Emily Augustyniak - APL SURVIVOR
Welcome to Emily's Web Page. It has been provided to keep our family and friends updated about Emily. Please Pray for a complete healing!
Emily is our daughter and is enjoying life to it's fullest. Emily was hospitalized on November 19th, 2003, she was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) which is a distint subtype of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). This is one of the rarest types in children, only 15 case are reported a year in the USA. This was the beginning of many, many prayers that were answered from God. The one thing we learned from all this was to put God in full control of everything. That means everything. Emily’s life belongs to God, we are just her guardians on this earth. Those first few days in the hospital were so hard because we were trying to take control of the situation. It wasn’t until a few days later we had total PEACE with Emily’s disease because we let God do what ever He wanted with her. Our prayers were and still are for total healing.
We are so thankful that Emily is in complete remission. She has gone through more than most adults in their life time. Unfortunately most children who have this disease spend many days in the hospital, undergone many treatments and have to take hundreds of blood tests. She rather go to school and study for other types of tests. It is amazing how quickly our daughter was forced to grow up. We still wonder what she thinks about what she has gone through.
God has Blessed Emily with being a survivor. Most of us will never get a second chance in life, however she has. We believe Emily has a huge testimony to tell to others on how God hears prayers and is a loving God.
We take one day at a time because we know that there still is no cure for this disease. The only cure we can count on is Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray for Emily that God keeps her in Remission.
Mark 11:22-25 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he said will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have receive it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Hebrews 11:1"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".
