Joshua Michael Freerksen

Both of our Miracles!

Hello! Welcome to my website! My name is Joshua and I am 10 years old. I found out that I have Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on March 21, 2003. Since then, I have been in the hospital A LOT! I have finished 7 rounds of chemotherapy. (yuk) I then had surgery in New York City where a really cool surgeon named Dr. L. took my cancer out! Then I stayed 4 weeks in the hospital while I was having a Stem Cell Transplant. I have also completed 28 rounds of radiation treatments, lots of accutane and 7 rounds of 3F8 antibody treatments in NYC! I am officially done with treatment as of 10-19-04! I don't like cancer, but I do like all the really special people I have met in the hospitals and around the world. Many of you still pray for me every day and my daddy and mommy say that you all are special gifts from God! My web page is for all you to find out how I am doing.

Come on back and see me any time. You watch and see! I'm going to beat this monster called Neuroblastoma!

Smiles and Hugs
Joshua

Hello Wonderful Friends!

It's been a long time since I've written, but tonight I am compelled by my memories to write a note of thanksgiving. 6 years ago today, we found out that Joshua had cancer. We entered the hospital, and came out 2 weeks later forever changed.

Now, 6 years later, Joshua is still here with us and we are incredibly blessed. The kids are on spring break and we are enjoying a beautiful weekend together. Today we saw a movie in the theaters together which very seldom happens. Race to Witch Mountain was in Joshua's words "the best movie ever"!

Joshua is enjoying life as a normal 10 year old. He loves school and is getting all A's. He loves Karate and is gaining so much from that experience. He continues to love Mario and Sonic and any video game related to those characters. He continues his facination with art and weather. And most importantly has one of the most amazing hearts that I've ever seen.

I am privileged to be his mom and I will be forever grateful for this journey!

Thanks for taking the time to check in on us...even 6 years later!

Janene
