Friday, September 12, 2008 8:02 AM CDT Dear Everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that Kameron continues to do well and is living life as full as he can. Kameron had CT scans this week. They were all clear for cancer. His right foot never has Normal in the description but it does have stable and that is good to hear. You may be wondering why his scans were so soon. They were actually scheduled at the end of September but when Kameron went to the Pediatrician for his annual /sports physical his thyroid seemed a bit enlarged. He has had some blood tests and an ultrasound over the last few weeks. All were normal except for the slight enlargement. The oncologist decided to move up his CT scans to make sure. So after a few weeks of worry (it is never ending), we were very relieved with the results. Dr. Bertolone seemed very pleased and spoke to Kameron about careful driving and his college plans. It is always a good sign when the focus of our conversation is on normal things. Kameron will return to the oncologist in 6 months. March 2009. Kameron’s next scheduled medical test is a MRI of his back after Thanksgiving and a visit to see Dr. Puno in the beginning of December. Kameron is doing great. This fall he is taking a very difficult course load but still has plenty of time for fun. He is working as a lifeguard 2 days/ week at the YMCA and has a part in Providence’s fall show. They are doing Twelve Angry Jurors (a co-ed 12 Angry Men). He is juror number 7. The performances are mid-October. Kameron is beginning to think about colleges. I have promised to take him on some college trips to look at them but he really is not even sure where he wants to look. And he is looking forward to the start of the swimming season. He had planned to practice with the USS team this fall but is too busy to fit it in. We continue to be so blessed by Kameron’s progress and so proud of the young man he is becoming. We know his health is a gift from God and continue to be thankful for every day. Please continue to pray for Kameron and all of the children fighting cancer (we hear about more each day). Also continue to keep the families of those who have lost their fight in you prayers as well. Thank you for continuing to check on Kameron. Take care and God bless, Jean and Ken
