Robyn's Gonna Kick This!

Our world was turned upside down on Thursday November 11, 2004 when we were told that a follow-up MRI to evaluate a 'buldging disc' in Robyn's back showed a tumor in her pelvis. They have diagnosed the tumor as sarcoma. We were first sent to New York City to see an Oncology Neurosurgeon who is among "The Best of the Best Physicians in America". After his evaluation and an open biopsy the sarcoma was identified as Ewings. We saw an Oncologist in N.Y. who wanted to initiate chemotherapy immediately. We needed to be closer to home, family, and friends. A referral was made to a Sarcoma Oncologist at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. This web page is a journal of Robyn's 'Biggest Competition'. It is our way of keeping you informed of her progress. We are heartfully grateful to our family and friends for their prayers and kindnesses. We Love You All!

This morning at 6:21 a.m. Robyn lost her battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma. This past week we watched her carry a very heavy cross with grace and courage. The disease had ravished her tired body which was now small and weak. The damage to her lungs made each breath a struggle and yet she never lost her fighting Tiger spirit or will to live.

As an infant, I gave Robyn her first bath, this morning I gave her, her last. I witnessed her take her first breath of life more than 27 years ago and today I was with her as she took her last; I thank God for each day between.
