CREATE A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

PASS IT AROUND!!!!

One of the most recent truly hit home as I had started getting close to his mom although they are on the opposite coast. All I can do is offer my love and support to those who have lost a child to this awful beast. Glad your Alison is doing so well! With UH, I would prob. demand scans every 6 mos. for 2 more years.

my name is Sheryl and our granddaughter Olivia was dx with 4/5 unfavorable histology. I used to stop in and saw you hadn't been journaling and so I quit checking and for some reason I check this morning and saw your journal. I am so glad to hear that all is well. You have given us inpiration that unfavorable histology can go well. We are scared heading toward the end of treatment. I can understand your feelings......I have read some really sad stories that makes you not want to read anymore and read the parent's pain. So you do make sense. I just read your story. I know what you are going through. My daughter Christie was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor on her 3rd Birthday 2001, stage III, favourable. She has been complaining about stomach ache for over 2 years and all the tests come back as normal?? Interesting to hear more kids are having the same problem. Please e-mail me back and we can maybe chat and give moral support to each other. I would also be interested to hear from anybody else who's child had Wilm's and reoccuring stomach aches.

All my best to you Alison, I know that you are a very strong girl to fight this disease.

Hello Alison and Family,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you three know that you are in our prayers. My Grandson Andrew, thirteen months old has Wilms Cancer and just had his right kidney removed on February 6,2004 at Childrens Hospital in the Twin Cities. He will going through 6 months of chemo-therapy. This is my daughters first child and our first time dealing with anyone with cancer. It is a very scary time but it is wonderful to read all the stories of the little ones that are cured. Your daughter is in my prayers and thoughts.
God Bless You Three!

Hi Chrissy,
I just came to check on Alison and saw your entry about the "someting" on the scan. another Wilms friend Lexi (http://www.caringbridge.org/il/alexis/) had this situation just before Christmas and has just got the all-clear with her second scan. I will be praying for the same with Alison.

Hello Alison and Family,

Just ran across your website and stopped in to say Hello. My 6 yo Katey finished treatment for Wilms and recently had clear x-rays and ultrasound. I'm glad that the shadow they saw on Alison's scan was just fluid from a cold. We'll be praying for the follow up scans to be totally clear and for her kidney functions to stay in range. Stay strong and healthy, LotsaHugs to you all~

It has been a long time. I tried your e-mail first. Alsion looks fantastic.

We continue to think of you all. Life is sure different that first year after chemo.

Hope all is well with your new baby. Does Alison have fun with him?

Natalie goes in for scans in December. Her health has been nearly perfect!! She is in third grade. She is doing so much better in school this year. Last year was tough, having missed so much of first grade. She played catch up all through second grade.

Chrissy, Mike, and Alison,
I love the photo of Alison in that wonderful pink hat. She's such a doll with a wonderful smile. I was away on vacation last week (finally) and it was nice to log onto the website to get an update (rather than bugging you with phone calls.) I miss talking with you, Chrissy. I have the post-DRG syndrome because I really enjoy working closely as a team during update time. I'll continue to think good thoughts and hope that the course of treatment goes so very well that the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel is in sight. Give Alison a hug for me. And Mike, give Chrissy a hug for me as well.
