Tony the Tigre Anthony is our one year old son who was diagnosed with Hurler Syndrome in July of 2003. Hurler Syndrome is an incurable genetic disorder inherited from both parents. We have made the decision to help our little tiger through a stem cell transplant. We have set up this web page so our family and friends can get updates on Anthony's progress. We also hope that other Hurler families can find something in Anthony's journey to help them with their difficult road ahead.
Anthony Cimarrusti Fund A fund has been set up for Anthony's family for living expenses. If you can help. it would be greatly appreciated. However, prayers are needed most of all.
Send checks to School District 40 Credit Union, 3153 Avenue of the Cities, Moline, IL 61265. Make checks payable to the Anthony Cimarrusti fund. Our address in Minneapolis is Anthony Cimarrusti c/o Ronald McDonald House room 442, 621 Oak St SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

Thursday, November 22, 2007 6:54 AM CST Hi. Has it really been this long since I have updated? As usual the Thanksgiving holiday fills me with such mixed emotions. I think back to 4 years on this date and am filled with joy and sadness. Anthony was with me at the RMH and I was filled with joy. At the same time I watched Max's family pack to go home with heavy hearts. Life is a mystery that I will never understand. Last night I crawled into bed with my miracle boy Anthony. He lay next to me strocking my cheek and told me he loved me. How lucky I am. Life at the Cimarrusti-Jewhurst house has been very busy!! Gianna is in Kindergarten this year and Anthony is in a pre-K special ed. program. Gianna continues to excel. She is reading at a 3rd grade level. She is so gifted!! Anthony is beginning to read more on his own. He loves to spell words he knows from memory. His language development is amazing!! He is easy to understand and does talk in complete sentences. He has become a wiz on the computer!! His teacher feels we may be able to put him in regular kindergarten with some support from special ed. Anthony continues to amazes us. I don't want to leave out that he can also be a little devil! He loves to pull his sisters ponytails and does things he knows will make her mad. He has also become quite the entertainer. Whenever he has an audience in any given place, he breaks into a song and dance. He has been entertaining people at the airport, the beauty shop and in the malls. Of course he loves to make people laugh. This year has also been filled with changes for Joe and I. I left the school district I taught at for 9 years and went to a bigger district. I now teach in Moline. I am back to teaching special education. I know this is what I am meant to do. I work with 4th, 5th and 6th graders. I am blessed once again with a amazing group of kids. We have also just bought a new house. We found our dream home. We are moving into a log home in the woods. We both love it and are excited to begin our new lives. The house is located just behind one of my best friends homes and across the street from my other best friends house. I look so forward to raising the kids in this great environment. I see many happy times ahead. As always, Joe and I continue to think positive and enjoy all the good in our lives. We are truly blessed with wonderful children, family and amazing friends. Have a miracle of a holiday season. Never stop believing!!!
Love, Gina, Joe, Gianna and Anthony
