Hello -

Well the boys started school, Cam is lovin being at the same school as Keegan and they both love their teachers. Well as its been for the past three years, it wouldn't be Strnad fashion to start the school year without a visit to the hospital. Keegan broke his ankle at school on Friday. The secretary from school called me about 1pm and said Keegan had hurt his foot and she gave him ice and asked if he wanted her to call me, he said...."I'm tough and I don't need my mom" and went back to class. She made the call sound like she was telling me the funny thing that he said. He got off the bus and couldn't walk, his ankle was H-U-G-E. He started to cry as soon as he saw me and said "will you STILL take me to the game?" He didn't want to mis the Chippewa / Dakota game to see Holland (his 1st grade teachers son) play. I promised him after an xray, if he could still walk I'd do everything in my power to get him there. Well his doctors couldn't get him in so we went to the urgent care. They said it was either broke, fractured, pulled ligament or his achiles (sp??) tendon but it was so swollen that they couldn't tell on the xray. They put a half cast on, told him not to put any weight on it & sent us home. OK, I have all three kids, stroller in tow, trying to have Keegan hop on one foot and me hold under his armpit and Camden on the other side of him and I'm trying to push the stroller. I look at the doc and said how the hell am I supposed to get out of here, he says let me get you a wheel chair. I push Keegan, Cam has Niko. I make Camden stand with Keegan while I get the car & NIko in, I drop Keegans shoe in the parking lot, the boys are laughing so hard because I'm rushing like a mad women. I pull up and try to help Keegan into the car...not east. I had to lift him, thought I broke my back, get him home and Randy says why didn't you get crutches????? Not sure....he ran back up there and got some for him and life was much easier. Needless to say, we didn't make it to the game and he was really sad and cryed all night. I promised him I'd get him to the next one.

We went to the orthopedic doc on Monday and he fractured his growth plate and has a full cast. Hopefully for only 3-4 weeks. The only thing that stinks is he already needs a new one. We go tomorrow for the new one. The girl who did it did a terrible job and he had a hole in the heel area and its cracked by his toe. After his ortho appointment we went to Royal Oak to his tummy doc, they upped his medicine since he still has pain and we go back in two months, then we went to his cancer doc. Counts and everything there were great....YEAH! After that I dropped him off a catecism. It was a very long day for all of us. All three boys have a cold and are still very tired from starting school and adjusting to the new schedule.

Keegan was supposed to start soccer on Saturday but he obviously wasn't able to. Hopefully in about 4-5 weeks the doc said. Cam had a soccer tournament on Sunday in the pouring rain, it wasn't very fun but Cam had a blast. He laughed the entire time he was on the field and scored the first goal. It was fun to watch. Niko is growing like a weed, he is still really stuffy but getting better everyday.

We were sad to find out that one of Keegan nurses from the clinic will be leaving on Friday. She is going to Troy Beaumont to work on the floor. It just won't be the same without her.

Everything else is great. Oh... that fundraiser that Randy & Mark did at the Tin Fish for the Childrens Leukemia Foundation raised over $1800 in just four hours. Isn't that awesome!!!!!

Well thanks for checking in.

Love,
Dana
