Hello Millers -

I remember taking care of Hannah throughout most of her journey. She was always a strong girl and it warms my heart to hear how she continues to grow. I cannot believe that she is already 20 and in college. She is definitely HOPE and a wonderful blessing to your family. Thank you for continuing updates on Hannah.

Congratulations to Hannah who is living her dream and continues to inspire people every day. Thanks to God who gave us our children back so they could realize their futures.

Hello Hannah,

I met your awesome mom today and she welcomed me and my daughter Kori to visit your site. My daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia on January 6, 2011. We are just beginning our journey and your story has truly helped gear us up for the fight.

We are thrilled to see that you are doing well and look forward to meeting you soon! Please give our mom a BIG hug from us!

hi..
i have been reading about your daughter for a few years now..
someone who is your friend on the disney website www.intercot.com that i belong to ..asked for prayers for your daughter awhile back..and gave us this website to find out more about your daughter.
i have since kept the website saved and i check back to see how your daughter is doing all the time!
i am sad there are sooo few post now..but soooo very happy you dont post much since theres nothing really to report than every day life kinda things!
i just recently took the last 2 days and read the whole journal in order..and it has opened my eyes thats for sure..especially since i just had my first child/daughter 6 months ago..
but i am so very happy for hannah and your whole family that she is doing so unbelievably well! =)

The Miller Family has been on my mind a lot lately. It's been nearly four years since we first met. Even though the circumstances by which we met were not the most pleasant, I can't imagine life today without the Miller Family. The last four years have been a roller coaster ride. I'm glad you were there with us at every turn.

Hey Deejo! I love keeping up on Hannah and find out how well she is doing! I was absolutely heartbroken to hear about Sam Weeks. He was one of my favorite patients that I could never forget. It seems like a million years ago that I took care of these kiddos that left such on imprint on my heart. If you know of a way that I could let the Weeks family know that Sam touched my heart and soul and that he was one of my favorite patients ever, that would be great! Hannah and family - Just found your site from Michael's (mycool in NC). My daughter Kristen and Michael were both treated at UNC. I'm so happy to read your journal history and see how well you are doing. Kristen and Hannah seem to have much in common! Kristen was diagnosed with ALL in June '06 when she was 14 and had a transplant in Nov '06. She is a volleyball player, has all kinds of sinus issues (maybe not such a good thing to have in common!!), volunteers at the local cancer center, and is involved in public speaking - this Saturday she is speaking at a conference called "God, Women, and Cancer". We actually moved to NC from Lee's Summit, MO (my husband is from KS) so we even have that little tie! I pray that all continues to go well with Hannah's health. I guess you all (like us) are getting ready for an annual "post transplant" visit. We will pray for great results, good IgG levels and all that neat stuff most people don't have a clue about!! Best wishes and prayers from NC!

Hello Hannah,
I am sure you don't know me but, your mom posted a message on my site. My son Brendan 17 yrs old has the same cancer you did. Right at this time with his relasp he is being treated with Ifosfamide, Mesna, Etoposide , Rituximab. This seems to be keeping the cancer at bay with only 4% cells in marrow. When it was found only 4 weeks ago it was 85% big drop thank god it's working. Yes I must admit I am scared to go into transplant but, I also know it has to be done. They are expecting to be having us in there some time in early Oct 08.

We have cut downn on our updates as well since Kevin is doing so well. I know it may not always seem that way, but His ways are not are ways, and we just have to trust in Him.

Checking in to see if anything new is going on. Blade is gone to the Taste of Home Holiday Cooking School. Aunt Jill took him (his birthday gift from her family). Hope things are good as you prepare for the holiday season. We will be in KC Wed., Nov. 21 for hemoc checkup then off to radiology for his port removal. I know you understand how scary that is to me. Saw Amanda the other day at the pharmacy. Take care. Hope to see you soon.

It's been crazy getting settled and adjusted here, but wanted you to know that you continue to remain in our thoughts and prayers. Wanted to say HI and see how things are going for all of you. It is so crazy here that I never know if I am coming or going. Does Sam have a site? The part of your entry about having cancer versus having cancer again is so true. I pray that some day no parent or child will have to hear either again. Think of you daily, miss you terribly (especially the kisses Blade says).

