Dear Melissa,
You are in the best Hospital ever. My prayers are with you and your family, but especially with your son.
I live in Baltimore County, Maryland and I have had family in Hopkins and who work for Hopkins.
My daughter was born with Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and when she had her first surgery at age 1, we were told she may not live to see 21. She's 40 now and thanks to Dr. Olivi at Hopkins, she will be here for a long time.

Hi...my name is Heather...I saw this through the Zach Sowers website....when I first pulled up the website I was not sure what it was really about...now after reading more,my heart is sad...I have two young boys(6 and 2)...I can not imagine going through anything like this....my oldest had heart problems at birth and through the first year of his life...I probably felt a 1/4 of what you're feeling,which is more than any mother wants to ever feel....thankfully he has outgrown his problem,I wish your son the best of luck getting through his....the picture of you and your beautiful son brings tears to my eyes but also puts a smile on my face at the love you have for him....his smile is so precious and I just want to give him kisses...I'll be praying for "your little man"...keep your head up,and I wish for the best for you and your family...

Good Morning Malachi and Missy from Stephenville, Tx. I just learned of you 2 and all that you have been through. You are both so very AWSOME!!!! I feel so inadequate in handling my daily trials compared to you. Please know that in all your suffering you are being an inspiration to many others around the world. You both are being held up for divine healing by so many. Please feel the love of Jesus around you, and also the love of people everywhere. Feel His loving arms around you and precious Malachi.
I wanted to share with Malachi what my family does for fun here in Stephenville, and when he gets better, I want you both to come see us, and we will have some FUN! We have 6 horses, 4 dogs, a cat and lots of misc. varmits in and out around here. My only grandson, (he's 19 now, but still my baby), ropes steers with his PaPa and has won lots of money. How fun is that? PaPa is 60 yrs old, and I tell him he is too old to ride horses. He falls off a lot. Pray for him Malachi, cause he is too old to be falling off horses. We have grown up grandaughters, and then we have a little one that is almost 2. You 2 could have lots of fun down here. So be strong little man, and Mom. We have just the perfect horse for you to ride when you get better. He is white, good guys ride white horses you know. He is about 23 yrs. old, and in his hay day he was a world champion roping horse. He's just hanging around, waiting on you to get better and get down here to ride!
They call Stephenville the Cowboy Capital of the World, and we really do have our share of cowboys, so I know you will have a grand time.
I look forward to hearing that God has healed you. I know that he will. And your horse, Old Blue, will be looking forward to a new friend coming to see him.
We go to a church that's called a Cowboy Church. Cool huh? The men come in with their boots and jeans and cowboy hats on. We've had rodeos, and ropings and trail rides, and cook outs. See, you just need to hurry and get well. You tell those Dr.s to get on the ball, listen to Jesus more, and He will get you up and going.

You and the baby is in my prayers. I have been there with a son in 1966, he died in 1967 (7mo) of heart arrest, He was born with Hirsprung diease. This is where the nerve fibers were missing in part of small intestines, and all the large intestines.The Lord blessed me with 2 other sons that were fine, however their Father had 2 other children with this, one died and one is now about 26 yrs old. I have 4 grandchildren and they are safe without this disease, that was not suppose to be inherited from my x-husband.

I was so happy to hear from you again Missy, but sorry to hear of Malachi's latest trip to the hospital. I am however very glad they found the source of the problem and were able to fix it and it won't cause a set back on the trach removal. I do pray the test shows improvement the first of the week in heart function. Malachi has been through so much in so little time, and I am convinced that child has a bigger purpose in life, this is why God continues to bless and heal things as they arise. Oh Melissa I am so happy for you and your family. I hope Malachi continues to improve. YOu are always in our Prayers. Martin, is doing a little better. He still isn't eating very well though and is going to the Dr. weekly to be weighed. He has been up and down. This week he gained 3 ounces but last visit he lost 15ounces. Well he is scheduled for surgery in October and then they will get him ready for his next big surgery. Keep us in your prayers. And keep sending me e-mails. It is so nice to hear how Malachi is doing. I know we were so blessed to meet you. Hopefully we can someday meet Malachi.

In the journal that I read today, there was a comment about 1 in a billion to have the reaction Mala had to his formulae. Leave it to this little trooper to stand out above all the rest! I'm so thankful the medical staff has figured out the lactose problem ! It sounds like Malachai has been in wonderful, miracle-forming hands since even before his birth.
