Perfect Mom
By Marcus Shaw

She was the perfect mom to us,
An angel sent our way,
And memories will not forget,
The love she brought each day.

She has affected all our lives,
Plain words cannot express,
The joys we’ve shared and times we’ve had,
Her pain’s been put to rest.

Her family meant the world to her,
She loved them very much,
And mom was always strong with hope,
She had a soft, sweet touch.

Her eyes shined bright at Christmas time,
A twinkle we could see,
And sometimes she would ask our help,
To build that ten foot tree.

When someone speaks about our mom,
The tell us that her smile,
Would melt the frowns and never fade,
And walk that endless mile.

She lived life in the best of ways,
With kindness in her heart,
And always putting others first,
This was her special part.

Each summer we took a family trip,
Up north from here we’d go,
Mom loved to fish and spend her nights,
With dad near fires glow.

God says for us to love our work,
Mom loved the kids she taught,
As teacher’s aid she helped them gain,
A sense of life’s hard plot.

She kept our family on good terms,
Our mentor and our mom,
She loved for us to get good grades,
And help dad with the lawn.

To all her friends I’d like to say,
You made her life complete,
She talked about you everyday,
Your words were very sweet.

Mom waits for us in heaven now,
To greet us when we come,
She’ll be with us until that time,
Her spirit is our sun.

Dad, Ryan, Brett, and I,
Have held her with our palms,
And we know that she’ll always be,
The perfect wife and mom.
