me, Bret. Sorry it's taken over a week to finally sit down and e-scribble a few lines to you ;) I hope you're doing well and getting better every day!
It was nice to see you again -- not to mention meet Willie and see what an awesome young man he is! Although the circumstances could've been a been a little better, to say the least, I bet you couldn't be prouder!
I saw the pics of you getting 'tattooed' (being at the mall, I didn't think it was anything permanent, but I could be wrong ;) You sure know how to ham it up in front of the cameras! Some things never change...?
My mom's holding up well and sends her greetings. Obviously she's going to need a lot of time to even get within striking distance of 'normal' again. She mentioned the possibility of going out for a soda with Willie sometime -- hold her to it, if you can. She'd love to.
I have no idea when we'll be back in Duluth, but hopefully it won't be measured in years next time. It would be a treat to get to see you (and Willie) again - if you'd both be up for such.
Feel free to email me here at work bret.hayes @ uspto.gov or my less-frequently-checked bret_max @ yahoo.com
Talk to you later. Take care!

Hi LIsa, Wow I can't believe I haven't written in here since February. Where does the time go? All is pretty good around here, Mario feels lousy most of the time but tries to keep on keeping on. He had a couple more stents put in his legs and soon will have to have his carotid artery cleaned out. I have been busy working I am back at Lincoln. Tina and family came home for a few days on their way to Troy's dads cabin in Crookston they will stop here on Saturday on their way back to Chicago. The girls are so beautiful and Jake is getting so big he crawls all over the place. It was nice having them here. I went to Chicago for a week when school was out before I had to start summer school. Tina and a couple of her kids were sick when I was there so I was glad I could help out aliitle. Glad you are doing okay. Hope Butch is too. I saw Jeep at a fundraiser for my cousins son who has cancer. I think of you often and pray that each day you will get stronger. Take care and God Bless. Love and friendship, Cheryl

He WILL continue to be with you and help you every step of the way in all you do!! I am so very proud of you for never giving up!! So many people love you and are praying for you each and every day-that has to mean alot to you! We have so many wonderful memories of our childhood and Chestnut Street! They will always be in a very special place in my heart, forever!! I am so grateful that you were and are a part of my life. God is so great! To keep us friends all these years! I am so very sorry for not being there for you, when I should have!! I was a terrible person and friend to not be with you and help you when you needed it! I again ask for your forgiveness! It has been a rough year for me also! Like I told you at Walmart. But we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us!! I am just so glad that He let me run in to you so I could pour my heart out to you!! I think about you all the time and only want great things for you and your wonderful family!! I will come see you and be a better friend for you!!! You are terrific!! Love,
Your old Pal,
Connie
P.S. Keep on keeping on!!

Hi Lisa....I saw your mom and dad's pastor (probably your pastor too) at Annual Conference when I was in St. Cloud last week. Sharon sure has alot of energy...and when she sings she sings with her whole body. She is alot of fun!!! The week before that Uncle Mel and I were in Vegas. We spent one week there - did some shows, lots of walking, very little gambling and spent time by the pool reading a book (that was the best part).
Sorry to hear you are seeming to be getting weaker and having trouble walking - we will sure to put you in our prayers. Just keep trying.....
We love you, Aunt DeEtta

Hey there Miss Lisa! How are ya? It's been awhile since I've visited your site - my apologies! I've been thinking of you and wanted to say "hi".
I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing some weak/tired moments and that it is effecting your progress. I'm sure that is frustrating. Hopefully the docs will be able to see what is going on and treat it so you are on your way again.
Of course I wasn't surprised to read that it hasn't slowed down your social life any! Wow - the Winklesky and Greene families never cease to amaze me with all you do and all the people you have in your lives!
We continue to have you in our thoughts and prayers and we have so much respect for your optimism and dedication.
I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the great summer weather (have you had any of that yet in Duluth?!). Please say "hi" to everyone for us! Hope to see you sometime soon!