Hi, Hannah and Dee Jo! It was great to see both of you last weekend in Dallas! That weekend really got me pumped to get going on next years Relay! I have already signed 3 new teams since we got back! :o) I think one of the new teams was out of pity and maybe to get me off of their backs! lol I have warned my entire family and friends to watch out because I am in "recruit" mode and will bug them all until they cave! I hope your ENT visit gave you a fix for your sinus troubles. And I also hope you feel better soon. You know Hannah, you are amazing at "going with the flow", because I couldn't even tell you didn't feel well on Saturday. What a trooper to keep going the way you do! Take care, rest up this weekend and have a great start to your next week.

I checked on caring bridge right away and was so thankful to see such a wonderful update. We are blessed with all that is going well in your lives. It gives us all extra strength and belief in the impossible becoming possible. Have a wonderful time in Dallas on your mission of caring. Love, Judy

Lily woke up this morning with Hannah on her mind. When I asked her at breakfast if she knew what rhymed with banana she responded: "when Hannah coming over"? I could certainly see how the wheels were turning there, but I was surpised because I expected her to say Nana. She said, "Hannah come baby-sit me".
We'll have to schedule a visit or sitting session soon, we'd love to see both of you! Glad things are still smooth sailing at the Miller's.

Hi Hannah and family! I know you do not know me, but I am a really good friend of Kara. I know how special you were to her, I've heard all about you and I know you made Kara's day a little brighter every time she saw you. I just wanted to say thank you for getting to know her and helping encourage her in her fight. I know you made a big difference. It's very very hard right now, but I know she's completely healed and is in a much better place then we are. Again thank you for all you did for her when I couldn't be there nearly as much as I wanted to be in KC. I'm praying for you in your continued fight that God is always with you. Feel free to email me anytime.

What wonderful news continues to come from your way. We feel so blessed. The Blackburns, our friends whom you met with us, were here for dinner this evening, and we were talking about your family. They reiterated that one of the most special moments in their lives was meeting your family with Hannah!! I LOVE the update on the pictures and have been staring and staring at them tonight. Jacob surely looks like Ed, doesn't he! I love the different color shirts for each family in the large family photo. Whose clever idea was that! Dee Jo, you look so young and darling! Hannah looks marvelous and so lovely. How wonderful to read your site and to hear all about your marvelous sounding triip to Upper Michigan and all of your summer activities. A normal family summer before Jacob goes off to college. I can't believe you have one ready for college DeeJo! Jack and I purchased a used but absolutely like new camper tonight from our friends the Blackburns as they just purchased an RV. We hope to do some serious camping with them since Tom is retiring now, too. The camper things brings back so many fond memories of camping times shared with your family! We STILL have our original 35 year old pop up camper. Can you believe it! Our kids can't believe it, that is for sure what with its worn appearance and musty smells. But it was hard to give up before now since it held all those memories of the kids as children. Crazy mom here!!! We hope to go to Brown County soon and then will have the annual family campout in Brown Coounty the weekend of October 19. We will miss the Andersons, though!!

A special hi, please, to Tammy's family!

Have a wonderful fall start to school Hannah and Jacob and stay healthy we pray, Much love to all of you as always, Judy Miller

Hannah,
I have been thinking of you & your family lately, checked your website and found exciting news to read!!! How fitting of a title for such a strong young woman like yourself, "Hero of Hope". What determination you show by going to your finals even with a migraine, (and I bet you got A's too), I'm impressed. Your struggle and survival brings hope to so many, from those in the battle and for those of us helping those warriors along as best we can. I'm so proud of you, you must be so honored to be recognized in such a meaningful way. KUDOS....
Take care, stay well, enjoy life!

Thanks so much for meeting with me to help me get ready for the case presentation I'm doing in San Diego next week. It's coming together nicely. It really helped verifying the timeline by reading through your old journal
entries....and I'm so glad you are on THIS side of all that suffering. Hannah I hope your sore throat heals up fast.... keep up with your rinses as that may help drainage move through better. Happy Spring..I hope it's here to stay!! Gail Ezell (CMH ENT)

Hi Hannah and Dee Jo! This is the first time in a while since I have had the time to sit down and catch up on everyone. We had a blast in Orlando! We'll have to get together sometime and show you the pictures, (we have a ton!). We have offically set up a team for both the Relay for Life (June 8-9) and Light the Night (in Sept). Kristen is very excited about it. It looks like I have a "little" schedule conflict with work, but I pray to God that someone will trade with me and allow me to attend the Relay for Life. Kristen has clinic today. We need to talk to them about a few little issues, but mostly she is looking forward to visiting with the staff on the floor and clinic. I hope everything continues to go well for you. Please take care and we hope to see you soon!

