Uncle Seth and Canon at Lambeau Field FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, AUGUST 30, 2006 Welcome to Canon's Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated about our "Canon Ball". Canon was diagnosed April 5, 2004 with neuroblastoma. Since that time, he has been through chemo, radiation, and surgery. He finished his 3F8 antibody therapy at MSKCC in May, 2005. Thank you for caring! "How does 3F8 work?" When 3F8 is injected into a patient's bloodstream, it travels and attaches to the GD2 marker on neuroblastoma cells. The attachment of 3F8 to a neuroblastoma cell serves as a signal to the patient's own immune system (for example, the white blood cells) to attack the tumor cell and kill it. In other words, the 3F8 directs the patient's own immune system (which usually acts only to control infections) against the neuroblastoma. Chemotherapy weakens a lot of the immune system, but not the part that works with antibodies. With time, as the body's own immune system becomes stronger, 3F8 treatments may help the body learn to fight tumors on its own. ******************** If Children have the ability to ignore odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. The miracle before my eyes. A reminder of God's presence, Every time I see him smile. His laughter is a joy to my Heart. His forgiveness makes mine pale when compared. He makes me laugh with a sense of humor, That he is always willing to share. The little things that excite him, Make me remember the kid I used to be. It reminds me to enjoy every moment more, Instead of letting the world get to me. Above all I only have to look at him, His momma's pride and joy, To remember to thank my Heavenly Father above, For my special little boy. I understand now how much God loves us, Every time I hold him tight. God gave up the Son He loved so much, To give us eternal life. Thank You God For your Son and mine.

Canon and Trent are in NYC for scans this week. Today went very well. Canon only had 3 sticks before they got the IV (might be a record for him)! MRI, EKG, and CT are done. He is Mr. Independent now. He goes right into scans while dad sits in the waiting room. Tomorrow is prep for MIBG. They will be done on Wednesday, yea!! Today the boys got to go the the Yankees / Red Sox game. Even though the Red Sox won (boo!) they had a great time at the new stadium. They are having a fun trip so far. We are praying for clean scans. We have not received any results yet. Canon saw Dr. Sklar today, his long-term health doctor at Sloan. We definitely want to stay in Dr. Sklar's program since he only follows the kids without disease. Putting all of our faith in God that we will! Love to all! God Bless! -M