It is Thursday, so I am home with the kids. Able just tee tee-d on the floor! I can't believe it, he is potty trained- sometimes I think if he smells where he may have tee teed in the past and he just goes! EEEEEEEEEEEK! Blaine & Bryson are having fun playing this morning, one is batman, the other spider man. I hope you have a great week. Talk to you on the weekend and see you soon! I miss you and love you-

Hi Lisa & ALL,
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU AND YOUR MOM!!!!!!
I haven't written anything in here for a long time.
So her goes, Brian was home with his Girlfriend for Easter, although Angela(his girlfriend) spent most opf her time in St. Cloud with her family, but that was all right, we had a nice long visit with Brian. He seems to be doing all right in Oklahoma, he and his Girlfriend are expecting a Baby Girl on July 29th.... How nice that will be, that will be three Grandaughters for us!! How sweet!!!
John and I will be going to Oklahoma in August to visit and greet our new Grandaughter!! We plan on spending some time in Iowa with Johns Sisters and their families. It should be a good trip.. We now have a more reliable car to drive down there, we purchased a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. Dark Green in color... I just LOVE IT!!!!
I read that you were not feeling too well, I hope that this all passes and you will be feeling like your old self again, not saying that your old, but you know what I mean??? Ha Ha Ha!!!
Just keep doing your therapy and when you are tired!! Rest!! A body can only do so much!!!
You are really such an inspiration to all of us, and we know that what ever obstacle comes your way, you will succeed, you have the power and drive to keep on going.
And we are all here to back you up 100 percent!!
We went down to Sturgeon Lake last week-end, it was so nice and warm there, not like it was in Duluth... My little Ebony picked up a few woodticks ( ick) I hate those things.. But our camper looked fine and I cleaned some and visited with some of the other campers, it was a very nice week-end. We will be going down there again on the 20th of this month, they will be having the Seasonal Campers Pot Luck, I missed it last year, I can not remember why I missed it. Oh well!! We will be going athis year..
Well Lisa Dear, I will sign off for now, I have to be to work in the Morning at 5:30 am!!!! So got to go to bed!!
Our Love and Prayers are with you and your Family every single day and night....
Hang in there Girl!!!!
Love From The Caruth's
Phyllis & John & Johnny and of course Ebony!!!!!

You can keep doing this, you know there will be setbacks but you can overcome them. Nothing that is good for us is ever fun or tastes good, right?... Sounds like your mom had a good time with Teresa and her family in Florida. My mom is doing well. Everyday gets a little better, but the surgery went well so now it is just the healing time.

Love ya and you stay strong, you can get through this

I JUST WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT MAY 10 IS WORLD LUPUS DAY, I ONLY FOUND THAT OUT BECAUSE I WENT TO THE www.lupus.org WEBSITE TRYING TO FIND OUT INFORMATION ON LUPUS AND ASTHMA. ANYONE CAN GO TO THE WEBSITE AND READ IT - THE TITLE IS "WORLD LUPUS DAY TO FOCUS ON MORE AWARENESS AND BETTER DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENTS." THE ARTICLE WAS PRETTY INTERESTING. I SPOKE TO LISA EARLY THIS AFTERNOON, SHE WAS RESTING AND HOPING TO GO HOME TOMORROW.

Miss Lisa -
Hello dear. I haven't been into your site for awhile and wanted to say "hi". Not very good timing I'm afraid. I just read Teresa's entry and want to pass on my thoughts and prayers to you and the entire Winklesky family during this difficult time.

On a brighter note I also read the article your mom posted from Bayshore. I think that is great that you've been highlighted. You are an inspiration to us all! And your story may give someone in a similar situation the extra boost they need to continue to work hard and also go home again.
Keep up the good work.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take Care.

I don't know if anyone has heard but my mother call me (Teresa) this morning to tell me our Grandpa Ward passed away this morning. It is very sad. Yet, as my mother said, he was ready to go. I believe he has been ready to go for years because his wife, our grandmother passed away in 1989. He was pretty active until the past couple of years when he had problems swallowing. He then was limited to his house. About January he thought he was dying, here it was a bowel obstruction. Since then, he had been in the hospital and then in a nursing home. He didn't want to eat and had been very depressed. Grandpa Ward was 89 years old. He had been retired from the Burlington Railroad for many years.
Grandpa Ward will always be remembered for his wild streak. For being the roughest, toughest, baby in the valley. I remember his T-shirt with a name like Winklesky I have to be good. He may have been the wild man, but he was a hard worker, and a sweet heart. He will be deeply missed.

Weeza, I hope your week is going okay. I know its even harder now that Grandpa has passed. Mother said they aren't sure when the funeral will be. Most likely Tues, or Wed. I am unsure who will be coming up with me. But of course I will be taking off work and come up. I will see you then my dear. Miss you..love you...

HI Lisa Marie...

