NICK'S NEWS

Welcome to Nicholas' Web Page. It has been provided to keep family and friends updated about our son Nicholas (Nick). Nick was hurt in 1999 while on vacation in DisneyLand. The monorail doors on the ride shut on his head. He has had a 1 1/2 years of OT to get his motor skills back. He has neurologicial problems and has developed seizures. The seizure medication has caused his immune system to shut down, causing him to have drug induced Lupus. He is now getting Sub-Q infussions every week for the rest of his life. He also has had a spinal fulid leak in his head and damage to his brain stem. There have been many visits to the Doctors and hospitals.

Please keep Nick and Michelle in your prayers.

This is what happens when you mix blue paint with a college boy! He made it on the Marquette spirit shop web site. He also was the mountain dew extreme fan of the game. He looks like he is having fun.

Wow 9 months have gone by and I have not posted. Shame on me. I am so sorry. Let's see.....
Nick finished his first year at Marquette and started his sophomore year this August. He was picked to be an O-staff counselor. He was a leader for the new freshman class coming into Marquette. He loved every second of it. Lots of new friends. Sophomore year has brought us some challenges but most of them are easy fixes. I still get those phone calls saying Mom I did great on a test and Mom can you make sure that I have money in my account. But I hate those calls that say Mom I am sick again. Nick still has trouble with trying to get rid of colds. It still seems like they want to hang on forever. He is at midterms right now and home for a couple of days. But doing well.
Michelle is a junior in High School. She is has started the college search already. At first she wanted to go into elementary education, but now she is leaning towards high school teaching. Possibly Biology. She is doing well a little stressed with the amount of AP classes and homework has been an overload. She is happy that her brother is home this weekend, but she has not seen him very much.
Glenn and I are doing well. Glenn's business is slow again and now that we are getting ready for winter again, it scares me a bit since I lost my job. Now we have large insurance bills due every month and no second income. I have tried going on interviews but I am either over qualified or under. Most of the companies want me to have my degree. Which I am almost there. So I went back to school to finish this thing called a degree up. We really did not need the extra payments, but for me to get anywhere I needed to do this. Keep your fingers crossed that I do well. I got an A on my first unit! That is a start.
We have had a really rough year and I am hoping that the upcoming 2009 will be a much better one.
I miss each and everyone of you and hope that you keep visiting our site. I am sorry for the long overdue update. If you ever need to see how the family is doing you can always facebook me!
Love to all of you.
Miss you tons and tons.
Angie
