Aidan Joseph Hagerty
Welcome to Aidan's Web Page. When he was 13 months old he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. He is going through chemotherapy. He has involvement in his skin and upper right sinus.
UPDATE: Aidan received his last chemo treatment July 2006. He continues to remain disease free. All of the bone that was lost in his upper right sinus area has filled back in and everything appears normal. Thank you to everyone for all the prayers, I know they worked.
This web site has been provided to keep friends and family updated about Aidan and his treatment. Check out the link at the bottom of the page to find out more about histiocytosis.
Journal
Sunday, February 17, 2008 10:19 PM CST Thought I better get the Christmas background down. I picked the bright sunshine because that is what we are wanting these days lately, I am so sick of the cold weather. Aidan had bloodwork on Thursday. His sed rate, which is a non-specific marker of inflammation, was a little high, so we are going to check it again in 2 weeks and see if it is still high. He was getting over an ear infection, so it could be that or something else. It doesn't mean that it is the LCH, but it could be, so we will decide if we want to do scans when we check it again if it is still high. He doesn't have any complaints, so I think we will be very hesitant to do scans if we don't have good reason. Anyways, other than that things are going good. We had a cycle of strep throat/colds/runny noses/ear infections in our house, but we are trailing off now(keeping my fingers crossed). I will let you all know what we find out with the bloodwork. Oh and by the way, the cold/freezing spray is awesome. Aidan had it when he got his blood drawn from his arm and he didn't even flinch. The lady that took his blood was also awesome! Have a great week!