Bored off your butt huh? I know we all complain about wanting to be able to just sit or lay around, but when you have no other options, it must drive ya loopy. Ever thought of doing puzzles? I wish I had time to do them. SOmething better then the TV all day anyhow. Or should I sugges online gambling. haha JUST KIDDING. Butchie will come home and the bank account will be empty and it will all be my fault. haha. I'm so happy that this year has only gotten better month by month. I remember how sad I was last year.... Thank God for you dear.
Jord's dad is still having a lot of difficulty talking. So they are not so sure how well he is comprehending everything being said. It is so sad and frusterating. It is his birthday today.. well Monday it was. It is going to be a tough year for him too. He just got approved for social security too. A whopping $199 a month form here on out for me. Which also made me cry. Sometimes I wonder why God tests some of us soo much. I know there are so many things to be thankful for, but geesh I am tired of the constant struggle to stay above water. UGH Enough about me and my issues.

You take care Lisa, and I will try to get here more often.

Love you

So your Mom & Dad are off in the Sin City!! HAHAHA!! Wish I were there, anywhere but here in this snowy snowy town!! It is pretty, but it is a real drag to shovel!! My Dog Ebony, loves the snow, she runs and dives in it and comes up full of snow!! I wish I had as much energy and enthusiasm about snow as she has!!! HAHAH!! No thanks!! I do not not like the cold and snow at all!!!! I can hardly wait until John & I can do that Snow Bird thing and go off to Arizona or Texas or even Florida for the Winter!! That would be great!!
I bet you can hardly wait for your Mom & Dad to get home huh???
Hope they are enjoying themselves!!!
John & I have a trip coming, we were married 40 years last September 4th!! We were going to take a cruise, but decided against it , too many people are missing off those Cruises, or they get really sick from the food.. I think I would like to go back to Mexico or Jamaica!! That was really nice!!!
Well Lisa, take care and keep up all of the things that you are doing!! You must be doing something right huh??
Our Love and Prayers are with you and your Family everyday!!
Take care and God Bless you all!!

Hi Lisa and Family,
It is really good to see your memos on your page. You are certainly a determined gal, and that is good.
We are so happy for you, you seem to progress more and more every day.. Keep it up!! Yu go girl!!!!!
So Sorry to hear about all the sad things that have been happening to your family. My heart & prayers go out to all of your family. Your Mom & Dad have sure had some trying times. But if you believe in miracles and God, he will see you through whatever comes your way!!
So happy to hear that your therapy is going so well, keep it up even if you think you can not do anymore.. You have alot of enthusiasum and alot of heart!! And parents and friends that are pulling 110 percent for you!!~!
I can not beleive that it is February 10th all ready!!
Brian is suppose to be coming home in April for a week or so!! he is going to be a Dad again, his girlfriend Angela is expecting in July. guess around the 29th or so. Brians Bday is July 26th. So it will be pretty close. They are going to get married, in Oklahoma. Guess John and I will have to drive down there for the big day.. But I still have my doubts about Brian!! He is not the marrying kind!!~!I think he likes being a Bachelor!!HAHAHA!!!!
His Son Brody, will be 13 in August, he is plannning on moving to Oklahome to live with his Dad!!Although Brody Loves his Mom very much, she is not a very good Mom!! She is not the cleanest person in the world and she never cooks meals for the kids, the only time Brody gets homecooked meals is when he comes to my house. That is so sad!!
Junior & Pam are doing fine. Junior started a Business of his own. Putting Audio in cars also installing remote starters and things. He is suppose to put one in my Jeep, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet.
Little Tyler is 6 all ready!! He is a big Nascar fan!!!
He is also a collector of Nascar Matchbox cars. He is quite the Character!!
Pam is working at The Benedictine Center at Scholastica in the Food Services Department. She hates it of course, but they have bills to pay so she has to work!!
I am at Wesley Residence still, I really like working there. The people are all so very sweet!! It is so cute to see all the Residents wake up and come in to the Dining Room at 6am. most of them wish they were still in bed!!
When Breakfast is all done they all head back to their rooms and go back to bed until coffee time, which is at 9:30 am!!!
Johnny is still working nights at Upper Lakes Food in Cloquet, he went to Rhinelander this week-end to spend some time with his Mom (Anne) it is her Birthday on Saturday, she will be 39!!!!
I can not believe that my Boy Junior will be 40 in April!! Guess we will have to have a Birthday Bash for him, an over the hill type of party!!!HAHAHA!!
Well Lisa, keep up all the good things that you are doing to improve you health and make you better each and every day!!God be with you and you Loving Family!!!
We will continue to pray for you and all of your wonderfull family!!!
Happy Early Valentines Day!!!!

Hey Queenie!!

