Welcome to Onika's Web Page. Onika was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on 6/24/04. Neuroblastoma is a very aggressive solid turmor cancer. She had a turmor that was 5"x4"x3" and was wrapping around major arteries in her abdoman. It also spread to her lungs and bone marrow. She is N-MYC non-amplified and has done 8 round of low dose chemotherepy. On January 10th, 2005 Onika endured a 13 hour surgery that we are pretty sure took the remaining of the tumor leaving her NED!!!
Onika Born: 01/17/04 Weight: 7lbs 12oz Length: 19.75 Journal Saturday, April 1, 2006 8:37 PM CST Well, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Onika had her CT scan around the begining of March with also a 24 hour urine test. Well the Urine test came back on the high side but still in normal range so they aren't worried about that but the CT scan was a little different. No so much that their was any change from the last one, but this time they listed a size of "somthing" in the orignal turmor location. Well, The doc's sent us off to see the surgeon that did onika's sugery. The surgen said that they only was to find out if the spot was tumor or dead tissure or scar tissue (because the MIBG scan came back negitive) they would have to do another surgery. So now we are just waiting for the surgen to talk this over with his colleages. But other than that she is growing fast and getting set in her own ways Links: |