Congratulations to Jacob on his lifting! (I know nothing about this so please forgive me if I have not used the proper lingo!) I'm glad Hannah was able to make the trip without being sick. I can understand the "scary trip" for all of you. Last year, when the Journalism staff signed up for the summer Sam Houston State University Conference, George said, "I'm not going". That's where he had been right before he got so sick and was diagnosed in 2005.

Thoughts and prayers coming your way!

That sounds like really wonderful news all around! I know the exceptional amount of time you spent with Hannah over the past 2 years (albeit for a dreadful reason) gave you an incredible bond which you would never trade, but I also know first hand how much you miss being near to ALL your children at times when that is just not possible. Having Jacob close for a while longer will be so wonderful for you! And it sounds like a great opportunity for him in his own right....everybody wins!
I love reading about your victories, and pray that this week's surgeries will be successful, and largely uneventful.
Miss you both!

There is so much stuff going around. Somehow we have all stayed healthy so far, (finding some wood to knock on fast). I hope that Hannah starts to feeling better soon, the vomiting to ease up along with the pains. I know exactly how you feel about a relapse. I worry about every leg pain, headache, bump and bruise Gunner gets. I think this is how it will just be for a very long time. Take care and you are always in my prayers.

It is wonderful to read your site and know that things are going well despite the recent bug Hannah has had. Your night with the women sounded wonderful, Dee Jo. In the "arms" of friends there is so much comfort beyond that which God has already given!

We are receiving great snows from the west today here in Indiana. Jenny,Andy, and Jonathan's kids are home from school in Indianapolis with 16 inches predicted for today. It is indeed a beautiful world no matter how often so many lament over this beautiful snow! I love it!

Please know that we think of you each and every day and pray for a quiet peace for you and continued good health for dear Hannah.

Hannah and DeeJo,
Thank you very much for coming to visit us on Wednesday. Even though Cade was more intrested in making me play Playstation games for him, he retained a lot of what we talked about. We were talking that night about when we'll finally be able to take our trip to Disneyworld and he told me "We need to get a magic button!"
We also have the Superman poster hung over the window, just like you suggested ... and it not only keeps a bit more light out, but people don't need directions to find us!
Take care and enjoy the long weekend!

What a joy it was to check in and hear all about your wish trip! Jordan has been granted the same trip thru Dream Factory and we too will be staying at GKTW the end of April! We are sooo excited, as we have heard nothing but astounding praise from other SDS families who've gone. What a way to celebrate successful treatments and good health! We are doing well, after a very rough year last year for Jordan- (hospital stays every 6 wks fall thru spring), and a couple of bumps for Bailey, but in a period of good health currently and some bone marrow improvement even! I miss your shining face. You are in my thoughts and prayers, always. Bask in the afterglow of your adventure and look fwd to a happy, healthy future!

Wow! What a trip! Sounds like it just couldn't have been better, and the photos reflect that too. I love that your "light at the end of the tunnel trip" ended up being even brighter than you ever imagined.
Come see us again when you are passing through!

Dear Hannah-
I'm smiling right now after reading about your trip. I can't think of a more deserving person to receive such a wish. (I'm sure Sam might say himself, but what does he know!) Anyway, so happy for you my dear. Will see you soon. Tell your mom "Hi"

I am glad that you all had a great time. I had problems with the tables and chairs at the dining room too. The village was the best because even though it is geared alot toward the little kids, big kids have just as much fun. We will check in again soon.

Hannah and family, it sounds like you had a wonderful time. You deserve it, all of the fighting you have done you needed a break. I hope Ross's trip is just a enjoyable as yours. He needs well maybe we all need it. How is grandma and grandpa doing? No more scares like in the hospital? I hope 07 will be the best year ever for all kids fighting cancer. Hopefully it will all be gone forever. Keep that smile and fight strong. Check in on you later.

Hannah, I know of your story from friend of yours on Intercot. I am so glad you are doing well :) We also went to Give Kids the World and loved every minute of it. My son also swam with the dolphins and those photos are my favorites! I wish you all the best!