I talked to Wendy last night and she told me about the memorial service for Wally on Saturday. I expect I will see you there?? I am gonna make some potato salad. I ran into Wanda at the grocery store today and asked her if she needed anything. Potato salad it is!!!!

Wendy also said that you were wondering what we paid for that limo on my birthday. I thought we had discussed that on the potty break at Timberlodge. The one we had was $270.00. But that one seated 12 people, so they say. I think 10 more comfortably.

We are still job hunting for Andy. Its tough this time of year to find a decent job. A couple of the ones he tried for, he didn't get. One was a route driver for Bernatellos Pizza. And he is still waiting to hear for a management position at Arby's. That one he won't hear from for a month. I hope it happens for him. He has good restaurant management skills working for Sbarros for 17 yrs. Say a prayer. I know he could use it.

I was thinking we should make a dinner date one night on Butchs bowling night. Get you out of the house. Make it a girls night. We could invite whomever you'd like. Have a night of good food and good chit chat. Let me know what you think.

Talk to you soon, Love, Mary

I am forever thankful for Drive throughs and delivery service. It is nice to be off until Wednesday evening, then the kids will be going to Aunt Lois' while I work. Well dear I will try and call you on your down day (Tuesday). Take it easy, talk to you soon,
Love you-

HI Lisa Marie...

Boy it's been busy around here. I try to get to the site and see what you've been up to, but I end up reading for quite a long time, so I dont get here nearly enough. Got pretty sad the other night to read about Hannah... if she has a caringbridge site, can I get it from you. Call or e-mail it to me please. jenninesavon@yahoo.com I really want to see a little more of what is going on with her. That is so sad... She is the same age as Raynah.. I cannot imagine. It tears me up to think about it. Damn.

JOrdan went to her dad's house last weekend for the first overnight since the stroke. It is so hard to see what he is going through. I know you know his pain.. the worst for him is that he can only say a few words, so communicating is very hard to do. Jordan said he tries to act out what he wants to say. I cried after I dropped Jord off... I just hurt so bad for both of you.. I know we have to deal with what God gives to us, but it hurts so bad to see the suffering. It is hard not to say all the "what if's" and imagine it could have been me. You are so strong Lisa and I know you hear it all the damn it is sooo true.
I guess I can stop talking your ear off, but I want you to know you are still on my mind, and I still check up on you. :) I love ya Lisa Marie...

Miss Lisa -
Hey there - how are ya? I apologize as I haven't been into the site for some time. It sounds like you are doing just great and enjoying being back to your routine at home with the family!
It sounds like you all had a happy and blessed holiday - glad to hear it!
We had a very nice first Christmas as a married couple and on New Year's Day headed to Disneyworld on our honeymoon for a week. Neither of us have been there before - it was great! Guy and I were big kids (not too much of a stretch for me I know!) for the week.
We were so happy to have you both at our wedding in November, as well as your parents. So glad you were able to be a part of our day!
Take care, keep up the great progress and we hope to see you sometime soon! I believe that my mom will be up next week for cards with the girls at your mom's house. Sounds fun!

Hi Lisa and all!
Just a short note tonight, it sounds like you all had a very Merry Christmas!! We hsd a very nice Christmas, we missed Brian, he couldn 't be here this Christmas, so I was very sad, also one of our Grandkids couldn't be here, Courtney, who lives in Rhinelander with her Mom & Stepdad, Josh was here, guess he took time off from School. Courtney couldn't take any more time off from School and she also works at MacDonalds in Rhinelander Wi, so she keeps pretty busy.
Junior and Pam and little Tylor were here Pam came late, she had to work. I had all my Family here, I am so greatfull that we can do this, my Dad who is 89 years old really likes to get together with family. And it so comforting to know that he can still get around pretty good. He still drives!! ( Scary isn't it??) He does an all right job of driving.
My Dad and I went to Midnight Mass at Holy Family on Christmas Eve. He was a little tired on Christmas Day, so was I !! I worked a Split shift at Wesley, 5:30am-10am and went back and worked 2:30pm-6:30pm, those shifts are hard on an old lady like me!!!! HAHAHAH!!
I also read the journal all the time, and we are all so happy that you are doing so well. Keep up whatever your doing girl!!!!Your doing fantastic!!! Butch sure sounds like a keeper huh?? He is really a loving Husband and Dad!! You must be very proud of him?
Well Lisa , I think I will close for now! This was suppose to be short haha!!!
Good-night for now and I will write again soon!!
God Bless you and your Loving Family, I hope your New Year will be everything you want it to be!! for you and your family!!
You and your Family will forever be in our Prayers..
Love to all of you and Happy New Year!!!

