Sunday, June 8, 2008 8:51 PM CDT WHEW! What a week it has been! First and foremost, Laurel had clean scans last week and we are just thrilled and BLESSED once again. God continues to touch our lives in such a vivid manner and we just know He is the ultimate healer and we look at "it" everyday. To bring you up to speed over the last several months, Terri, Laurel and Logan's aunt and her Paducah crew have been working on a western Ky fundraiser and it went off last Friday night without a hitch. What a wonderful event! Over $15,000 was raised to be donated to pediatric cancer research-WAY TO GO DORTCH/TILLEY FAMILY and all of our Paducah friends! Our goal is to continue to raise funds and awareness to fight this awful disease. There has also been a website set up for everyone to check out any events we have coming up as well as a way to make donations and purchase the new "Laurel Foundation" hats with the proceeds to benefit the foundation. The website is www.thelaurelfoundation.com
As for life in general, things are going well. Laurel just finished up volleyball and continues to swim and play tennis. Logan just finished his first year of middle school and his first golf team season. He continues to play golf this summer on the Pepsi Tour which he is enjoying-we know this won't take the place of football but it is giving him something else to focus on. We still pray everyday for his complete healing because he wants to play football so badly and I don't know what we are going to do when team practices start up in July-it is going to be so hard on all of us! Please keep Logan in your prayers as well.
The summer brings some travel, we are going to New York-the kids are in our cousins wedding on Lake George and we are spending some time in the city as well. We want to thank all of you for continuing to check on us. Your prayers never go unappreciated. We thank all of you for your dedication and friendship. We are prayerfully getting ready to celebrate 3 years cancer free! What a milestone but not one to take for granted. With that I am signing off-God bless all of you!
Love, Cheryl
