Welcome to Emilie's Web Page. It has been provided to keep our family and friends updated about what's happening with our precious Emilie.

Journal

Hello, everyone! For those of you who I have not talked to personally, I apologize for not posting MRI results sooner on the page here. The neurofibroma next to Emilie's spine has only grown by a very, very small amount since her last test---which is great news!! The only down side to this is that this report does keep her out of the study for now. But we are very glad that it is not growing rapidly---and trust that God is in control regarding her treatment and that the medicine she should have will become available in His time.

Today Emilie, Bethanie, my mom and I are actually back at St. Jude for her checkup here. Emilie is in MRI right now (this is an MRI of the brain to check on the optic glioma) and should be out around lunch time. We should have results this afternoon after we meet with Dr. Morris. I can tell Emilie is growing up because last night she told Nana that "I'd better eat alot tonight because I can't have ANYTHING tomorrow morning!" --- and I had not even mentioned that or said anything about the MRI to her. She is a trooper! They had to stick her twice for her IV, but the numbing cream helped alot with the "owie" factor and she was very brave, took the bandage and numbing cream off by herself, and watched the whole thing with only a few tears. She was very excited that Wall-E was playing in the sedation room and told me that she was sorry for me because I couldn't have Oreos and Sprite later like she is going to have in recovery. She's such a character.

Thank you for continuing to check on Emilie and for all the prayers on her behalf. We are also SO thankful for special friends like Bro. Bill Ichter and his thinking of Emilie concerning the profits of his autobiography and for our church staff and church family who originated and supported the benefit dinner for Emilie last month; also, for the support from Mt. Olive Christian School: the cards, prayers, and baked goods! God has richly blessed us with people who continue to uplift us through this challenge and we are so very, very grateful. May He bless all of you in return!

Love,

Alicia