It is so important to keep working hard, I hear as long as your keep on improving and progressing they will keep on paying for therapy. That is soooo great, because I know you can do it and will do it until you do not need the therapy at all. I miss you, and cannot wait to see you around the new year. I will put some new photos on the website of you guys for some variety. Take care miss you Love you

Hi Lisa, Wow sounds like you are doing awesome. I am truly sorry for not getting down to see you but for the longest time I had a terrible cold then Mario's backwas out so one thing after another. Kinda back to normal if there is such a thing. Had Thanksgiving dinner with the boys and families the sunday before because on Thanksgiving day Mario and I went to our friend Jane's house for a delicious dinner and after the dishes were done Jane, my sister Marilyn and I took off for Chicago we went to visit Tina and her family. What a wonderful time we had. They have another beautiful home but it is tough to move and start all over with friends etc. They all will do well because they make friends easily. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Heard you are doing some cooking. Well, just wanted you to know you are always in my thoughts and prayers even if you don't see or hear from me. God bless. Love and prayers, Cheryl

HI Miss Lisa,
Glad to hear you are back to your oldself with your exercises. I know they are not fun, but most things that are good for us aren't. Just sitting here watching TV and had to do a check on how things are going for you. I am so glad that people are still keeping in touch with you here. It is nice. I know everyone is still keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. I bet Cassie was just gorgeous for the ball last night. Cody didn't go, His girlfriend went with an old friend so he just stayed home, he is just so easy going nothing bothers him. I think she called him about 50 times last night anyway so it must not have been to much fun for her date!! Kids now a days!! Went to Mom's last night for dinner she complains all the time that we don't get out there enough. you know my Mom always giving us a hard time about something or another. WEll you take care, Keep up the great work!!!

Hey Weeza, I will call you soon, I just wanted to say hello, I just read your update for the whole week. Mom just updated it last night. You sound busy lady, it must be great to be home. I worked Tues, Wed, and Thur night. We had Seths first conference Thursday too. I had to go to a conference on Friday right after my 8pm-8am shift, I only slept 3 hours yesterday, so I am lacking some sleep! Bryan has Army Guards this weekend too. He is there right now. The twins are going to daycare tonight, they offer a Parents Nght out for the parents once a month, where they can come play, have pizza, and even go to bed if they need, it is from 5-10. So if Seth isn't with his friends we will do something fun with him, probably Harry Potter and go out to eat. Last night Seth had his Friday night fun, and we took the twins to the mall, and they saw Santa for the first time and took their picture too. So they had their fun alone with us last night too. I will talk to you tomorrow morning dear have a great Saturday, We love and miss you very much!

He had cancer. He will be deeply missed. His wife is Barbara, daughters Sue Pearson, & Beth of course, and has 7 grandkids. I am sure some people may know him, he retired from the post office many years ago. Well I will call you this weekend. I received Cassie's Thank You note. I hope she is enjoying the magazine. I saw one recently and was caught up reading it. There was some interesting stuff in there!!! Well have a good and restful weekend! We love and miss you very much!!

Congratulations Lisa - Home Sweet Home!!! You have worked so very hard to get back home and we are so proud of you. But remember to keep on working to keep up your strength and get even stronger. I bet your kitties were happy to have you back home also. It will be great for all of you - Butch just gets to come home from work and the kids from school/work and no stopping at BayShore. We have been spending lots of time in the waiting room for NeuroScience ICU - where your mom and dad, Butch and family also spent many days and hours. Waiting is hard....Peyton is doing okay???? Has pneumonia and ended up with a trach and is on a respirator now and stuff, so sometimes it seems as if we are going backwards. BUT they keep saying he will get off the respirator and get better so he can receive PT/OT. Will be awhile yet though!!! Glad your mom and dad had fun - they deserved the vacation and sorry we won't be hearing on the CaringBridge daily, but that means life is getting back to normal for you. Take care - say hi to Butch, Cassie, Willie and your mom and dad. Love, Aunt DeEtta

