ASHLEY'S BOOK
MARCH 15, 2005
I HAVE OSTEOSARCOMA. AND IT'S A BAD THING. IT HURTS REAL BAD AND IT IS A TUMOR. I HAVE A KNOT IN MY LEG ON THE BACK THAT WE JUST NOTICED. I WANT TO GET ALL BETTER REAL FAST. I WANT THIS CANCER TO GO AWAY FOR GOD AND NEVER COME BACK. I LOVE ST. JUDE. A BUNCH OF PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ME...DOCTORS AND NURSES.
EVERY NIGHT WE PRAY TO MAKE ME BETTER. JESUS IS HELPING US TO BE SAFE AND GET TAKEN CARE OF . AND I LOVE THE KIND OF DAYS WHEN I'M DOING GOOD. AND I WOULD LOVE IT MOST OF ALL IF I WAS ALREADY AT HOME FOR GOOD.
AND I WANT MY HAIR BACK AGAIN REAL QUICK SO I'LL LOOK LIKE A GIRL AGAIN AND NOBODY WOULD CALL ME A BOY.
I WANT TO GO HOME FOR A REALLY LONG TIME, BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE I HAVE TO FINISH MY SURGERIES. BUT I CAN REAL SOON SO I CAN BE HAPPIER AND IT CAN BE MORE FUNNER. I LOVE MY SURGEONS AND DOCTORS AND NURSES A BUNCH. BUT I FEEL REAL SAD THAT I HAVE CANCER. I WOULD WANT TO GO HOME, BUT I HAVE TO STAY HERE TO GET ALL BETTER.
THE END

ASHLEY HAS A FRIEND FROM KANSAS NAMED KATIE WHO IS AN OSTEO PATIENT. SHE HAD LIMB SPARING SURGERY ON MARCH 7TH AND IS DOING GREAT. PLEASE VISIT KATIE AND HER FAMILY'S WEBSITE ON THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE,LETTING THEM KNOW YOU ARE PRAYING FOR HER COMPLETE HEALING OF CANCER.

WOW, how our life has changed since the last update. I have been unable to access this website for months. First and foremost, our lives are touched daily by memories of our precious princess. She is a part of our every word and action. This past year has been one of lots of laughter and tears for our family. First and foremost, our little angel made sure that she handpicked our newest addition to our ever-changing family.
Doug and I are the proud parents and Austin is the most awesome big brother of 5 month old Spencer Jude Taylor. As some of you know, we went through the classes to become foster parents summer 2008. We had our first placements - 2 brothers ages 3 and 4- last Feb through June. They went home in JUne and we had a 2 year old from June til the week before Christmas. On July 28, we had a 2 month placed with us and she is still with us until the second week in January. On July 31, our adopted son Spencer was born and he came home from the hospital with us on Aug. 2. We got to know his birth mom through the foster care system. I thank God every day that Spencer's birht mom made the selfless act to give Spencer a safe, loving home with us.
I think Ash Dash sat by God's right hand and orchestrated this masterpiece of our family with him. When I look at Spencer I am overwhelmed with emotion because our girl always wanted us to adopt. I am sure she looks down from above and just laughs out loud at all the new adventures with two babies. Austin and Doug and I have had lots of spit up and poop on us with a 2 year old, and two babies only 2 months apart. Boy oh boy, all of my prayers for a baby certainly paid off and I got double the blessings with our foster daughter and our adopted son.
I know if Ashley were here, she would be spoiling these babies just as much as Doug and I do. I have a feeling she has handpicked all of our foster children so far and will continue to keep them coming.

God is good...all the time
Val, Doug, Austin, Baby girl, Spencer Jude, and Angel Ash
