Savannah's Story

Savannah Elizabeth Olson
June 27, 1997 - March 27, 2004

Welcome friends, family and new visitors to Savannah's web page. Her mom and dad have developed this page to provide updates on her courageous battle with Wilm's Tumor, diagnosed Stage 2 / unfavorable histiology-diffused anaplasia on December 11, 2000. Savannah relapsed to her right lung on September 12, 2002. Just two months after successfully completing relapse treatment (and two stem cell transplants!), Savannah relapsed again to her right lung on June 13, 2003, and then again on December 14, 2003.

Journal

Friday, August 24, 2012

I haven't written in so long. I suppose one of the main reasons is because what else is there to say that hasn't been said before? How many different ways can you say I miss you, I love you, you were such a good, sweet girl, a part of me is missing, how smart and thoughtful you were, we all miss you, we all love you, your sister asks about you, your sister is lonely for you, I am lonely for you, my heart hurts, you were such an amazing patient, I miss your smile, I miss your kisses, I miss your giggle, I miss your eyes that couldn't decide if they were grey or blue, I wonder about what today would be like if you were here, how tall would you be, would you be excited about your sophomore year, how much would share with Jasmin about middle school...

It's all the same. The hurt hasn't changed. The sadness hasn't dissipated. The void hasn't been filled. It's all still there. I've just become pretty darn good at pushing it all away. And just keep thanking God every day for Jasmin and letting her know what a gift she is.

Oh how I miss you.