Hi Lisa! I have been terrible about writing in here but need to today. Our three kids, Cherri, Chris and Mindy, threw us a surprise 25th Anniversary party on Sat. I have to say, we were totally surprised. My niece made a copy of our original wedding cake, the kids had our coursages made out of the same flowers as originally and the party was at Mom's house which is where the original wedding reception was; it was just so cool. Of course, who is one of the first people we see but Sandy and Gary!! It was just wonderful, can't believe the kids pulled it off and we didn't ever have a clue!! Anyway, I didn't see you for 1 1/2 weeks and I can't believe how much your getting up out of your chair has improved!! Your speech is also better so you must be doing SOME of those speech exercises! Today is the last day I'll see you at Bayshore; HOME TOMORROW!! You made it! It was a lot of work and you're not done yet but at least you'll be at home, back with your family, while you do most of it!! When you're settled in back at home, then Sandy and I will bring you lunch on your days you don't have PT. Eventually you can even make us something; lets see, what do we want??? Take care, keep up the good work and have a great homecoming! CONGRATULATIONS QUEEN LISA!! Love ya! Peg Wren

Dear Lisa,
You are probably way too busy and excited today to read this, but I am writing to you anyway.
Well, the day you have been working so hard for and waiting so long for is nearly here! I am, we all are, so very proud of you, Lisa! You are one of a kind! I admire you so very much, and I am proud to be your aunt!
I was so happy to read over the many entries in your Daily Journal, and your Guestbook Entries... I'm so impressed with all you have accomplished! Your mom and dad and Butch and Teresa have done a spectacular job in keeping all of us updated with your everyday progress! Your Guestbook entries have been filled each day with your caring friends and family! I know I have been a delinquent auntie in my writing, but that doesn't mean that you are not in my thoughts and prayers every single day!
Congradulations to you on this next step in your journey!
I love you a lot, Lisa! You are a gift from God! And, of course, your mom and dad have something to do with that, too.
I know that you will be getting adjusted to the transition to be home, so will let you decide when you are ready for visitors. In the meantime, I am only a phone call away!
Love,
Rob-Robin

Hey Weeza, I hope your weekend is a good one. One of rest and relaxation (you know you need it when you have been working so hard a week). Mom and Dad got down here around 9 ish last night. They enjoyed the twins and our puppy Able. Seth was at a friends house sleeping over, he will be bummed when he finds out he missed them. He'll enjoy his Halloween goodies though (you know grandma). They left this morning around 7 ish. I convinced them to stay for breakfast - Dad was all nervous about being there on time. They had ample time to get there. We are just relaxing this weekend. We went to Life Time fitness yesterday to work out, here there was a Halloween party going on in the gym for the kids. So we stayed for that too. There were lots of games, crafts, and candy prizes for the kids. We finished our first week of work and daycare. The kids enjoy it, but by the end of the week they wanted to stay at home-we call it school-and they were saying no school, stay home. So the weekend was a fun concept, its FRIDAY, no school tomorrow!!!! Isn't that how we all feel? It was a bummer they were sick the first week too, just fevers, so we sent them anyways. My work week went well. I have a superb supervisor. I have been training with her and have met the daytime staff and some of the night time staff. I have one more week of Mon-Fri days.Once I am on my normal shift, 8pm -8am, I will be with another girl who hasn't started yet. It will be the two girls wed, thur, fri night, and the two men (who already work there) Sun, Mon, Tues night, and I guess there is another man who will work every Saturday night.
It is a brand new facility, so it is kind of set up like a hotel, since the patients have to sleep overnight and possibly stay the whole next day for nap studies, they make it as comfortable as possible, TV snacks etc. I hear they are even getting sleep number beds. I am learning a lot. It isn't anything we learned in Respiratory, so far, that is, it will be more up my alley when I work with the breathing machines, the CPAP and BiPap. Well dear, I hope you have a wonderful day! Just five more days and you will be home. We miss and love you very much. Keep up all of the hard work. XXXXOOOOO

Hi Lisa - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You get to go home so very, very soon. I know it will be wonderful - BUT you will still have to work very hard to gain more strength. But you allready know that!!! I just called the NeuroScience ICU at St. Mary's to check on my dad and they took his breathing tube and his feeding tube out tonight, and he much more alert. Wish we had stayed longer, but we got worn out and my mom really needs some rest - at home. We will be back tomorrow again - maybe we will find a moment to come visit. I know your excited to be heading home and I know your mom is too, but she is kind of worried also (that's just being a mom). Things WILL WORK OUT!!! Our prayers are with you!! Love, Aunt DeEtta

Hi there dear Ms. Lisa!!! I haven't been in to sign the guest book for a long, long, time. I'm so sorry - don't know why I haven't been in here - how neglectful I am, bad, bad!!! Dara has been keeping me updated on your progress. WOW - you have really moved on since the last time I wrote. Going home Nov. 4 - what a wonderful day that will be for you and your family. Its been a long haul and many hours of hard work for you but it's paid off and you can be an "at home" family again. I hope all goes well for you at home - I'm sure it will. You are so committed to therapy and getting stronger, an inspiration to us all. Don't think I could have done what you have accomplished, in fact I know I couldn't. Have been thinking about you daily - blessings and prayers to you and your family. Love ya, Ms. Peggy

Hey my sister!!!! I need to give you a call. Maybe tomorrow. Great news for you!! YOU DID IT, YOU ARE GOING HOME SWEET HOME!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! I am sorry we haven't talked in awhile. I have been consumed with work and this new puppy. The perk is Bryan has been bringing the twins to daycare and Seth to school and also picking them up. Lucky me. However, I haven't been to their daycare since we had a tour of the place. So I haven't had a chance to talk to their teachers. They seem to be okay-however they have had fevers all week and had croup on the weekend. They were given some steroids to reduce the swelling in their large airways (which causes the stridor and barking in croup). They were much better after that...except they still have the fevers and now have more of a cold. I took them in again and they drew their blood. All is good, so it must be viral. Well dear..orientation was okay, kind of boring, now I am in the department and learning!!!!!!!!!! I will be working 7-3 for the next week and a half, and then I will go to nights November 8th. This for sure is a Red Letter Day for your and all your family and friends. I know it must be kind of scary to go home but during the day you won't be alone too long of a time between Butch comming home for lunch and the kids comming and going and at least you will be in your own home. You are such a strong willed person that I know you can do it. You just keep up the good work. Love ya much

Hi there Lisa!!
Thought I would jot a few lines this evening!! I was just reading the journal, and the progress you are making is just fantastic!! It does sould like to me that you will be home by Thanksgiving!! Good Luck and we will all pray for you!!
I am now working at the Wesley Residence in West Duluth! I serve the food to the residents there, who by the way!! are all so very sweet!! I only work about 4-5 hours a day. Not too many, but enough for this old person !! HA HA!!
The weather was really weird today! No Sun then alot of Sun!!
I went up to Target today and it felt alot cooler up there than here at home.
Went to Shelly Johnsons ( Perrault) Home and Garden Party yesterday, it was a Halloween Theme. It was alot of fun, Her little Boy is getting so big and he so darned cute!! He is four months old all ready!!
Brian calls every once in awhile, guess his job keeps him really busy!!
I had to go and pick up his Son Brody at Taco Johns, guess he got sick at the Morgan Park football game and he called me (his Grandma) for a ride home. I felt so bad for him, his Mother and older Sister wer not even home. I was a little mad about that, the poor kid was throwing up all over the place. Brody called her and she came right home, I waited with Brody until she came home.
Well Lisa we will pray and keep our fingers crossed that everything will work out for you and Butchie at your conference !! Good Luck!!!
As always we will continue to pray for you and your loving family!!!
Love From,
The Caruth Family!!

Hello Weeza- it sounds like you are doing so so much. Mom told me you were at home this past weekend helping Cassie organize her room and folding clothes. Way to go-woman. I bet you it was great being upstairs in your house too. I hope your having a great week. It sounds like you are working hard during the PT and OT. It will be great to have you home by Thanksgiving. Keep up the hard work, once you get home you won't get as much PT & OT and its real important to get as much as you can and get as sufficient as you can before you do go home. Pretty soon you won't even need that new wheel chair of yours it will be collecting dust when your using that walker of yours. I know we don't get to talk as much as we would like. But you know you are in my thoughts daily. We got our puppy, he is so cute. But it is another child to take care of. We just got the twins potty trained and now I am training an 8 week old puppy! He went to the vet today to get his ears cropped (boo hoo). I felt sad letting him go. Seth is off for MEA tomorrow and Friday. I took him to urgent care and he has strep, bummer. No playing with friends tomorrow. Well dear sorry we have to do all our talking email, but I know you are busy and its hard to talk on the phone for long periods. Hey did Cassie get her Seventeen magazine? I ordered it for her, I remember I always enjoyed it when I was younger. Take care, Tell Butchie, Willie, & Cassie hello for me. We miss you and love you-

Lisa,
I'm so glad your progressing and have a goal of being home by Thanksgiving. That would really be something for your family to be thankful for.
Tell Cassie that Arianna (my granddaughter) is in "Cheer America". It is so cute. Little girls from all around Duluth with cheerleading outfits and pom poms learning cheers from "real" cheerleaders. Some from Denfeld. She goes on Wednesday evenings at the womens Y.
Hope to see you in church some day soon.

I will try and stop in one of these days when I am down your way. I won't be till next month. but I will try.

Hi Lisa

It was great to see your entry in the journal. We are doing great here. WE have had some warm weather still. In the high 80's. did cool off a few days but back up again. It is still very green and really no change in the leaf color. Troy was able to make it this weekend. It has been three weeks since he has been home so it was nice having him back. He got a taste of what it is like to get a call for a showing of the house and get it ready and out the door with the kids in thirty minutes. Needless to say he didn't like it. Tomorrow we are having Jake baptised here. A couple is coming back for their third showing. So hopefully this will be it. The girls are realizing we will be moving rather quickly. So we are trying to stay positive and upbeat. Troy really enjoys his new assignment, but he really loved it here to. Ohh so bittersweet. I think of you all the time and pray you will be home soon. Take care Lisa and say hello to your family for me.

Hello Lisa! Sounds like you are doing well and getting stronger and stronger everyday! That's great! Not much to report here, just thought I'd write a quick note to say "hi" and let you know we're thinking of you! Our wedding is only a month away now so busy finishing up the last minute plans. We hope you are able to join us for awhile at the wedding, reception or both. Can you believe it was 7 years ago already since you were doing our hair for Theresa and Larry's wedding?! Crazy how time flies isn't it?! Please say hello to the family for us. Talk to you soon! Take care!

Hey Sweetie, It was so great seeing you this weekend. You are quite the busy gal. I thought wow, I saw you Fri, Sat, & Sun. But we never got to talk one on one. The twins were quite active whether it was at Bayshore or Perkins, they were busy!!!! Plus you are Miss Popular. Everywhere we went you were bumping into people you know, the mall, perkins, wow weee. I just wanted to say it was great seeing you. Also being able to see Aunt Sissy and cousin Hailey. I put some photos on the website from this weekend. You know you have to be in each photo too. The one of you, Butch, and Cassie didn't turn out so great-you and Butch's eyes were half open, so that is why I didn't put that one in. I hope you enjoy the photos-you look so cute, perky, and happy. I miss and love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I don't know why I am writing-I will be heading up this afternoon to Duluth. I may see you before you even read this! I cannot wait! To see you and Auntie Sissy and little cousin Hailey. I also made an appointment at Sandys Saturday, and I have Angela. Oh, Seth is a little bummed about us going without him, but he has a big day tomorrow. The were 7-0-1 and they played teams on their B squad, so they get to play the team on the A squad that was 8-0 for their final game at 3:30 Saturday at the Dome in Woodbury. Afterwards, the team is going out for pizza for a big celebration and to receive their participation medals and team photos. See we are the ones really missing out. But we haven't seen Sissy in a few years so I thought it was more important, plus he will have his Daddy there (all to himself). Well dear I will see you very soon. Love You

Hi Lisa girl,
Wow !!! You are one amazing woman!!! Cudo's to you!! Sounds like you are working extra hard!! You will be home in no time!!
Sounds like they are almost all done with your ramp(by the way it looks great)!!
Brian called from Oklahoma, he will be home for Christmas and he and Angela will be here for two weeks, It will be so good to have him home for awhile. He has been in OK since July!! Guess he really likes it there!!
Not much going on in the Caruth Household, Johnny is still working at Upper lakes Foods in Cloquet, it is quite a way for him to drive, with the gas prices the way they are!!
I just wish this rain would stop, but then it is much better than snow huh???
Our basement got really wet again, this time from all the rain, the last time my washer over flowed!! What a mess !! All the carpeting and rugs I had in the basement were drenched, had to throw most of them away, they smelled really bad!!!
We have our camper all closed up for the winter and all ready for the next camping season in Sturgeon Lake! We moved to a larger campsite. I like it alot better than the little one we were in!!
Well Lisa it is very late and time for me to go to bed!!
With Gods will and so many of us praying for you, you will be home in no time.
Stay Strong and keep the faith!!
You and your beloved Family are forever in our prayers.
The Caruth Family

HI Lisa just checking in to see how everything is going. Exciting to hear about the ramp going up. I bet it is starting to turn beautiful with the autumn colors. You heard about Dinos little one, she is just beautiful. Troy found us a house yesterday in Chicago. Hope I love it. Kinda scary to think he got to pick out the house we will call home. I trust him so it will all work out. You are continually in my thoughts and prayers. Keep working hard. You are doing fabulous. Take care
